Seriously have just started rowing seriously and the back gains are IMMENSE
What's your favourite row?
How often a week do you row?
How much do you row?
Nothing as satisfying as finishing a set of barbell rows for a SICKENING pump

Are vertical pulls necessary or Can i just do barbell row?
Am i the only one whos lower back hurts after rows?
Weak posterior chain
ever heard of pull ups soyboy?
no explain them to me
>compares a vertical pull to a horizontal one
hurf
I do em after my deadlifts when my hammies are properly warmed up. Not super heavy weight (1pl8) just high volume. Twice a week. Try doing pullups after your arms will be trembling
why does it have to be one or the other? do both
Whats the opinion on belts for barbell rows?
I know, I don't know why people keep comparing the two. Just do both.
nah fuck barbell rows. high rep cable rows, high rep pulldowns, and low rep weighted chins
barbell rows are on a higher tier than all those faggot accessory exercises
I do Pendlays but only because I started out on SL
Can somebody redpill me on the best rows? I tried dumbell rows but the form felt incredibly awkward
r*ddit get out
Pendlays are fucking garbage.
I do pendlays too. I don't know I feel like with normal rows my grip and low back gets tired before my lats. Also I feel the posture in pendlays translates better to deadlifts.
youtube.com
bloat rows are the best
Are you fucking stupid or something, if anything reddit hates Mark and SS more than this board.
t-bar rows
trash
Rows are for cucks
T bars are for Chads!
>t bar rows aren't rows
see
Gynodino is a fucking fraud that gives shit advice.
From best to worst
>Chest supported tbar rows with a neutral grip
>regular tbar
>db rows
>"normal" rows with pronated grip
>cable rows
>pendlay rows
>yates rows
>tfw no tall barbell rowing brappy gf
Now that is an injury waiting to happen.
other way around, from best to worst:
>seal rows
>regular BB rows
>pendlay rows
>cailler woolam style cheat rows
>db rows
>other meme BB tbar shit
the fuck was that?
t. weak faggot cucks who can't row for shit
Bent over row and dumbell rows are my favorites, atleast twice a week. Lats and Rhomb doms are fucking great.
the guy in light green is doing the cia pose lol
no, that was just such poor form
rippetoe is a faggot, no idea why he's caught on in the internet lifting communities so much. good marketing i guess
God what a pathetic bunch of people
America really is fucked lol
it is, they are the most delusional on the planet too
maybe you should try out pendlay rows

If this isn't right, what kind of form are we supposed to use for rows?
i'm gonna start doing these, i just wanted to git decent with other lifts first since im new and dont wanna wrench my back. i did my first sets of deadlifts the other day and started with 2pl8s and then added 50lbs and i feel it in my back but not a bad feel, its a very good feel so i think i can do rows without worrying about it. im sure i can deadlift 3 plates next time and i'm gonna just start with 1 plate rows. what is the equivalent of 1/2/3/4 for barbell rows?
>people leaning on the equipment
FUCKING REEEEEE!
2plate row without excessive cheat
T. Rows 2.5 and cheats like motherfucker
Try and stop me
ty user
I don't think you should be too strict on barbell rows, it's one of those overload exercises IMO.
Did a shitton of barbell rows followed by snatch grip deadlifts afterwards, truly a pissening back workout and the DOMS feels great
tf why is she balding?
also lol at the people in the back
thats why rippetoe still has tendonitis ON BOTH arms.cuz he's a retard who promotes shit form.
I just started doing them as a superset with flat bench and I'm loving the pump.
do them slow and controlled. throwing them up to your chest then letting them drop not only doesn't make for good exercise, it's also a one way train ticket to snap city.
What back angle should be used? Why shouldn't we be explosive with bent over rows?
I've been doing em explosively Schwarzenegger style and got up to 195 lbs for reps in a short amount of time. I feel my lats being worked, but I'm concerned I'm doing something wrong because of how quick the progression has been
Forgot to upload pic
>levering
>Chad
pick one
>What back angle should be used?
different for different targeted muscles
I never feel DOMS from a barbell row??
It just fries my CNS for a few days even if I lower the weight and do tons of reps i can't feel those muscles/mind connect and tense up correctly. I have better luck with all sorts of pull machines.
I can feel deadlifts work though and my form seems fine
you mongs got trolled. the rip webm is from him doing a seminar on the row, where he has the qt do an example of the traditional gym row, to discuss the consequences of loose form. this is a fakenews clip meant to rustle jimmies. I'm not going to give you all any free (You)s but she very strictly rowed 185 later on. if a girl pendlay rowing 185 isn't impressive get your head out of your ass. He just teaches a supinated pendlay.
This guy knows what's up
Seems appropriate, should help with back rounding
yates row > bent over row
Started doing pendlay rows with pauses between reps, back started growing after that. I guess that's because when I didn't pause I would compensate with my shoulders and hips after some reps
Also if you diddly 3pl8 stick to around 1pl8 rows, maybe little bit more
Its easier to snap on rows, requires perfect bracing and breathing pattern
weighted pull ups >
what if I don't do conventional deadlifts and row 3pl8?
If back angle effects the lift, how do Yates Rows differ from bent over barbell rows?
My upper back is weak and holding back my benchpress, will these help with that?
>strongest deadlifter in the world advocates doing heavy as fuck barbell rows
>guy whose never accomplished anything noteworthy in competition says otherwise
I wonder who I should listen to
How much you deadlift, squat and back extensions? Probably weak core/posterior chain and poor bracing
>guy whose never accomplished anything noteworthy in competition says otherwise
That man? Albert Einstein
What does that incompetent fraud have to do with anything.
>einstein
>incompetent
>fraud
Pick one (you get ignorance for free)
ye
wtf Rippletoe is Einstein?
this doesn't apply to me, I've deadlifted 500 and get to have my own opinion
Gynodino's advice is shitty as fuck, as always.
This is Mehdi-level retardation
Why dont you want to pull 900lbs?
youtu.be
How to both tear your bicep and low back with just one exercise
>thinking cailer's pull has anything to do with his meme row variation and not the fact that he can scratch his knees without bending over
lad
Ed Coan recommends them too, but sure go on
>barbell rows better than weighted pull ups/chins
How's your new years resolution going?
what's the best barbell row for a novice and what can i do to protect my lower back?
wear a belt and keep a good posture
>coaching for people who can't even bend over
lmao why even bother
how fat and unathletic are you
Cheating t bar rows brah
How do I do these without triggering my hernia every time
Do rows need to be POWERFUL?
Can you just pick the bar up and drop it, or does it have to be rammed into your belly with POWER?
Answer this man please
I need to know too
I do bb rows with decent weight compared to my other lifts but I don't really feel them working anything.
My legs are funnily what ends up most tired after, from holding that position.
I like the t-bar row
>R O W S
>O
>W
>S
It needs to touch your gut, and it's almost impossible to do without it being explosive. Then you just drop it.
Not quite pendlay but I go near-horizontal.
I don't get t-bar rows, seems like an easy way to smash yourself in the nuts, otherwise it's just limiting your range of motion. Why? Meme
Kroc row >

yates row = barbell row
yates rows with snatch grip are GOAT
broder
That's called high pull lmao
i meant to say semi-snatch grip. really overloads the upper back well.
youtube.com
Try high pulls dude, you might like them
Beautiful mate
If you are gonna do them like that might as well do rack pulls with +200lbs weight though?
Chest supported rows are unironically goat
