Also use dumbbells too don't need a spot for those either. If you just stick to dips your chest is going to develop funny and be lacking in places

OP here, primary push movement will be some variation of OHP. Bench causes me pain moreso than dips ever have. I could add some dumbell bench but will be limited quicker than a plate loaded bar or dip belt.

Weighted dips have a very high injury rate. Rippetoe says that they "preclude injury," and I tend to agree. You can make them a secondary, especially as a beginner, but I wouldn't program them as a bench replacement. You'll regret it.

Just bench. Arch your back and have some kind of safeties right below your chest, so that if you lose the arch it isn't on top of you. Safeties can be set up in a rack, on various benching setups, etc.

You can bench alone, use a little brain power and get it done. And use a hard arch, get those lats working fag
