In responce to raids from the Pacharnati Empire, the largest and most populous nation in Eyerdar, the Occidental Alliance(Us - the White Republic, the Kaichou Empire and the Sunset Alliance) has jointly declared war and deployed its colonial forces. After several smaller skirmishes our forces dug in and awaited winter's passing. It is now spring and the snows have started to melt. Our forces have been deployed across a wide front to protect our outlying colonies from pacharnati attacks. We now have the initiative. White Republic forces available: 20 ships of the line and 15 frigates
5000 well equipped, mounted officers 7 000 rangers 6000 Maargard 10 000 Stormborn 10 00 Blitzkriegers 20 000 cavalry - hussars,lancers,dragoons and cuirasseurs 80 000 Line infantry 40 000 Colonial militia infantry Artillery corps and field medics of the order of St. Roise We have ample reserves available if need be. Our land forces are split into three armies, our navy is reinforced by an additional 18 ships of the line and 12 frigates from our allies. The land forces they've deployed are 120 000 for each. Now we must decide on a plan of action. 63,75 for the distraction, 90, 86 and 81 for the two armies and navy - wew lad. Central forces advanced north and engaged the enemy at the mountain range's edge. Some territory was taken, but those forces were under orders not to atack any major fortresses. The distraction worked great in allowing our northern forces to swoop across the coastal region. In a matter of weeks we've taken almost all the lands northeast of Anchichu, the Pacharnati capital. Enemy resistance was disorganised and couldn't even slow us down. Our navy made rapid progress, destroying the pacharnati warfleet with ease as we now have dominance over the northeast. The pacharnati have rallied many forces to the front. They've convinced their people that this is a fight for survival and though they are technologically behind us(their main armaments are arquebus guns and melee weapons) they will try to match and surpass us in numbers and use terrain, fortifications and zeal to even the scales. Our coastal offensive was stopped by the appearance of a large enemy army near Anchichu, numbering around 120 000 at present. Two smaller enemy armies(estimated at around 50 000 each) have reinforced the mountain fortresses and another large army has appeared from the west, threatening to flank General Fao Nim's forces. Now's our initiative - proposal plans of action.

Fao Nim and Shitashiba's forces were flanked and pushed back by a large enemy counter-offensive. Some casualties were sustained, at present they're camped near the Inroki river. Yi Sei and Tarsen used the enemy's focus on the plains to break through the pass east of Anchichu, completely destroying all enemy forces in the area. Vareg's forces engaged the large enemy army in a major battle north of the capital and after two days of fighting the arrival of Alus' reinforcements spelled the doom of the pacharnati, whose formations broke and fled - many were captured, others have gone to the capital. The fleet's been rather inactive with no enemies to face and is now patrolling the waters. Our forces have now surrounded Anchichu from the grasslands to the north, Much of the city is unprotected by walls and lies at the foot of the mountain. As one climbs higher the first layer of walls protects the military district, a second layer of walls protects the city of the wealthy and higher up lie the largest temples and palaces of the Empire. The southwestern mountain passes are still in the hands of the pacharnati. Beyond them lie most of their forces at present. The city is defended by a sizable force and the lands to the west can still provide reinforcements. A.Have our northern forces assist the southern ones and aim to eliminate the enemy armies in the field B.Have our southern forces rush to block the pass and separate the capital from the armies in the plains, while the northern forces besiege the city C.Assault the capital as soon as possible with our northern forces(Vareg, Alus, Tarsen, Yi Sei - around 250 000 men) D. While our navy has wrecked havoc along the pacharnati coast, their reserves still managed to mobilize and provide reinforcements to the capital, which forced Vareg to fall back to the east or be encircled. To the south the great battle for Green Mountain was fought for over a week. The Pacharnati Emperor led his forces personally. Three times the kaichou-chink armies failed to take the fortified positions of the green heights. The arrival of pacharnati reinforcements and mercenaries from other tribes from the south and west led to a pincer attack on our allied forces. A daring night raid led to the loss of much of Fao Nim's supplies. The general attempted to make a desperate push north to break through the pass. The pacharnati purposefuly allowed him to go through, as they had prepared traps and ambushes in the pass - tens of thousands of chink soldiers were killed or captured, Fao Nim's head was put on a spike. Many of Shitashiba's troops froze to death as they were pushed further into the mountains without supplies.The kaichou general eventually managed to withdraw our remaining southern forces back to the river after taking major losses. Upon reaching the river and assuring the safety of the survivors, the general commited suicide. In our rear pacharnati resistance have been making raids on our supply chains, which has led to our militia forces being redirected to the defence of those supply routes. It is now summer. A.Withdraw to more defensive positions, await reinforcements and secure our supply chains B.Rush to take the capital before the enemy's southern forces can arrive C.Bring our northern west and then south to attack the Emperor's army D.Another suggestion

As the war continues it is quite likely that the NPU will join in and attack the Pacharnati from the west in order to take some territory and riches for themselves. While we've given the order for our troops to regroup and reinforce, what shall we do about the NPU? There's no way for that to work. Negotiating means we'll try to make them part of our alliance - not just for this war, but in general. We can't have them join our alliance, contribute resource and troops to the war and then not give territory. We've sent messengers to the NPU - we'll encourage them to raid the empire's hinterlands and if they can afford it they are free to occupy some territories as well. Together with our fleet this will aim to disrupt further reinforcements from the west. A month after the disastrous battle of Green Mountain, our troops are rested and reinforced. In the northern front we have 250 000 men under Vareg, Alus and Tarsen ready for battle. Militia detachments have secured our supply routes and dealt with partisans for now. General Yi Sei has taken over the southern theater. Chink and Kaichou forces there have been reinforced to 230 000 and are ready to avenge their fallen brothers. It seems we overestimated our positioning. The Emperor's forces clearly know the terrain better as they managed to find a route that allowed them to break through our lines and before we could even react properly the pacharnati have begun withdrawing to the west. They left a detachment of troops to cover their retreat. Our allies were slow to respond to our maneuvers and we had to fight the detachment alone. By the time allied forces had arrived, the pacharnati had managed to escape beyond the horizon, though they had to sacrificie 10 000 men. We have a choice now: A.Pursue the enemy and do not let them rest or recover B.March on the capital instead and besiege it C.March on the capital and assault it

We've put Anchichu under siege. The outer parts of the city, beyond its walls, are home to the poorer locals. The pacharnati utilise limited territory to its maximum through terrace farms and the city's outskirts produce enough food to feed a part of the city. The capital is well supplied with water from the mountain and it will be hard to destroy the enemy's watter supply. They have three layers of walls and fortifications the higher up the city goes. Its total population is somewhere around 300 000, of which at least a third live outside the walls. The city's garrison is large, a seperate army numbering around 50 000 has been stationed here and the population is being armed and trained to resist at present.
