There isn't any intrinsic value in having this pride, as it only amounts to how you believe other people perceive you. But those with true pride disregard how they are perceived by others and instead make the most logical and ethical decisions in any given situation.
I'm not saying fleeing is always the right decision, but those who choose not to flee when it's the most logical, ethical option are either overly self conscious about their manhood, (which is a sign of a fragile manhood, or complete lack thereof) or are just unintelligent.
