the last of the Five Good Emperors of Rome

practicing Stoic, a Hellenic Philosophy that holds virtue to be the only true source of happiness and freedom from all passions, he kept a diary while on campaign defending the empire.

that diary is considered the holy bible of Stoicism, and is very easy to digest.

...

Dude, I totally just bought that book a week ago. I freaking love it!

I have been practicing stoicism as well. It is really helping me regulate my stress and put things in perspective, especially since my cousin an heroed about two weeks ago.

It is really helped me realize what is important and to change the things that I have control over.

I lift to find that answer

>paying for literature that's public domain

not as good as Epictetus

Big Lenny

Allah

I like to keep books. And this book is actually one of those that you would want to read multiple times, much like The Book of Five Rings and Family Traditions. I find immense value in having hard copies that I can have and take where ever.

Paul.

I lift for Paul.

Who are these guys? Newfag btw

I read that book, lost it, so I bought it again

Gave that book to my friend who was having a shit time at life

Then I bought a hardcover copy to keep with me forever

I am now reading Plato's Republic for an elaboration on the four noble truths, and later I'll read Seneca's Letters From a Stoic

The love of my life. She loves me regardless of what I look like, but I want to be the best I can for her because she deserves the best

You know could just print it out and bind it if you want a hard copy. Even that would be the fraction of the cost.

I lift so that I never become my Father. I lift for the girl in my life, for my health, and to know I look good standing next to her. I lift so that one day, if I ever have a kid, I can do anything with them and be the best god damn Dad I can be.

helter skelter

you can buy that shit for less than ten dollars and it will be well made lol

You lift for a shitskin austrian manlet that shot himself in the head?

At least lift for a proper Austrian. GET TO THE CHOPPAH

I will have to check those out. I really love non fiction books.

I bought my copy for like 8 bucks from Barnes and Noble. It was cheap just like said. However, it is alot better quality than if I just printed it out. Plus its alot smaller than the average printer paper sheet size.

Sorry, its just my preference. I am real particular about my books. I have books I have read about 15 times and the corners aren't even bent or the pages aren't even curved. When I am not reading a book I put a weight of some sort to try and keep it looking as new as possible. I am just weird like that.

So far I have a large collection of books, but the majority are in my storage unit about 300 miles away. I have with me about 5 with me. I have the one by Marcus Aurelius, I have Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy by Joseph Schumpeter (a love letter to Marx I cant bring myself to finish.) Then I have a writing composition book, Man and Superman by Bernard Shaw. Then of course the book I have read the most in my life The Book of Five Rings and Family Traditions by Miyumoto Musashi.

>roided degenerate who didn't even train legs

My inner chad.

>Who do you lift for?
Myself. In order to improve myself.

I will make her real someday

My wife. I have been her caregiver for 11 years and have had months of insomnia, numerous breakdowns and burnouts. Any more would've been a heart attack. I lift to strengthen myself, to be a better caregiver, to sleep at night, and be an example for her and our kids.

Nah, you are not even her type unless you are beta dyel, then you got a chance.

But I am a beta dyel. I just lift enough that I wouldn't die from her kicking my ass.

compliments from guys

I feel you user. We'll both make it one day :)

Lifting is the only reason I bother getting out of bed in the morning. I'm not where I thought I'd be in life at this age and the days all blend together. It's been like this for about two years now, but at least raising my strength bit by bit gives me some semblance of control

Indeed . Little petite white pussy .

Markus is good, but if you're looking for a way into stoicism Epictetus is superior, although he isn't exactly Veeky Forums related

Why would you waste the money on your own paper and ink? Just print it out the library or something.
