There are plenty of people who stay in marital relationships for idiotic reasons well beyond five years (they generally come from the pool of people who think brides should be virginal) and their marriages are totally unstable, their family is not stable, and their children suffer a variety of outcomes. And don't give me that "stay together for the kids, stable household is better" nonsense. It's been shown time and again that while a stable family together is better than two otherwise normal parents who divorce, being in a household with an unstable but legally still bound marriage is a disaster for kids.

It is, but promiscuity is immoral for both men and women - men are just able to have the maximum committed pair bond more than a single time before it degrades. They should still aim for a single partner but be safe in the knowledge that if it falls through they can have the same with another girl.

I had an american born Japanese girlfriend with immigrant parents who love me as their son. Shit was good. But she was my first gf and after two years I ended it.

I was having doubts about how happy I would be with her, we clicked so well and loved each other to death.
