I have the knees crack and from what I've read those are just trapped air pockets that are escaping from the cuffs. Kind of like when you crack your knuckles. I shouldn't worry about it unless you have symptoms appearing along side it.

How much muscle can I expect to build when just starting out? Broke out of skinny fat mode a while back thanks to fasting. Lifting for about 3 weeks now and am up 3lbs dry. How much of that is muscle?

What I've read is that generally it's around 50/50 fat and muscle, gaining at 1lb a week.

don't even bother counting how much you're gaining when you're starting out. just focus on lifting and eating more and look back at your self at least 3 months in to actually see some progress worth checking

So yesterday I went to a rock concert and was drunk and was banging my gead really fucking hard until it literally stopped working. Even today I can barely hold my head straight.
It doesn't feel injured, just extremely fatigued. (+ I can feel the stretch).
How do I make it recover faster, it kinda interferes with my workout.

So Ive been working out on the strong lifts 5x5 for a while now (about 3 months).

My squats are usually really deep, almost ass touching concrete. Knees straight up. Recently Ive been getting abdominal and ball pain when I wake up. Usually a few days after a good lift. Not intense pain but mildish.

Im at 145lbs squat so I had thought this wasnt too much of a risk for a hernia. I should say, I had a hernia operation (born with it) when I was young and not lifting. Around 15. Ive been staying at the same weight for 2 weeks to kind of counteract that predisposition.


Should I deweight and work out doing a normal parallel squat while my body heals? What would you guys advise?

Stretching will help, yes. My roommate literally couldn't deadlift when we first started going and now can do it just fine. Your body gets used to it.

few questions lads, so i'm running a lot lately (6 times a week) to try and improve my cardio for when i join the army. i have about the absolute minimum fitness required for what i want to do.
when i run i find myself stopping due to mentally giving up rather than exhaustion or muscle fatigue, this will develop over time so what i do at the moment is run until i tell myself to stop then carry on after a minute or so. should i be doing that or trying hard to push even though i think im tired?

It'll go away, you didn't hurt yourself, yes you can still train (don't train biceps today though, you need to recover obviously)

It's important to discern between pain and soreness. Soreness is normal. Pain is not.

How much can you straighten? If you can't go past 90 degrees be worried but if you can go most of the way and the inside of your elbow hurts, that's normal your ligament is very sore. Give it a rest for a few days, don't overtrain.

I'm sick, so I probably won't train this week. However, when I come back to training, what weight should I go back to? Deload 5%? 10%?
Currently I'm doing TM, squat 157.5kg for 5, deadlift 202.5kg for 5. Due to elbow problems I haven't been able to bench properly, but it's at 105kg for 5.

I'm primarily a runner/cyclist and my arms are incredibly weak compared to my legs so I've started doing some pushups at home, but since I'm 6'3 and 220 lbs it means that bodyweight exercises are always going to be an uphill battle for me, even if I lose weight, because of my height and I can barely do a single full pushup.

Should I just pick up some dumbbells and use them instead? What exercises should you do to train all the different parts of your arms?

Curls, hammer curls, skullcrushers, DB bench/flyes, lat raises, DB raises. All dumbbell stuff you can do at home for upper body. You can also use them to add weight to ab exercises.

Started stalling on squads at 2.05 pl8's so i pyramid them now starting at 1pl8, then 2pl8's, 2.6 pl8, 2 then 1. Just not sure pyramids are as good for building chest as 5x5 would be.

What do I do if I can't lose any weight lately? I've been stuck at 182 (down from 240) and I recalculated my TDEE so I'm eating 500-800 calories under that, mainly high protein low carb and my weight loss has completely stalled for nearly 3 weeks. I've tried eating maintenance calories, above, fasting for a day etc and I'm not losing anything across 3 scales on different surfaces. I'm losing hope lately.
