beer is notorious for stealth carbs, lowers your inhibitions and can cause you to forgo a diet or work out; it's also difficult to build muscle while your body is working alcohol out of your system

socially though, I think the gains are great. Makes talking to people easier and more enjoyable. If you can maintain a good regimen and not overdue it, go for it

alcohol will fuck up your nights and therefore, your mornings too.

Went out after work last night for a drink. Had about 4 pints, not a lot but enough.
Felt like shit the next morning for an hour or two but nothing major, I recovered bit late morning.
Come this evening doing my session, felt weaker and had no energy compared to days I don't drink.
Think I may need to cut back. Fuck getting old.

I used to be an alcoholic and it was cured with LSD so I'm incapable of event consuming a beer with out getting angry at myself so I'm biased here.

I view it as a plague.

That being said. If you use it in moderation and it helps you socialize there isn't a huge argument against you using it.

This being a fitness form though, it has very few redeeming qualities in that regard.

If you are trying to cut drinking is like trying to fuck a brick wall.

I use to have 2-3 beers with my dad on friday night when we went out to eat. But after I got over my buzz I'd get an annoying headache. Turned me off from beer since.

Had 4 beers yesterday and didn't get enough sleep. So todays lifts are fucked. I'm going anyway but it's not going to be good. I've found the limit is 1 beer the night prior to lifting. 2 beers and the muscles just can't perform optimally no matter how much water and sleep you get.. Also fucks your diet

I drink about 12 pints on an off week, and then about the same on a single heavy night every two weeks, and I still have visible abs.

Went 20 days without beer and the fat loss is pretty noticeable. Can't talk about gains because i fucked my foot and can't lift. But if you wanna trim down it's obvious to me you can't drink often. Maybe a beer a week isnt bad.
