Is cycling good for leg gainz?

Asking because I'm not allowed to do squats due to back problems so I'm looking for a non-lifting exercise for quad/hamstring hypertrophy.

This isn't a fitness board so nobody here does real cardio

that's sad.

i mean, look at how big these cyclists' thighs are.

yes
cyclists have god tier calves

so for how long and at what speed should i cycle to maximize my leg gainz?

You can do leg press, quad extension, hamstring curl etc.
Im no expert but I think you would have to train for a longer time using pure cardio vs a hypertrophy routine purposefully meant to grow muscle

no idea, i only cycle to work, never done it as a means to get gains

replied to wrong post

those are track cyclists senpai, not GC cyclists

do u think they take small doses of viagra or something in order to make their dicks bigger? I feel like it would be a good marketing strat and psychological weapon

And have you seen leg gains just cycling to and from work?

Keep building up the resistance level, do HIIT and if you're just starting out make sure to at least hit 80 rpm, but aim for 100 rpm during the peak of your intervals.
Warming up and cooling down should be done at around 40-50 rpm, and try to limit your cardio to around 30-40 mins to avoid losing gains.

If you find an elite cyclist with big legs, it's because he's been roiding.

The endurance style training doesn't really lend itself to hypertrophy, but if you do max load sprints/interval training of 30-45 min, perhaps you will make some gains. (And those gains come when you sleep/rest.)

absolutely, when i first entered a gym my legs were the only part of me that wasn't weak as shit.

Good for dick gains apparently

Are uphill sprints enough to balance my hamstrings/glutes with my quads from cycling?

it really depends of what type of cyclist you are.

on road sprinters have biggest legs.
track cyclist have the biggest legs.

if you start as a leglet cycling gives you a very fast boost in leg gains.

only legs tho

and consider also that you may burn more than 2000 calories in a day so you have to eat a lot if you want those gains

They had big dicks before they started cycling.

Research shows that men with larger sex organs are more inclined to do cardio than their small penis counterparts who reject cardio completely in favor of lifting weights.

What's high test? Having your dick rest on the left or right side?

Will need a source on that buddy

the dumbest thing ive read today by far

big if true

>tfw no velodrome near me
>tfw no mountains near me
>tfw too dangerous to ride road bikes in my area (did it for 3 years)

I don't want this feel any longer.

Not a good sign that you felt the need to reply to such obvious bait

>If you find an elite cyclist it's because he's been roiding.
Fixed

Just mountain bike. Climbs for cardio, down hill smashing for full body.

post more moose knuckle

professional cyclists would gym though. its not like their training regime would be "ride bike for 2 hours every day"

Cycling is great for leg gains. I used to be a fat fuck and got into endurance cycling when I started losing weight. When I got close to my goal, it became apparent that my legs are disproportionately fit compared to the rest of me.

My upper body is still a bit flabby, but my legs are pretty huge and I have weirdly vascular calves. I wouldn't recommend cycling to replace leg day completely, but it'll help maintain gains you've made before.

>tfw ride so much that I can't do squats because I don't want sore quads for riding

If by cycling you mean sprint intervals in big gear then yes, otherwise it's waste of time (if you're concerned with hypertrophy).

road cyclist here

I supplement my endurance routine with lifting 3x a week, there isn't a replacement for squats unfortunately. Squats have made me much stronger on the bike.

It's way more fun than running, but running is definitely a more efficient exercise for the time you put in.

I can't stop staring at the dicks

Welcome home, senpai

what's wrong with his hips?
