Why would you stay home in your smelly garage and do lifts when you can go to the gym and:
>be seen >develop a reputation of actually knowing how to lift >get compliments on ur gains >get mired by qts >stand a chance of making a fucking friend or two >maybe have a qt fall for u
Lucas Butler
Because the target demographic for Veeky Forums in general is so thoroughly indoctrinated by so-called 'social media' (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc) that they have to be involved with 'social media' in generall, that the time they would otherwise spend building proper real-life, face-to-face social skills, is now wasted online. Thus they grow up to have social anxiety issues, be socially awkward/retarded/unskilled, and thus are unable to deal with the idea that there are PEOPLE in the world they have to deal with in public situations -- like going to a public gym. Hell, most of them can't even deal with their own family, preferring to seclude themselves in their bedrooms, being able to only relate to a computer screen. It's pathetic, really.

f-for you

home gym >blast your own music >do whatever you want without having to wait/share >open even if there is a tornado >your house looks cooler >can fart loudly and proudly
Brody Myers
or you could just lift in the comfort of your home without people constantly judging you and meet women at parties and other social gatherings instead of bothering other people who just wanna work out in peace. you know. like a normal person
Luis Scott
LOL I don't use social media at all! Veeky Forums is just for laughs, when I'm bored.
Ryder Carter
>save the daily drive times and now have that time to use on other interests/hobbies/responsibilities >own equipment instead of 'renting' it, and if its cared for has actual resale value if you ever need to get rid of it
Hudson White
>>look at me >>look at me >>look at me >>look at me >>talking while lifting lel >>entirely dependent on your gym demographic In short OP is a fag.
Juan Taylor
that's too real, user
Jayden James
>the truth hurts! Maybe you should think about it, and make some changes. ;-) Stop falling for the 'social media' troll/meme/jew and go have a real life. No bully, either; it's not your fault, they targeted you and everyone else.
Gabriel Bailey
>this is your brain on narcissism and deep-rooted insecurities >"please pay attention to me and like me"
Jayden Perry
>develop a reputation of actually knowing how to lift
Truly the greatest reputation of all.
Let me tell you a secret, user. I can go outside whenever the fuck I want.
Luis Sanders
>tfw this is unironically my life After school and work I hide in my room and shit post until the next day begins.
Elijah Campbell
Because it saves time and nothing is more valuable than that
Levi Brooks
The backlash for this is fucking insane. I like to lift at home and work from home. I still have an active social life, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy peace and quiet for myself.
Jayden Taylor
I trained in a home gym for about 4 years. There's slightly more pros than cons. Unless you're a poorfag, convenience/time saving is the best thing. Worst is lack of equipment and possible space issues too. I also find it very difficult to force myself through horrible volume days without the distractions a public environment provides and I always take longer to get through workouts at home.
Nathan Moore
>tfw train in big 24/7 commercial gym full of arabs/turks/moroccans/kurds >nobody talks german >somebody stole my oly shoes while I was showering
I'd love nothing more than a smelly garage just for myself
Charles Sullivan
Fucking hell sounds terrible. I feel for you and your rapidly declining country
t. Scared and disgruntled Brit.

Home-gym:
>After initial set up cost it's totally free, never pay gym fees again >Open 24/7 >Has all the equipment I want, tailored to my workouts, available to me without wait times or others getting in the way >Can blast whatever music I like, loudly >Can wear whatever the fuck I want when I workout >travel time to gym is the 20 seconds it takes to get to the garage
Commercial Gym:
>total grab bag of equipment on offer >have to wait or work in with randos >have to get there, travel adds time to every workout >have to pay fees >stuck with the insufferable top 40 bullshit playlists >curlbro pajeets leaving weights and equipment everywhere
Man if your fucking dependent on the gym to be your social outlet the rest of your life needs some fucking work. When I workout I'm working out, not socialising, not posturing, just hitting my sets in my allotted time slots and putting the work in.
Nolan Phillips
Nah bro I like hitting the gym as a social thing as much as a strength and mass thing. I talk with the trainers and the regulars and shit and it's great because it's the only place you'll ever get to discuss Veeky Forums shit in real life.
Tyler Lopez
Use my own music, can hop on it whenever I want without much prep, ample supply of water, learn at a pace I'm comfy with, can experiment and not be an autistic mongoloid if I fuck it up, great ROI over the years even if I move away from a gym since the gym moves with me
Kayden Baker
I like going to the gym because that way I get out of my house.
Ryan Green
this
Gabriel Cox
I do both because of the nature of my work (24/7 caregiver). Some days it's best to lift at home with dumbbells, bar, and home built equipment. Other days I can bring my wife/patient with to exercise at the gym.
When at the gym, just practice basic stoicism and manners - you'll be okay.

Youre right about that social problem many here have but thats got nothing to do with having a homegym. A gym doesnt need to be for social interactions. I prefer to stay focused there and be social afterwards when going out.
Nathan Howard
gains for gains > gains for thots
Leo Hughes
People like you are the reason I stopped going to the gym and got my own equipment,
I hate people that initiate small talk every goddamn day while I want to work out.
Christian Parker
Why are these women always on their tip toes?
Camden Brooks
>Be poor >make thread on mongolian basketweaving forum >Talk about how renting someone else's things is better than having your own
Oliver Torres
I lift at home because I grew tired of driving to the gym after work, sitting in traffic, having to wait for people to finish with equipment so I could use it, tired of people breaking shit, using stuff and not putting it back, spending £30 per month for the service.
I can now workout whenever I like, I can squat in just my underwear and a shirt, I don't have a group of guys asking how long I'll be with the equipment and I can attempt things without fear of failing embrassingly.
Yes their aren't any chicks to look at but after experiencing the staring by women, gym romances don't really exist, it doesn't go beyond looking at one another. I can now focus on my workout, get a better body and meet people outside of the gym.
I miss some equipment, like the use of cables but I can manage without them, the body only knows intensity not the movement so I substitute it for something else.
All in all of rather have my "gym" 10 seconds away than 15 minutes away.
Ian Jenkins
How much is too expensive for a gym? I pay just over $70 a month, and I feel that the price doesn't justify the service. Am I being ripped off? Is this price reason to /homegym/?
Carson Fisher
pay £15 for mine which is like $20
Colton King
Fuark, I need to get outta there. I'm getting ripped off hard.
Luis Wood
But in my home gym I can watch anime and listen to Carbomb as loud as I want
Carson Sanders
is it the only gym in your area or something? can't think of why it would be that expensive desu
Jordan Russell
I'm building a home gym so I won't have to wait an hour for dyel faggots to finish using the squat rack.
Ian Lewis
hope you don't install any mirrors then
David Thompson
stop using words i have to google to understand
Jacob Brown
Ayyyy LMAO

Bit of projection there m80. Doubt Veeky Forums is for people indoctrinated by social media. It seems more to me they are the sort to reject social media as much as possible. That's why they come to an anonymous forum and not reddit. No doubt though we are some awkward bast***s. I could see the motivation to lift at home to avoid assholes but I need the routine of leaving the house and going to the gym to get me to get started then the workout is fun and fuels itself.
Nolan Cooper
I built a gym in my house so I don't have to wait/work in/etc. Plus no time driving to gym. My workouts are hella quick now.

they're showing of their "ass progress" since they're only capable of understanding what makes men want to fuck them more
Jace James
Because: >Why do I care if people are looking at me? >I know how to lift, why do I care if people think I know how to lift or not. >I lift for me not for compliments >more mires outside of the gym where everyone is focused on working out. >who goes to the gym to meet a gf?
Also, >my gym is much nicer and cleaner than the public one >I can work out on my schedule, take breaks if needed, and don't have to waste time travelling >fridge and shower are conveniently located
