Just joined my local gym today. I felt like I've been physically diminishing as a man since high school and decided that getting Veeky Forums would bring me back to my peak.

I've been trying to do research and even read the stickied beginner's guide, but still am clueless on a routine.

To put it simply: I'm not really looking to get a beefy physique, but rather tone myself down significantly and improve my endurance along with strengthening my entire body.

I'm a 5'8", 160lb man. 20 yrs. old.

Share some routines that that target all the muscle groups, along with cardio. I'm looking to hit both the free weights and the cardio machines at my gym.

Pick one. Also post a picture of your body with your face covered.out of frame so I can give you good advice.

Choose any beginner barbell program like SS or SL.

Do 30 minutes of HIIT twice a week to increase your basal metabolism

...

You sound like a woman

>I don't want to get big, I'm looking to tone
Why do normies always say this retarded shit? What do they think they mean by this?

>I felt like I've been physically diminishing as a man

Yeah, I'm aware.

what are your goals really. dont just say "I wanna be toned :^)" post a goal body

I'm new. I'll probably be asking a lot of stupid questions in the next few weeks. I'm sorry.

Its more the
>i'm not really looking to get a beefy physique
Thats just like the classic "i dont want to get too big line bitches use"

It's not necessarily what you're saying that is presenting as feminine, but how you're saying it.
For example
>I'm not really looking to get a beefy physique
>rather tone myself down
>I'm 5'8"

I guess I just want to cut down on my overall body fat %. Along with gaining some strength back I've lost.

Better than expected. Alright here's what you're going to do:
1. fix you're fucking bed
2. draw up a diet with the help of something like myfitnesspal, if you're looking to get more toned then look at a 300 calorie a day cut, where you eat 300 calories less than you need. do this until you can see your abs.
3. Hit the gym, like the first post says any beginning barbell program
4. couch to 5k

That's all the planning done. The rest is 100% unadulterated not being a pussy,

Finishing my laundry and I did a load with my sheets and blankets. Beds without sheets make me cringe as much as you do and I'm sorry you had to witness it.

Anyways, thanks for the advice!

You’re supposed to be 18+ to post here.

>couch to 5k
you talkin' about this here, sonny?

Just use the app:

Good luck my dude.

Don't forget to track your stats so you can measure results.

This, there's nothing quite like seeing how far you've come

What do for cardio if you've got a bad knee? Biking seems to work for me but I've got to ride for like an hour to burn 500cal. Thinking about joining the Y to hit the pool.

It's a stupid thing to say because getting big is really hard. it takes years of hard training. lots of people here are putting that amount of work to get big, and normies act like it is a common side-effect. what's crazy is getting in shape, or "toned", requires the same lifts: squat, bench, deadlift, pull ups, and overhead press.

>I'm not really looking to get a beefy physique
Pathetic.
You want to focus on cardio, don't lift more than a set weight and reps.

Nope, fix your shit.
