Could we have a thread for voice acting?

What equipment should we use? I've got a USB headset with a mike, but Vocaroo doesn't seem to recognize it, and I know for a fact that it works for skype.

Check Noise Reduction in Audacity, it does wonders.

I know that; I've recorded myself before, just not in a long while. I'm surprised how different my voice sounds outside my head from how I remember it.

It's so frustrating to try to do impressions. It sounds really good in my head, and then as soon as I hear it recorded, it's so obviously me doing a silly voice.
How are you supposed to do good voices if you can't even tell how you sound in real life?

I'm obviously not the best actor for this part, but English is my first language and writing is my strong point, so I'll try to revise this a bit for you.

I left out the bit about the Chaos Warmachine, since I couldn't figure out a way to fit it into the imperial chauvinistic fervor. Besides, that's the sort of thing that you might want to hide from the players, hinting at it occasionally but never revealing it until the party is too deep into it to turn back. I'm also assuming the players are on the side of the Marines; if that's not the case, then what I wrote was sort of pointless.
