Fill it in boys

Fill it in boys

Iron plates are for virgin PLers and BBers.

literally never given this a single thought in my life

...

People who use bumpers for anything but oly weightlifting or something similar are just fags.

For some reason my gym has made it a custom to use bumpers for deadlifts and no one ever uses regular plates. It's really stupid, especially when the only 2 platforms are taken up by deadlifters when they can fucking do them anywhere else on the floor with regular iron plates. It's annoying as fuck

For fags who like to drop their deadlift.

Bumpers are literally for virgins though

>h-hey look h-how much w-weight i have on the bar g-guys

whats funny is when the virgin actually acts superior for having a fully loaded bar despite it be like 130kg

the virgin actually thinks nobody notices, thats the funniest part

pls refrain from slamming your weights and forcing the rest of your gym to use bumpers because of you

here you go

I laughed

>Bumpers are literally for virgins though
>literally
>virgins

You do know what "literally" means, right user?

Bumper plates are for WL. Don't know why anybody who doesn't WL would choose bumpers over iron.

I use bumpers because if i accidentally drop one on my toes, itll hurt less than if iron falls on my toes

I don't do deadlifts.

Even so people that I see deadlifting don't even fucking drop the weight. There's like one or 2 guys that do. If you don't drop the weight you don't need bumpers, let alone need to use a fucking platform when you can do deadlifts anywhere in the whole squat area there's a lot of room to find a spot.

...

...

Good for you

...

Well you did make it

Your post gave me a think

this actually isnt a stupid opinion at all. Steel/iron is harder than rubber so it will hurt more, though the difference is minimal because the weight is the same

anyone who thinks im wrong, which would you rather have drop on yer foot, 20kg of silk or 20kg of steel?

brainlets. fucking brainlets

Well the steel weighs more so its obviously going to hurt more

dropping 20kg of silk condensed down to the size of the iron plate would still hit as hard as the iron...

Oh boy here we go... I better do a 360 and walk away before my IQ drops

try dropping a 20kg sandbag on your foot, steel is harder than sand
weak bait/10

this brings up a very good point. is 20kg of iron heavier than 20kg of steel?

youre fucking retarded. The hardness of the object is a factor in determining how much damage it will do. Rubber is softer than steel idiots so even if they're the same weight the steel will hurt more

are you all stupid? look up rubber and steel on the hardness scale of substances in bing

rubber and steel have different characteristics just like silk and steel,
I'd choose silk because it's more likely to compress when it hits where as steel is just solid

hardness does not determine damage kek, damage isn't even a physical variable

That's a wrong analogy though, 20 kg of silk is going to have a fuckhuge surface area and move much slower, therefore hurt less on impact, than 20 kg of steel.

correct. And rubber is more likely to have some give to it even if its the same weight as the steel. Thank you for not being retarded.
brainlets itt acting like steel and rubber are the same substance jesus christ it's like im being trolled but I Know theyre just fucking retarded

yes it does you collosal retard
if youre hit with two objects, at the same velocity, the disparate hardness of the two objects will produce different results

but then you'd be facing the same way

and it begins

...

yet again, damage is not a physical factor, therefore your argument is nullified

>a fully loaded bar despite it be like 130kg
you're retarded

>20kg of silk weighs less than 20kg of steel

Sometimes I sincerely wonder if they're trolling or actually retarded... sometimes...

i didn't say that, mong

Are you all retards?

it's 20kg bumper and a 45lb steel plate, it's literally more weight

>not mixing the two for easy deadlift loading

hello newfag

I understand what you guys are saying with the hardness and everything but have you guys ever felt those rubber plates? They are pretty goddamn hard, your foot is much much softer than the rubber and dropping either one on it would cause the same damage since neither would have any "give" on impact.

>falling for meta-bait
hello newfag

I use bumpers becasue the fat old men who don't even lift complain about my deadlifts making noise.

Text on the plates faces inward, rookie bitch

can't tell if DYEL or troll
knowing Veeky Forums its both

he didn't say that
he's saying that steel is a lot denser than silk, and will cover a huge surface area
air resistance- assuming the steel is a 20kg plate and the silk is one huge sheet, would mean that the steel would quickly pick up speed since it's got a lot less surface area
ending up with a lot more kinetic energy.
the silk sheet would have very little kinetic energy in comparison
a fraction of the energy of the silk sheet would be transferred to your foot, whilst the rest of the sheet would harmlessly hit the floor
the plate actually has a very small point of impact, since it's round (assuming it s vertical)
it would exert a huge amount of kinetic energy into the foot

That's not how PE and KE works you must be rusty from physics. All the PE is converted to KE in impact in both situations, the difference is where that energy is distributed and the impact force caused by different Jerks. The Jerk for steel impacting is much much greater than something soft. Both would have equal Newton forces on impact, but much different Jerk.

silk weighs less than steel dumb-cuck

...

>bing

Hmmm.

swole vs shredded
in a nutshell

it is almost the same shit you dumb

Lifting with autism

>trusting Google with even more information
I shiggy diggy.

hey man. its good for porn

lel

#freetyler1

>whats heavier, a kilogram of steel or a kilogram of feathers?

Thats right, steel! Because steel is heavier than feathers.

I dohn geh ih...

>getting le troled this easily
back to the reddlt pit with you brainlets

these guys get it.

do you keep your feet 2 meters apart while lifting?

It is not a scientific point that can be measured quantitatively. Still a valid point, his meaning is clear unless you're trolling or autistic (or both).

I need bumpers for my OHP so I can throw down the bar at the end of my set

I always see all the virgin rubber plate fags looking round furtively as the glorious symphony of crashes interrupts their gay grunting but they never have shit to say

THE VIRGIN BUMPER
>flimsy and easily broken despite never being used
>if ever used, it’s only from softball dykes, manlets, or least of all virgin chad wannabes
>good for only one shit meme excercise
>Rarely found in gyms
>equivalent to that of a decrepit tree branch
THE CHAD IRON
>is always used but never has a single chink
>used only by the the most fit men and chads
>these weights have carved boys into men
>has many uses but mostly used for prime work outs such as squats, deadlifts, and bench
>is found in every alpha gym no exceptions
>equivelant to Excalibur

...

>people actually think steel isn't heavier than rubber

Obviously the steel plate is going to be heavier morons. Steel is the hardest metal known to man after diamonds.

Hardest object you'll experience is my dick in your mouth

Nobody ever needs to be slamming 1pl8

>diamonds are metal
>calls other people morons

Wew dyel.

Machinist here.
Absolutely.

>falling for (meta-bait)^2
hello newfag

>never gonna make it

>I don't do deadlifts.
Not gonna make it

More like pressure. Which is force/surface area. The energy of the steel has a force exerted over a much smaller area. Causing it to hurt more than silk, which is over a large area.
Jerk is the derivative or change in acceleration. Can you explain how jerk factors into this. It's a bit hard to intuitively visualize derivatives past acceleration.

newfag

Stop doing sumo faget

duh you fucking retard. ain't no 20kg of iron hevier than 20kg of steel

Why don’t you just rerack it?

But the silk will hurt less because it will fall slower from being less hard.

take a hammer
take a rubber hammer
drop both on foot
post results

i don't need to in order to tell you that the rubber one hurts less

ATTENTION RETARDS

Bumper has more area to it than the iron, so dropping it on your toes would hurt less since its on a larger area

THANK YOU FOR ATTENTION

>do a 360 and walk away
This line (and explanation) should be added to the sticky.
A good way to see if newfags read the sticky or lurked for some time.

>not slamming the weight as hard as possible to the floor

Rubber hammers don't have an iron core

This is the most autist thread I saw in a while

my gym only has bumper plates

I use bumpers as the first set of plates on diddlys because the regular plates wobble around too much.

...

clips?

Can't be fucked putting on clips for just one warmup set.

So your gym doesn't have 100# plates ?

>sips tea

Plus you don't even need clips at all for your later sets if you have bumpers for the first set of plates. Unless you're using the smaller 5kg plates maybe.

I have never once seen those

I lift barefoot. If I accidentally drop a steel plate on my foot, I'll probably fuck my shit up real bad and depending where it hits I might even lose a toe.

But a bumper plate will probably just break something at worst. It has a wider area and is a softer material allowing for some bounce.

Pretty sure he meant dopping a plate from butter fingers when carrying it from a tree to the bell.

Ever heard of pressure, dumbass? Force per Area?

What are those helmets for?
