No, it's because you've seen his videos and so YOU get suggestions to watch him whenever you're watching these videos that are barely related to him. I can watch literally any video right now on YouTube and still get five or six really shitty suggestions to rewatch some of my favorite songs, that doesn't mean they're actually related to what I'm watching. Google's method of suggesting videos is absolute garbage.

How is it trivializing if he makes no money from YouTube. It's like thinking you're a great success in movie production because you're on public access television. You are not a success, you post fucking free videos on the internet and make pathetic money doing so.

someone with a 100k+ viewer base that uploads frequently can easily make $5,000+ a month.

I used to hate Alex too, I remember watching one of his videos in 2017 and really despising him. I hated the way he looked, the way he talked, the bullshit he said, etc.

With time, however, I grew to like him a bit. And the reason for that is probably the fact that I hate-watched a few of his videos, and while watching particularly his older ones (mere 2-3 years ago) I was surprised by 1. The wide range of his interests and his self-improvement projects 2. How much he changed for the best.

If you haven't seen his older videos, watch them. He's a bizarre figure in them. Weird way of talking, ridiculous clothing, huge bug eyes, creepy childish face, disproportional body, and just an "off" demeanor in general. But you pay attention to the things he was talking about: how to improve social skills, how to fight social anxiety, lifestyle tips, nutrition tips as well as the fitness stuff, you can see that this was, at the end of the day, a guy who was well aware that he was dealt a bad hand (being a socially challenged manlet) and applied a lot of dedication, research, and willpower to go out there and fix everything, and to share the lessons he's learned. You notice that the reason he's always spitting broscience and complex scientific concepts he may not fully grasp is because he's out there learning, often going over his head (which is essential for proper improvement) and trying things on his own before the guides are out there. And I'm sorry, you can say you still don't like him now and that's fine, but you can't argue with results. The difference between him then and now is staggering, on all aspects.

And after I noticed that, I started to respect him a lot more. There's something about perseverance that forces you to like people.
