How widespread is gear within SOF and the military in general?
I heard most of the SEALs that graduate BUD/S these days are on test and/or HGH.
Standards keep getting higher too, only 1 in 5 candidates graduate BUD/S compared to 1 in 3 just 10 years ago.
Is it even possible to get through elite-level selection programs natty anymore?

Also take a look at the Ranger in this video, no way he's natty

i can only speak for ranger, but yea if youre big youre either a soft skill or on gear.

I have no relevant experience, since I'm in the Dutch Air Force, but I met a couple of guys during OCS who were in our Royal Commandos and were chosen to be promoted to LT's. Went to the on-base gym with one of 'em a couple of times, dude was pretty small for what you'd expect from an SOF guy. People underestimate how big of a role endurance plays.

Pic related, dude (Kevin Ebbert) was a SEAL and the kid looked 17 and 140lbs.

I'm still only a lowly infantrymen, but my dad and uncle and brother are all in SOF, either SF or 75th. I've been around SOF my entire life.
Gear is pretty common in SOF. None of the guys that finish bud/s are on gear, but most so be once they get on their team. It's most common with seals. Many SF guys are as well. The ones that aren't are still pretty big and go to the gym every single day. I used to train at the 5th SFG private gym and the most crowded time of the day was at 5am.
One thing they don't neglect though is cardio and endurance. They are fucking animals at cardio despite all being pretty heavy lifters

Forgot pic

Also, I'm currently working on an Airforce base where almost nobody hits the gym. The on-base gym is empty ever single night.

Fuck headphones or earphones, bringing a speaker to the gym is where it's at.

Not sure if asking in right thread, but screw this.

Anyone have a proper USMC workout program? Want to test myself and improve my results.

2 min max pushups
2 min max sit ups
2 mile run for time
Thats the ARMY p.t. test a good starting test and actual measurable results look up the marines p.t. test if you want that.

T.y., anons.
Don't have the workouts, do you?

Stew Smith, look him up

Check out routine threads on Veeky Forums.

So most guys don't use gear to get through selection and training, but use it once they get to their unit?
I mean it makes sense, there's no way you could keep up with their op tempo and retain/gain decent amounts of muscle naturally.

Is that workout meant to be impressive? Old mate seemed to exaggerate the difficulty of it. I could easily beat that ranger through that course

Maybe you could beat him, but I'm also pretty sure you couldn't finish the course very fast and without getting winded if you were 250+ pounds of muscle like that guy.
Dude looks like a fucking Gears of War character.

Dude looks like a fucking CAT, through the monkey bars imagine the AGILITY

Thats pat tillman. He played college football and wasin the nfl for a couple of seasons. after 911 he joined the sf. During iraq, he started to criticize the war and the toll it was taking on troop morale.

His unit or the goverment killed him. Either way they covered itnup with the official story they told his famalams.

Cool doc about it by the dude who wrote into the wild

>this is a 250lb guy made out of STEEL like a cat

lold hard

>"This is SGT Ross Miller"
>Thats pat tillman

Will confirm, had some frauds in 1st Batt around early 2000s, most guys were pre-Crossfit "functional strength" lanky bro scientists. No fucking way a guy could keep a gear schedule through selection

This, even POGs use gear, we used to have a Supplynigger who was a recon drop who did cycles and would get anyone who wanted to start a cycle steroids. One of my buddies did it to get back to where he was pre-deployment when he got wounded and lost a ton of weight

Agreed.

I mean this guy is jacked and I'm sure he lifts some heavy weight, but this obstacle course was NOT DIFFICULT at all.

Any guy should be able to do this.

Fucking monkey bars? Imagine the forearm strength...

Leaf spec ops minimum requirements

>Bench press is part of the requirement

When the fuck are you gonna need to 1rm bench press your way out of danger?

It's a way of allowing them to legally kick out women

...

I'm dyel as fuck and get 77 on this...

Being fit is 40% of tier 1 SF

>Implying that they will want people who barely pass minimum requirements

PT tests are just minimum standards. You'll most likely injure yourself trying to get through selection

Gear is more common after selection. Drug tests and pre-screening beforehand would likely DQ you and render you ineligible to even try out. Selection is about mindset above all so they want it to be as physically difficult as possible

He's talking about the picture not the video

>94
>fat fuck, literally do cardio once every 6 months, just to see if I still can run 3km.

Leaf Spec Ops are shit.

Fuck, thought the sit-up table was push-ups for support specialists.
Over 100 then. Leaf spec ops confirmed for accepting obese people.

I'd like to know how many max the bench because a 350 bench being as skinny as they probably are from all the cardio is ridiculously impressive

If you head over to /k/ there’s a trip called rickyrecon who is a Ranger and supposedly with RRC. He said it’s about 50% of the guys on gear. Showed pictures of some jacked fucking dudes on plate carriers

The drugs I saw used and abused a lot more were things like modafinil to keep you up and alert for long periods of time

>modafinil

Why dont we hear about this more often?

Any good programs or routines to follow? If I want to be in the 75th should I follow a strength routine? How would I schedule my cardio? Is Tactical Barbell a viable program?

hahaha chair force of course

75th likes their guys smaller and lightweight, they are a light infantry. Practice heavy endurance and good nutrition because in there you are going to be tested on heavy endurance and stamina. They are going to make you malnourished as well. Be able to run for long periods of time and have decent strength, not too much emphasis

got anymore of this brochures from other SF units?

I've heard good stuff about TB. Isn't it a minimalist barbell program for people doing a ton of other conditioning/whatever?

If I was seriously training for a selection event I'd do barbell lifts 3x a week (basic bench, squat, deadlift) and add a bodyweight finisher after every workout. So like 3x max pushups, pullups and situps or something. I'd run 5-6 days a week working towards like 40 miles a week, just building up endurance.

Then, before my selection event, I'd pick up one of Stew Smith's ebooks and run through it twice or until I can easily max whatever benchmarks I need to meet. That's what I'd do.

the gear and speed and shit? lol you stupid fucking tax cow

Other military's or strictly Canadian?

doesnt matter

Joffrey is that you

Well judging by the fact that to score a 30 on the run as a specialist you basically have to beat the pace of the 3k world record I'd say they don't

Rangers are usually skinny as hell, like abnormally so. So gear is probably an option there.
SF eat every fucking chance they get, they have there own DFACs and can usually go in 24/7. They also can get money for extra meals.
The one guy I knew personally while I was in that was true GB could eat multiple pizzas by himself, drink non-stop, and was 6'4'' with incredibly low body fat. While still being body builder standard of muscle mass. They burn an insane amount of calories and get paid most days to lift or train. Opposed to most of us who have to lift on our time off at the end of the day. Roiding might be an option, but he got piss tested pretty regularly. I'm pretty sure they are just genetic freaks.
Special Operators (general) are usually average muscle mass, slightly below average body fat. Standards are high, but not enough to have a need to excessively work out or lose body fat. I worked with those guys personally and it was just slightly more intense than that of any general unit I had been in before that.
The average unit I worked in before going to Ft. Bragg I was always top of the PT score because those guys were so out of shape.

I know nothing about Navy or Marines.

TYFYS

>Standards keep getting higher too, only 1 in 5 candidates graduate BUD/S compared to 1 in 3 just 10 years ago.
It's not the standards that are rising, it's the average quality of men that's declining

This ++

It's so easy to be the biggest guy in the building at any given time on an AFB. Muscle-wise, not fat.

Except for the air controller that used to be in the Dutch olympic bobsledding team. That dude was built like a tank.

Some military positions on deployment have nothing to do but sit on their ass, go to the gym, and eat. A lack of adequate and available pussy coupled with computer lab social media access makes for motivation to get yoked and crush puss after deployment or on leave.

its both spec ops nigs are a lot more elite now and the average militaryfag is a lot less fit

>keeping alert
>not huffing hand sanitizer
>not nut tapping each other

Did you even server, bro?

80 push ups is equivalent to 160kg bench for points?

Is this true?
Can I see a source?

Shut up you sick,demented asshole.

no of course not.

I'd expect them to use it more than anyone. The absolute biggest fucker I've ever seen was a 1st Sargent at an Army Base. That mother fucker looked like he was part cloud and was at least 6'4" 300lbs+.

I doubt there is anyway on earth he would ever pass the 2 mile section legit without dying on the first mile.

I work in a infantry brigade legal office I separate people from the Army all the time for drug hots but Ive still yet to see anyone pop hot for steroids. Aka its overlooked or we don't reguarly test for it.

USAF here, spec ops minimum standards aren't super hard to achieve, but a higher score makes you more competitive. Even if you get a little over the minimum, they may only select, for example, the top 200 candidates that month.

>soft skill

?

quits job , joins up to be killed by fucking friendly fire in a made up war, no thanks.

POG
excellent contribution thx man

can confirm

rasp graduation rates have dropped from about 50% to sometimes below 10%

my company hasnt gotten new privates for almost half a year now

Is it possible he was taking peptides or GH? Something other than AAS?

Can you please elaborate on this?
This goes against what id imagine would be happening.
Also have you seen this?
>sofrep.com/94786/careerism-cronyism-malfeasance-special-warfare-center-end-special-forces-capability/
What do you think the reason that SF is pushing people through but seals and rangers are doing the exact opposite?
Im just hungry for more info.

could be a number of reasons. SF and Ranger are two very different organizations with very different mission sets.

my guess is that SF makes up the bulk of USASOC and is the army's most commonly known SOF unit. they also have been taking up a increasingly larger role in the global conflict. they might just need bodies.

As an ex 4rar member I'll tell you once your in an sf unit. Everyone is on some type of gear.

>4rar
?
Whats this for non military people?

Australian Army here, ex navy. Roids is rife. Its a running joke amongst Infantry battalions. Its impossible to maintain muscle mass when you have to pass a PESA so alot of guys have no choice. SF do alot too, a few got caught like 8 years ago in Afghanistan but were let off.

In the Navy every Stoker wa son the gear but purely for vanity as were alot of PTIs for the same reason.

A female recently passed selection for one of the SF units she was given Hormone blockers apparently to get her over the line. But thats more to do with the government trying to push women into places they dont belong.

So in short yes its common but yes guys do get caught and get booted out. Unless your SF, as if they're gona throw you away after they've spent a million bucks on you.

4th Battalion(Commando) Royal Australian Regiment. Now 2nd Commando Regiment.

I knew a couple seals and I doubt they would ride bicycles. They just don't need/want the size.

Hey, militaryfags, I wanna be a tank crewman or fighter pilot, are these good designations or are they shit?

What country are you in?

Do you know that a chick just passed selection as atm on reo. How does that make you feel?

When I found out I pulled my app out of disgust.

England

lol that ranger is slow af.

Seals is where it's at

youtube.com/watch?v=7XJu-2E7RT4

You have to get at least 11 points in each category and this is just the bare minimum. 75 points isn't close to getting you on selection, you'll need 100 to be serious considered.

Do you faggots not realize he was moving slow on purpose to demonstrate how to do it?>You have to get at least 11 points in each categor
>that adds up to 55
Math?

As in if you get below 11 in any aspect but still score well you'll be automatically refused

Did any of you even watch the op video that was some of the most pansy unenthused agility I have ever seen what the actual fuck

If that man is on gear it's his 12834th dose and his endocrine system is already sudoku

Right but thats not what you said dude.
>You have to get at least 11 points in each category and this is just the bare minimum.
Do you faggots not realize he was moving slow on purpose to demonstrate how to do it?

Google the marsoc short card, its a good start.

You're retarded user

So this is you coping cause you were wrong?

minimum requirements usually don't mean jack shit, that's just so you can get accepted into training, and if leaf SOF is anything like US SOF, the training or selection program is 15x harder than getting these requirements, for instance, swimming, rucking, obstacle courses, and endurance tests

can confirm, ive seen two marsoc teams, and a green berret team in my time, and the marsoc dudes were all very athletic / fit, but none were huge, they were all normal size, the berets were defintely bigger, i think they might have been on some gear, but they were active like non stop, pretty cool guys to talk with too

from what ive heard, in the US, is being a pilot is very hard to achieve, and fighter pilots are even harder to become because you "dont get to pick what you fly", at least in the US

You get to choose what you fly during pilot training. The top student picks first, then the second, and so on. And the fighter slots always are filled first.

>I'm still only a lowly infantrymen
Well you fucked up buddy. Enjoy your exploding knees.

Well according to an article that a current instructor wrote, it’s actually impossible to fail Burger SF training because of feminism.

We will slowly whittle away the standard until none exists and then we’ll finally have burgerstan’s first feminist green beret.

Any Australian miltary brahs here? What is the gym culture like and do many roid?

Bragg baby reporting in. Lots of sof are juiced. Even in conventional forces its easy to make connections with people who have sources or make their own steroids. Im not talking basement dweller bathtub brew, but well researched and practiced professionals who have dedicated the right amount of resources into securing their own supplies. Its a cesspool of information in the military. Soak it up.

Non combat specialty.

Lol fuckin pog

70% Of navy recruits don’t pass their first PT test
I ship to boot on Monday so I’m not looking forward to losing my gains

I trained with some 2rar guys and they were all huge as fuck

We have some big guys4u in my platoon (usmc snipers) but all the 2rar guys were at least 6 ft tall and swole.

At least we were better at shooting than them
