Previously - for a year we waged war on the Pacharnati Empire in Eyerdar, ultimately winning and splitting the territory of that nation between us and our allies as we agreed beforehand. The world is getting smaller - aside from us, our vassals and allies, there remain only two nations - the Barniju Spice Islands and the New Pajit Union. Both of those have not crossed us in any way so far and take part in foreign trade with no issue.
The NPU faced major defeat in their fight against the Empire and did not gain any new territories - that left more for us and our allies, of course.

We're either going to find something amazing or awaken a giant golem that's going to attack everything In sight

That wouldn't be that bad considering we have dynamite, as long as the golem is not a High INT super AI we would be able to fuck him up with a good planned take-down and even salvage some of his tech.

Over 600 rangers were sent into groups of 4 to 8 men. At the headquarters we established on the northern edge of the desert we've recieved a number of reports - it appears the mountains in this desert are rich in coal and gold among other things. At the eastern edge of the desert live michiki tribes, in the west and south there are some pajit settlements, the locals having found some decent-sized coal mines. Our rangers are trained in all terrain survival measures and the desert won't be able to kill them on its own - which is why we are now concerned, after three month of operations, with group 7's status - they sent us their last report three weeks ago and they're searching through the central parts, two weeks is enough time for them to report back. Another week's passed and all other groups are still actively reporting or have already completed their assignments and returned - all except group 7. Their last report was as follows: "Ranger group 7 report number 4 - day 41, within grid area 7 we had so far discovered nothing of note or value. Today we found signs of human activity - we're certain of it. Within a cave we found metal and glass - remnants of a constructio or building. We are continuing our investigation"

Ranger General Armsted called in groups 13 and 14 - 9 of our best rangers, experienced, willing and able. Mission briefing: "Grid 7 was given to ranger group 7 as the target area to conduct reconnaissance. This here's their last report - from one month ago. Grid 7 is in the central part of the desert, as far away from civilisation as you can get on this continent. Your task is to search for them, find any information on their whereabouts and what happened to them and bring them back if possible"
A report was recieved from groups 13 and 14 "HQ, we've located the cave site after 8 days of travel. Metal and glass remnants as they reported. They left signs pointing to their objective, it's deep in the desert. Coordinates described as follows..." That was 24 days ago, past appointed time for report submission. We've called in a blitzkrieger regiment, as many njordgales as Supereme Command can spare, light cavalry, all availabel ranger units, some infantry regiments and a few light artillery corps, a total of 20 000 men are being mobilized for this operation. Fortified camps have been established at several points on the desert edge, rangers have established a perimeter surrounding the target area. Our forces are ready, General Tarek and Ranger General Armsted will now lead them towards grid 7.

16 000 men marched on Grid 7 Along the way as we approached the range at which the missing groups had sent their last message we began to lose outlying patrols, vicious sandstorms came down upon us. Not that many men died from the head or the sand, but any group that split off from the main force sooon went missing and the storms contributed to that. We lost 740 men in three days, but we kept going. 16 days after departing from HQ we're now in the middle of grid 7 and at last - object sighted in the distance - a spire!
Brandon Torres

we should inform the SA and KE about this.

KE would be pissed off if we didn't inform them but we have to say it's our own operation and that we'll give them information as we please, we never know who to trust with the spires. You know they're always con-spiring
Angel Clark
So wait what're the spires, what do they do/what's inside them?
Nolan White
Agreed
Josiah Russell
I was hoping it was not this...
Well! No time to waste now, the longer we wait the more time they have to disperse and to destroy any documentation they might have.
both link are for the archives, start by the pol threads. tl;dr : Spire are where the conspiring fucks of this planet lives and they're a elusive race that we're trying to fight while they conspire against us.
Jacob Rivera
The spire's are constructs, dens of one of our gravest enemies. They use them to gather information, to control and manipulate societies in order to maintain their own power.
They were responsible for the pajit beginning to war with us, they also attempted to reverse engineer our technology for their own perverse use.
We must tread carefully, they have destroyed these before just to deny us the knowledge inside but seeing as this is their last... we might see their real strength.
Chase Adams
>but seeing as this is their last might not be, who knows what Veita and Ocras wilderness might hide

Approaching the spire we find no sign of human presence around. The spire is identical to what our records indicate all other spires were from the outside. Only one way in, it's locked so some old-fashioned force does the trick. As previous records indicated, there's office floors, storage floors, laboratories at the top and some quarters. Maps of all continents can be found, even charts to the top secret military island - rummaging around we find more heavily classified information from our own republic, but also from the Sunset Alliance, the Pacharnati Empire, the NPU and the Barniju isles. Information in regards to secret military development, deployment, national security, internal and external affairs. An entire library of books with information on the various races, their histories, languages and beliefs. Within their storage we find schematics for steamships, locomotives, dynamite, experimental rifle designs - all new technologies developed within our nation, some of which are closely guarded secrets! There's also information on SA rocket artillery development, kaichou rail transport innovations and experimental weapon designs we didn't know of. Interestingly the information available on the kaichou government stops at a certain level - the imperial cabinet and most importantly - the God-Emperor. Dossiers are available on various top government officials, reports of secret societies that are established through the lands. These documents are also marked with levels of classification, the top ones pertaining to secret societies, agreements and top military secrets at levels designated as "Palace" "Fortress" "Market" "Prince" "King" and such. We find evidence of a top level clearance designated as "God" - no such documents are available here, their existence is only implied. Further search continues
Jordan Torres
this implicates the KE?? have we been duped by them for centuries?
Kevin Martin
Ah, nah I haven't seen all the previous threads sorry. Will check em out.
Right on, let's kick their ass.
Christian Torres
if the Emperor is against us this would be worst since they have been partially adopting a political system close to us, so i guess we did counter the spires in a way. But informing KE about this might not be the smartest play now guys.
Jaxon Smith
They might not be able to get anything on them didn't the ORGINIZATION assassinate one Of their emperors a while back the kaichou likely upgraded their security
Jonathan Bennett
Rolled 56 (1d100)
We find a pair of keys that lead to an underground level - a prison and interrogation room! We discover the remains of our missing rangers in various cells, in the interogation room we find one of the rangers tied to a chair, his throat slit and with wounds across his face and body. On the walls behind the dead ranger large letters, written in blood, read: "WE HAVE AWOKEN"
Juan Bailey
It all makes sense. The God emperor could only claim such a title if he was helped by the "chosen people".
Kayden Davis
>Assassinate one of their leader >put a leader that's part of the Organization instead It adds up >"WE HAVE AWOKEN" get ready for WW1 boys

well shit, time to prep with all out war against everyone. I think it would be best to assume that we will be alone, and the primary enemy is probably KE and SA who have been very close recently.
Everyone? Should we head back to the homeland and just prepare to defend it and hunker down?
Mason Bell
After a thorough search of the spire we find the entrance to a secret underground tunnel. The entryway is collapsed, judging by the fact that we've found no living humans around it is most likely an escape tunnel of sorts. Engineers determine that further use of explosives would collapse the tower - its foundations have already been stirred by the previous detonations that have occured, its a wonder it didn't collapse then.
Check the bottom part of the pastebin for the excerpt on the God Emperor's encounter with the Organisation. This is the information we were given from the imperial government when we first signed our alliance. Our men have completed their search of the spire. We've recovered all documents, items and the remains of our rangers. If you want to do anything with the shaky remains of the building, say along with your vote.

more safety protocols >burn all records that aren't in a safe archive >hold everybody who works in the gov as a hostage >publicly execute traitors in the worse way possible >give bounties for people who denounce people with proof (but little they know investigation will also investigate those who denunciated) simple really to reduce the amount of traitor we need to detect them more and incite people to defect less.
Brody Russell
That'd definitely work.
No trials for traitors? Just straight-up execution? I feel they'd be wanting us to instill fear among the populace.
Charles Ortiz
It seams the kaichou have made great advances into steam power and rail transport.Their rail program seeks to make their trains pass through great underground tunnels to traverse mountains, hills and other harsh terrain - our railroad construction capabilities have increased, more distant targets are now accessable. The kaichou have made advances in metallurgy as they are also producing cheap and strong steel, but they are also have designs for steam warships, clad in iron! Military research in the past years resulted in the creation of a new pistol - the revolver. Our current models are capslocks and loaded as muzzle-loaders, but gun manufacturers have begun taking more interest in these guns, which are finding a wider market, Their advantage over older pistols is in their accuracy and a capacity of multiple metal balls, though reloading is done in a fairly slow, old-fashioned manner.

Information leaks from almost all levels of the government need to be adressed - national security is at a risk. What measures shall we enact: A.Harsh national security laws, open surveilance on all levels of government, public executioins for traitors - drastic measures B.Reshuffle cabinet, increase funding for national security and secret service, more secretive counter-espionage actions - be more subtle C.Another suggestion
