Also side bends, dragon flags, and I personally like to do kickout crunches as opposed to regular ones. I work abs 3 days a week.
Abs are much less important than whole core strength in terms of helping out your other lifts and making sure that your back and shoulders are healthy.
Planks, russian twists with weight, hanging leg raises, supermans.
Seriously if you want to break into deads above 4.5 and squats above 3.5 plates you're going to want to have a strong as fuck core. Otherwise enjoy your bulged or even herniated discs.

I just got an ab roller and a pull up bar from amazon delivered today. I'm gonna be doing leg lifts and ab rollers.
Question: any reason not to do abs in the morning if I'm gonna be lifting at night like 10 hours later?

The last 2 of 5 times i've done my core workout, ive gotten a seriously sharp pain in my lower left abdomen after my workout. Almost feels like a cramp and i can feel a knot. It goes away in a few minutes. Anyone know what that is?
