what i do is bananas + some frozen berries, blend them up, basically make a smoothie, then soak your oats in it. put whatever nuts and whole fruit on top. it's good.

ya boii, the oats soak up milk and i just scoop it down my throat. Having tried both microwave, and actually cooking it in a pot in the past, this is by far the easiest, fastest, least cleanup and easily eaten way to do it

I'm small as fuck and I've never eaten breakfast, so I thought about starting with something healthy.

I unironically really like the taste of oats, i could eat the raw if really had to

1 and a bit cups
2/3 semi skimmed milk
1/3 water
3 teaspoons of stevia (crappy kind with filler)
1/4 cap of salted caramel flavouring
1/6 cap of vanilla flavouring

Before this it was full milk and 4 teaspoons of sugar.

I eat them dry and wash down with water. They taste like arse either way.

1 cup oatmeal, 2 cups milk, spoonful of brown sugar in a small pot. Cook until as thick as yo mama, pour into bowl and then mix in 140 grams of frozen blueberries until blueberries are melted into oatmeal mixture. Crush like 30 grams of walnuts in then you are good to go.
My nieces are picky eaters and i just use chocolate milk instead of regular milk and brown sugar when i make this for them.

You can kinda make homemade muesli if you don't like the slimy texture of cooked oats or the dryness of uncooked. I mix 100g oats with 100-200ml milk , 100-125g natural yoghurt, throw in some chopped up strawberries/blueberries/raspberries/blackberries ,a bit of organic jam and ye mix it all up, its pretty fuckin nice

Plain instant oats is still far more packed with good vits and minerals for it's kcal density, than junk food. You know that and you were just exaggerating right?

No I was not. Instant packets with sugar are pretty much fast food.
Plain are are obviously better due to no sugar or any other crap, but still have a pretty high glycemic index, which kind of defeats the purpose of eating oats in the first place.
If you have a choice, instant is the worst option.

I take my oats, fill my bowl about 90%, fill the rest with just a bit of some generic muesli for a good texture contrast, poor yoghurt all over that shit and eat it.

The way I make it to not heat it too long. It leaves a little texture and keeps it from becoming a goopy gruel.

I put 1 liter of low fat milk everyday with 100g of oats and eat it raw.

The only significant differences between steel cut, thick cut, quick, or instant is the cooking time and texture.

Obviously, we're talking 100% oats and nothing with sugar or flavoring already in them.

As long as it hasn't upset your stomach then you're fine. Biggest thing with eating them uncooked is they expand in your stomach if they haven't had enough time to absorb all of the milk beforehand.

Well yes i don't let the absorb but i haven't had any problem with digestion and etc.

Here's how I make it edible:

1 cup whole milk
1 cup oats. Not instant oatmeal or such, just plain oats

Microwave that shit. I set my monstrosity of a microwave to 80% power, microwave for a minute, stir, and microwave another 30 seconds. The point is to get it hot as Satan's piss without it exploding over the inside of your microwave. Watch it the first few times you do it and if you see some of the oatmeal start to swell up, stop the microwave before the expanding air breaks loose and you have to scrape the oatmeal off the roof of your microwave.

Once that's done, mix in frozen raspberries. I just eyeball it, but it's probably around a third of a cup. This will melt the raspberries, cool the goddamn lava bowl of oatmeal, and add some flavor that isn't wet cardboard.

I also throw in some raisins for texture that isn't that of wet cardboard.

I have muesli with no added sugar. It has oats, wheat, hazelnuts, almonds and the only source of sugar are some raisins.

Its almost identical macros and i find it tastes a lot better.

I don't like sweet things or milk so I cook it like porridge with greens, tomatoes and onions. Quite delectable, if I must say

now I can't prohibit you from using milk but usually, it's really not that good for you unless you're using top quality milk

what I do is

>boil water
>put a banana in a bowl
>pour boiling water over banana and mash the banana till it's creamy
>pour 100g of oats (or as much as you need) in the bowl
>1/2-1 tablespoon of peanut butter (buy at your local asian store because they usually sell pretty good peanut butter without sugar at low prices) in the bowl
>pour the water to the point that everything is covered and a bit more
>wait 5 minutes till the oats soak up
>pour a bit more water if it's necessary and pour more water if you want to eat the bowl up faster

if you really NEED more sweetener (which would basically make you a faggot because bananas are sweet enough) then put in some liquid stevia

There's one recipe I do that tastes like genuine apple pie.

>put apple cut in cubes + cinnamon
>you can add some 0% sugar stewed apple
>mix until porridge or apple sauce consistency (or whatever makes you hard).

Serve with some sliced apples for the crunch. tastes great
