There is literally nothing wrong with crash dieting
Assuming you are >getting nutrients >eating high protein >working out consistently >don't resume a shit diet after the crash diet ends >have a reasonable amount of body fat on you when you begin >have a healthy level of body fat on you when you end
Give me a single good fucking reason why everyone here should carry on the traditional slow cut, instead of adopting a much quicker CRASH DIET approach when you can finish your cut in 1/10 of the time of a regular -500 caloric deficit
1000kcal a day, one meal a day post-workout will get you ASTRONOMICALLY faster results than your standard deficit.
>200kcal rice >200kcal vegetables >200kcal protein powder >400kcal chicken 120g protein. you could even ditch the rice for more protein if you need
>b b but you'll lose muscle MUSCLE MEMORY FAGGOT, you can't lose the nuclei you develop in your muscles. ONLY hypertrophy which can be entirely regained extremely fast

On the point of dieting. 20:4 IF is the best thing I've done with my diet so far. 16:8 is too ridiculously easy. But the slight daily challenge of 20:4 does wonders for your body and soul. I've never felt better Kinda unrelated but I just want to get the message out

Teach me brother. I'm likely to have one week of cutting every three of bulking, just to keep fat under control. Could crash dieting be a sustainable approach for that one week?
Christopher Ramirez
I concur

IF is the way to go is better for hormones , i whould not cut the fat out i lost all libido during my diet and erections were lost.i eat now like a pig i needed some time off and i am horny all day .

Crash dieting is only as sustainable as you make it. If you lack the willpower to stick to it, it's obviously not going to work. That being said, it is undoubtedly the most efficient and safe method of losing weight in such a short amount of time. No drugs and you're still getting nutrients (take a multivitamin if you feel like it) I suggest lowering the weight slightly and going crazy on volume during the mini cuts to maintain strength, because you blatantly will not be eating enough on a crash diet to carry on lifting your regular numbers with such few calories. I'd also suggest bulking for 4 weeks instead of 3. You will be surprised at how much fat you can actually lose in a week of crash dieting. Just bulk moderately instead of going batshit crazy on food

My fear is going straight from 1000 kcal for a week and then back again to 3000

If you actually know how to eat at maintenance, then yes.
Also, that's a joke OP >"crash diet" >adequate protein and nutrients
That's called cutting like normal, it would only remotely be "crash dieting" if you were a fatty just starting to lose weight. I find it hard to believe you'd accomplish both goals in under 1k kcals unless you are a twig.

IF was a big topic about 4 years ago when HT did it. Stop harping on about it, we all already know.

Fasting would be healthier.

Some people have regular lives and jobs or school and need energy to help their brain focus on more complex things other than lifting and focusing on willpower to literally not eat
Ive done the crash diet thing and it makes me tired and my brain foggy when im at work, and i cant get shit done like i could otherwise. Not a good feeling. I prefer IF.

What about having an actual life and job with responsibilities on the side? I'm a Physicist and my employer and underlings depend on me and I also have to take care of the kids. How in the hell should I drive such a huge deficit without it impairing my everyday life to such a degree that I will barely function?
Your crash diet sounds nice and all but can only be used by people under certain conditions, i.e. if you barely have any responsibilities. If you need your body/mind at top performance for weeks and months you can't just start crash dieting without the rest turning to shit along with it. Especially when you are trying to get below 12% and use a crash diet. Good luck with your remaining life goals from there on.

>huge deficit without it impairing my everyday life meme. eat all your calories for the day in one sitting and fast the remainder of time for mental clarity and drive. spend a few short weeks dealing with it, and carry on eating at maintenance after, or take 10 times longer feeling sluggish all the time anyway
