Eh, little dips into the plane is okay, I just wouldn't put a lot of points in. For example getting exotic townsfolk for the sake of shapeshifting yourself into something not completely human would be a nice boon too.

As for splitting perks, why not think of more perks, fill out those perk trees more? And where are those wandering Frankensteinian creations made by other plague doctors? It seems dull if conduits are the only franken frans in town.

I've been playing around with an idea for a cyoa, where you're summoned to be a witch's familiar.
You get spells and shit, and could probably end up more powerful than him/her.
The idea was you pick one of the witches that summoned you, and depending on their experience/power you get more points. They have different reasons for wanting a familiar.
Yay or nay? I'm more aiming for slice of life a la Flying Witch than some Fate/Stay Night "go fight to the death" thing.

It looks great but there's one thing I think is no good. You give us 3 points for our basic curriculum and 8 options to choose from, but most of those options can be bought multiple times for greater proficiency which most people tend to do. So you either start specializing at the basic level already or spread out your points over more but inferior options. I think that will end up shoehorning people into a very narrow, yet superior build that will very much affect the rest of your cyoa.
