Xioxio's Bizarre Quest 12

Stand stats: pastebin.com/rYUsbyni}

You slam the door in the little girl's face, pulling Rai away from the room, as the colour bleeds out of his hair, his shoulders losing the new width he'd just gained.

He squints, staring down at his hands, now line with wrinkles and varicose veins. "I'm starting to think... that I made a mistake..." He mumbles in a feeble voice.

A patient passes, staring at Rai as you press him to the wall, his knobby knees needing support to keep him standing.

Knuckles rap on the door to the nurse's break room, a child's voice calling out, high and clear. "C'mon, c'mon! Don't you want to make me pa~aaaaay?" She asks in a singsong sneer. "Just come get me, then we can pla~aaay!"

You clench a fist, 『Kiss From a Rose』 bursting out from you, silently waiting for an order. Another nurse passes by, a few crows feet pricking up below her eyes as she passes the door, before she walks through your stand, shivering and clutching her arms as she keeps walking.

A stand that leeches youth. And it doesn't even seem to need contact, since you haven't seen it manifest yet.

>Through the window

>Through the window

You help Rai move, heading down the hallway, you reach an elevator and head down. That window was looking over an enclosed garden, bet she won't be expecting this.

The old man whimpers a little as a stoop forces it's way into his spine. "Xiao?" He asks in confusion. "That you?" He clutches tight to your arm, his eyes starting to turn a milky white.

"Yeah Rai." You grunt, emerging into the garden. "Just take a seat for a while." You gently lower him onto a bench, "I'll be back soon, and I'll have you fixed up in no time, okay?"

His mouth opens, like he wants to say something, waiting for a few moments, before he nods shakily.

He's getting worse. Better figure out how to undo this, and fast. 『Kiss From a Rose』 grabs you around the waist, bunching her legs under her, as you pick the window out.

That one!

You glance around for good measure, making sure no one will see this, before you hurl yourself upwards, arms crossed over your face, you curl your legs up, bursting through the window in a storm of broken glass.

The little girl whips around, her silver hair shimmering in the sunlight as you tuck and roll onto the floor coming to your feet.

"Hi, hi!" She grins eagerly. "You could have just knocked if you wanted to come in!" Still no stand in sight.

She loops around the frame of one of the nurses' bunk beds, arm coiling around it. "You wouldn't hurt me, would ya?" She giggles girlishly. "I'm just a little kid!"

You spot a decorative vase of tulips on a counter behind her.

>Choke slam her, she's asking for it

We can say that to distract her, or potentially learn something of her powers

>Grow the tulips out to grab her, keep your distance

Smack her down first, and ask that from position of dominance.

Alright, roll a d100 to see how unfortunate this will be

Ohy boy

...well the first exchange is going to suck.

To bad Xio doesn't know how lasting stand powers work when you murder the user horribly.

>>Grow the tulips out to grab her, keep your distance

You don't even answer her, sending your stand to rush at the tulips.

She just grins wider, "Naughty, naughty." She clucks her tongue, jumping closer towards it.

Your stand grabs the flowers, and you stay in the sunlight, prepared to channel power into them and-

"Nothing! Stupid." The girl chuckles, grabbing hold of 『Kiss From a Rose』's leg. "They're paper flowers!"

Your shoulders swell a little, and you could swear you grow an inch or two, your clothes getting tighter, even hear a tear in your shirt over your right bicep.

Damn it, she got you. You pull your stand back, letting it fade from sight. She's keeping her stand hidden... that or it's just not visible.

On the other hand, she hasn't gotten any smaller... the hell? In place of the tulips and vase, you only see a wad of paper, mashed into a ball of wet clay.

"Now you see the power of Celines 『Turn Back Time』." The little girl snickers. "Now if you don't mind." She raises both hand to her mouth. "HEEEELP! THIS WOMAN'S ATTACKING ME! HEEEEELP!" She screams as she bolts across the room, away from the door.

You stick by the window, staying in the sunlight, 『Kiss From a Rose』glimmering at your side.

>Hurl shit her way, glass and the curtain rod

>Toss her out the window, you can take a little ageing to get to safety

You shove one of the beds up against the door, tossing a few heavy boxes on top for good measure, before you hear someone jostle the doorknob.

It forces itself open an inch. "Help! This scary lady's trying to beat me up!" Celine whines, dancing on the spot, chewing her fingers in mock fear.

Whoever's behind the door gasps, trying to shove the door open again. "Call the cops!"

Shit!

You press against the bed, slamming the door properly closed again, leaning against it. "You shouldn't have done that." You warn quietly. "I don't do well with cops."

She grins, all smugness and pride, hands on her hips. "Go ahead and kill me then." She smirks. "Enjoy spending twenty five to life for murdering a sweet, innocent kid."

"You're as much a kid as Rai looks." You spit. "How old are you really?" You start to circle around the room, Celine circling with you.

She smirks, "If you must know, nearly three hundred." She flexes her fingers. "Been here since this whole city was little more than a dirt track." She giggles again. "Little boys are always in such a rush to grow up, it's easy to sap 'em dry." You clench a fist. "Little old Rai's no different. So eager to be a grown up, to be tall and be treated with respect, to have no one in charge of him.... to impress older girls." She smirks again, waggling her eyebrows.

You come to a halt, glaring at her, the curtain rod out of reach unless you send your stand for it.

>Put him back right now, and there's a chance I'll let you live
>Gotta get out of here, before the cops arrive

>Put him back right now

>gotta get out of here, before the cops arrive

>Put him back right now, and there's a chance I'll let you live

You glare at her, "Put him back right now, and there's a CHANCE I'll let you live." You warn, pacing around her still.

She tuts, waving a finger at you. "Ah, but Xiao, if you kill me, how are you going to get him back to normal?" She smirks. "He'll die in just a few minutes. Since he came back, I was able to double tap him. He's ageing a month a minute now, how many do you think he's got left in him?"

The evacuation alarm is pulled, as whoever's outside continues to pound on the door. "Let that poor girl go!" The doctor outside insists. "We can talk this out!"

Rai's still ageing... but she's not. And it seems like she was able to take the youth she stole from you and channel it into that vase, reverting it back to clay and paper... then that means she can send it into whatever she likes.

Question is, where is Rai's youth getting funnelled.

Your eyes dart around, you kinda wish Angie was here. She's got a mind like a whip in situations like these.

>Punch her out, you can move faster than she can.

>Try smashing the clay, see if it reverses the ageing

Can I join? I have a stand that I made up a while back.

Do we have any seeds on us? If we do grow them around our arms to act like sleeves that can stop her from touching us, instead she'll just drain the plants.

its a quest, but chuckles is always down to steal stand ideas

So can I join or not?

Its like a collective choose your own adventure. Not straight up role playing.

>Try smashing the clay, see if it reverses the ageing

Its not a roleplaying game. None of the players have OCs or anything. Its a quest thread.

Players vote on the actions of the existing protagonist and the updates are written by the person running the quest...to join all you do is cast a vote from the options or a write in from the updates.

>steal the vase and hightail it out of here back to Rai.

Ah. Well, then I can at least give my stand idea:
Happy for Nothing
basically it can transfer damage from one object to another.

Interesting, we're currently fighting a 300 year old Loli whose stand can shift age between people and objects.

You jump away from her, back towards the counter, seeing a flicker of fear in her eyes. "What are you-"

You scoop up the ball of clay and scraps of paper, tossing them high in the air, 『Kiss From a Rose』bursting out, you pummel them for a moment, before slamming it into a wall.

It glows with a soft golden energy for a moment, before it slowly reforms back into the vase and flowers, as you shrink down an inch, feeling back at home in your clothes.

"Looks like I figured out your little trick." You growl, keeping your distance, the sound of approaching police sirens getting louder.

She's gone pale, her smile gone. "Yeah?" She spits, "What of it? Your little friends still gonna die! You've got no idea what I transferred his youth too!"

A sharp whistling sound splits the air for a moment, something shooting in through the window and embedding in the roof.

You stare up for a moment, before a scrap of paper floats down, wet with spit. You snatch it before Celine, pulling it open. "The floor tile in the corner." Angie's handwriting, shot up here by Rai's stand. You glance out the window, the two staring up in concern, lacking the physical power to jump this high.

Rai looks like a corpse, his skin dried out and hair brittle.

Angie holds Rai's phone up, pointing at it. "Linoleum, it's made out of linseed oil, and pine and a bunch of other plant stuff!" She screams! "If she de-aged it, you can use it Xiao!"

You glance at the corners, spotting a brown mess under where the bed you'd moved had sat.

Celine's sweating now. "N-now Xiao, let's not do anything to h-hasty!" She gulps.

>Smash the wood first, Rai needs help.

WE BLEW IT

It isn't Xio's day.

You dash to the corner, sending 『Kiss From a Rose』ahead of you to smash the square of wood, driving it's fist straight through, kicking up a cloud of dust as it reverts back to plain old linoleum.

You feel a sharp stab in your wrist as you turn back, a small multicoloured scorpion creature stabbing you deep in the wrist.

You hiss, as blood spurts from the wound, the scorpion disappearing from sight as you try to grab at it.

You shrink this time, your clothes getting baggier, your stand disappearing in a wink.

Oh god damn it!

"Oh? You lost your stand, did you?" She smirks. "How unfortunate." She covers her mouth in a smirk, as the metal frame of the bed next to her rusts and twists, sagging under it's age.

You're shrinking fast, your past your massive growth spurt, and still bleeding from the wrist.

Her little scorpion stand's disappeared for now, but you're in trouble.

You look around for something, anything to use, cinching your belt tighter to keep your pants up. Your still taller than her, and you've got at least thirty pounds on her scrawny ass.

>Curtain rod, impale her!

>Curtain rod, impale her!

If we kill her, then what's going to stop the aging effect?

Someone who is 300 years old is going to be afraid of dying.

all the age she stole would go back where it belongs? Then she'd be an old woman and the cops would find a little girl Xio and a dead woman. Then we discretely break the rusted beds get our mojo back and leave?

"That's it!" You kick the end of the curtain rod, flipping it up into the air, nodding when you see the sharp hook at the tip. "I'm finishing this!"

youtube.com/watch?v=RstYtbzoVsE

You level it at girl, letting out a savage scream, as she backs up against the wall. "Wait! If you kill me, you'll never get him back to norm-"

You drive the hook through the underside of her jaw, her scorpion stand tries to throw itself at your face, it's stinger going for your eyes.

You bat it aside with a harsh swat, slamming it into the wall with a harsh "Skree" noise, before you tug back on the rod, pulling Celine in like a hooked fish, the spike jutting up through the bottom of her mouth.

She's in too much pain to scream yet, blood pooling out of her jaw. "That was for Rai!" You growl, before driving a punch between her eyes.

Her eyes roll back and her stand disappears, blood running down the rod, as she coughs up a single violent burst.

You release the rod and she keels over backwards, her body growing and growing, into that of an old woman's, before her skin rots away, leaving only bone, hair and dust.

You glare down at her for a moment, before you topple the bed she'd put your age into, stamping on the weakened metal, you split the rusty section in two before it reseals itself as stronger metal, your body returning to normal.

Feels good to be back, 『Kiss From a Rose』 shimmering out. You glance out the window, Rai back to his regular short self. Seems that Celine had transferred his youth to herself. Greedy bitch.

The door's gonna give soon, you can hear the cops prepping a ram. You drop out the window, your stand easing the fall, you approach the other two, Angie giving you a grin and nodding in approval, while Rai just stares at the floor, looking ashamed.

>Let's get out of here before the cops catch us.

>If you want to get ripped like me just asked Rai.

I wonder when we'll get a chance to use our families secret technique? Maybe our dad will teach it to us after we break his nose.

You wipe some blood off on a sleeve. "Come on, let's get out of here before the cops spot us." They both nod, "And thanks for the help, both of you." You clap Rai on the back as he stands up.

He blushes a little, rubbing his neck and hurries off ahead, hurrying through a door and off ahead.

He returns a few moments later with a bunch of waddded up towels, and the two help to the best of their abilities to clean the blood off of you.

You bind the wound on your wrist as best you can with some stolen bandages and hit the street, slinking out past some cop cars, ducking your head when you see Crakehall, Angie ducking behind you.

A cop steps in your way, "Excuse me, ma'am?" He asks, grabbing your wrist, "You're bleeding pretty bad, you should probably be in bed." He twists his head, calling out, "Hey can we get a nurse over here? This lady's bleeding!"

Crakehall's head starts to whip around and you pull your hand back, shoving off of him, out through the crowd.

You make it out past the majority of the crowd, only to hear a familiar voice, "Xiao?" Oh not now.

"Mrs Whitehill." You nod.

She twists a coil of hair around her finger nervously as the cops continue pulling up a police line. "You okay?" She asks nervously? "You're bleeding! And your mom said you were supposed to be at camp..." She purses her lips, before pointing at the hospital. "Do you know what's happening in there? Frank's in there... and all these cops say I can't get in."

Frank's in the hospital now? Her husband always seemed super healthy, being Carmena's trophy boyfriend, he spent all day working out.

>What's wrong with Frank?

seconding

You grab Rai by the shoulders, "Rai here is a camper, he had some family members who got hurt and ended up here, so Angie and I volunteered to bring him up to the city. He wanted to thank the nurses for patching him up is all."

Carmena makes a small "Aww." Before her eyes flit nervously back to the hospital.

"What happened to Frank?" You ask, glancing back over your shoulder.

She chews her lip a moment, stepping out of the way of a cop. "He... just collapsed one day. Don't know why." She gives a terse little smile. "He just... uh... went into a coma." She shakes her head, "Doctors can't explain it at all."

Angie ribs you slightly, a subtle shake of her head.

"They've got no idea?" You ask. "He didn't... you know, seem older or younger, or anything like that?"

She tilts her head, "No? Should he have?"

You shrug, "Just a rumour going around."

She chews her lip a little more, "W-well, if you're up in the city, would you like to come over for some pie? Doesn't seem like I'll be getting in to see Frank any time soon, does it?" She gives a nervous laugh.

You look at the other two, and they shrug, "Oh come on." Carmena whines, jostling her keys out of her purse. "I just made apple pie a few hours ago. Should be cooling off by the time we get to my place."

>No thanks, another time

If not, free pie! Wait is this a euphemism?

>Go along, Frank might have been got by a stand user, could look for clues

>Go along, Frank might have been got by a stand user, could look for clues

"Guys, you feel like some pie?" You ask the other two.

Rai mumbles something noncomittal, but Angie nods, "Yeah, starving, pie would just hit the spot right about now. Thanks Mrs mayor."

Carmena leads the way back to her horrid orange sedan, ducking a reporter as she gets in. A short drive later, she pulls up at her picket fence house, sighing up at the building.

"Alison's just left for college." She sighs, "Shame, she always loved talking to you Xiao."

The feeling only goes one way. That girl's insufferable, never talks about anything but horses or boy bands. "I'll see her another time." You mutter, as she bumps the front door open with her hip.

The smell of fresh apple pie drifts through the house, Angie craning her face up and inhaling deeply. "Hungry?" Your mother's friend asks.

Angie eagerly nods, "Okay, good to hear." She chuckles, "Just go get washed up and I'll get all three of you a nice big slice." She points up the stairs, "Not enough room in the kitchen sink though, mind using the upstairs one?" She asks Angie.

The blonde shrugs and follows her directions, while you scrub your hands off.

The house seems kinda dusty in places Carmena usually insists on keeping clean, the lounge room looks like no one's used it in a month, as you trudge into the kitchen.

You scrub out the wound that Celine left you with, binding it properly this time, fully aware it'll probably leave a nasty pucker mark scar when it heals over.

Rai clears his throat nervously as he cleans his hands off next to you. "Sorry about... everything." He mutters, his cheeks darkening. "I'm just a stupid kid... shouldn't have tried to... you know, in my room. I'll know my place from now on." He glances over his shoulder at you, thinking you aren't looking, before hurriedly looking away.

You give him a playful nudge, "You're cute Rai, and from what I just saw, you're gonna grow up into a real looker. Just don't rush it, okay?"

He hangs his head, groaning weakly. "Kay." He mutters, before adding quietly. "Stupid, stupid, stupid!"

You pat him on the back softly, "Don't beat yourself up. Trust me, it's not a no." His head sags lower still, seems like he needs a minute. "Angie's taking a while upstairs, I'm gonna go check on her, okay?"

He nods, and you leave him be, taking the stairs casually, examining the photos they've hung up. Been a while since you've been here. Alison seems to have got her braces taken out at least.

You head for the little bathroom, hearing water running heavily, you knock. "Yo, Angie? You drowning in there or something?"

You hear a muffled gurgle, and the soft flickering sounds of flames, the smell of smoke reaching your ears.

What the-

You rip the door open, Carmena holding Angies' face under the water in the rapidly filling bath, flames catching on the shower curtain next to them, a familiar knife lying abandoned on the floor, it's tip bloodied.

Carmena whips around when she hears you come in, eyes growing wide, she shoves Angies head down further, slamming her face into the bottom of the tub. "Now Xiao!" She holds her hands up placatingly, releasing Angie as the girl goes limp. "It's not what it looks like! She attacked me, with that knife over there! I was just protecting myself!"

She hauls the blonde girl's face up out of the water, unconscious, but still breathing for now.

You scoop the knife up, the familiar etchings engraved on the tip, which now you look at it seems to be a different metal to the rest of the blade. This is what Rai stabbed you with.

"Angie came at you with this, did she?" You ask, a petunia plant sitting on the windowsill above.

Carmena nods earnestly, "She's a little psycho I tell you! Just lunged at me once we were alone!"
