Can you cut on 1,500 calories while maintaining strength? Then do it, it's faster, good for you.

it depends how long you'll be dieting for, but people on Veeky Forums dramatically overstate muscle loss

they lose a little size and strength (because of glycogen depletion) and assume all their precious gains are gone, and when they end up lighter than they expected when they hit 10-12% bodyfat they think it's because of muscle loss rather than just being fatter to being with than they thought

Yeah good luck with your 12-18 month cut that can be in in 3-6 months.

i find that anything below 500 does fuck all, i usually cut on 800 (and the numbers add up according to my progress)

What if you take a look at /fast/?
The studies show that more fat lose is achive while maintain all the muscle by rising your natural secretion of HGH (growth hormone) and test, it will rise of energy expenditure of the body (cutting will slow down your BMR, fasting will increase it) by increasing the natural secretion of epinephrine (adrenaline), etc. At least check it out.

I always find it feels better and is easier to create most of your deficit with cardio, but my resting tdee is only like 2k anyway.

small and strady, no dessert foods, no sugar, no bready shit, no cheesey shit, no yummy nummy foods. plain diet all week, supersets, 6 workouts that week. everytime i do this i look like a fucking greek god

It's easier and probably more efficient to do it slow (500 Cal deficit per day), but if you can make higher work then why not.
