Whenever i eat oats, as soon as i pour boiling water in ive got like 5-7 minutes to eat it before it just becomes gross. I've found the key to tolerable oats is eating it quickly
Use steel-cut oats instead of rolled or, mill half in a food processor. Cook longer. Enjoy your soupy gruel.
