First for "WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE FAQS???"

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

3rd for Malakim Pharos. This thread weeps.

FOR THOSE WE CHERISH, WE DIE IN GLORY.

This thread belongs to me Cato Sicarius and the ultramarines

Suck it boy, you'll have to wait until 8th edition.

FAQS LATER TODAY GET HYPE

Proof?

...

PREPARE FOR POINTLESS FAQS CLARIFING SHIT THAT DOESN'T NEED TO BE CLARIFIED!

[SPOILER]Sorry, i just prefer to be pessimistic, and then get a pleasant surprise if they DON'T fuck up, rather than hope for rainbows and flowers and be horribly disappointed. GW have failed me too much.[/]

>SPOILER
Fuck you phone.

the sky is falling, the Lamenters own the thread, the planets have aligned. As the prophets have foretold, when these signs come so comes the FAQ

mfw I learned how to do spoiler blocks by watching people fuck it up.

I'd rather wait a week longer and have FAQs where the developers understand the underlying issues than one of them answered the questions during lunch.

>FAQ's are released
>all eldar D weapons are FAQed and their previous stats return
>only wraithknigth heavy distortion cannons and sword remain S:D
What would be Veeky Forums thoughts about this?1636

Make it so it goes back to one heavy weapon per 3 jetbikes and you've got yourself a deal.

As long as windrider heavy weapons aren't returned to 1:3 its irellevant.

>I'd rather wait a week longer and have FAQs where the developers understand the underlying issues than one of them answered the questions during lunch.

Wrong game for you then.

I want to make a group of wolf lords for my army, cuz it's cool and because i want to field different commanders based on the situation.

Help me come up with them

They don't need to be powerful or effective, they just need to be cool.

I already have:

>chapter master with pistol and power sword
>terminator lord with axe and shield
>lord on bike with power lance and sword
>lord with jump pack and claw/fist combo

I want at least two more, but i want them to be different from the others

Give me some cool ideas

Maybe wait for the Saturday Website Update?

What "previous profile" do D-scythes return to?

>Old general image
I get it if you dislike Tauface and Chicken, but Genestealer deserves to stay.

Im carefully optimistic - the FAQs will come but they will probably come later than sooner.

>wolf lord
>chapter master
Eh?

Anyway, how about a gunslinger? Everybody loves gunslingers.

no

>eh?
Well they're not technically sw, so i don't use named characters

>gunslinger
Intetesting. What weapon should i give him? Plasma/bolt pistol combo? Dual bolt pistols? Combi-weapon?

You mean... Shas'la Shas'ka?

Speaking of gunslingers, why isn't there a Cowboy Marines chapter?

White Scars

Swag/5, would fight against.... with my infantry IG. Have fun rerolling all those 5+!

Because "power armour" and "specialises in light firearms such as pistols" is a very silly combo.

Is it just me, or does giving tactical marines crappier equipment than less experienced Assault Marines and Devastators seem kinda dumb?

It's just you.

>silly
>in 40k
I don't understand what you're saying.

But user, you have to remember that 40k is very silly game with very strong rule of cool.

Tactical marines are only generalists in that they don't bother to carry much specialist gear, not in that they're actually well equipped beyond their armour and assault rifle.

30k Moritat says hello

I once put down 40 plasma pistol shots into a marine blob.

That was before they nerfed it into total uselessness.

Losing their unique rapid fire rule has been hurting tactical marines and terminators since third edition.

tank shock homie

Ok guys, added a plasma pistol gunslinger at my wolf lord roster. Hellfrost pistols don't exist so i'll settle for the next best thing.
Need a last one.

Maybe another ranged guy? Something something flames

>light firearms such as pistols

Pistols that can fire 19mm explosive rockets, energy bolts that punch through all forms of infantry armour and light vehicle, beams that crush you with your own weight, and pistols that can reduce tanks to ruin. Yes, light firearms indeed.

WE made a good decision hiring a studio painter. His paintjobs are amazing.

I'd settle for confirmed points and statlines for the new Ork flyer. Seriously how can so much of the WD leak but not the most important parts?

Yes, Lord sarcasmo. Light firearms.

Because fucking duh, medium and heavy arms are bigger and better by definition, higher tech base than we have.

Cause the stats weren't in it.
It's a teaser for the full book.

Wait, they want us to buy the whole goddamn supplement just to be able to use the two new models?

That can't possibly be right.

And the new dogfight phase.

And updated rules for ALL* the flyers!

*except FW flyers.

Lighter than a laspistol? Autopistol? Lasgun? Autogun? Stub gun? Heavy stubber? Shotgun? Rotor cannon?

There's a whole slew of big and small weapons that pack less of a punch than some pistols. You can have a dude with a minigun that can't even hurt the lightest of vehicles, while something like an inferno pistol can blow up land raiders.

Goddamn, it is getting SUPER FUCKING CROUDED in the general image.

>Wait, they want us to buy the whole goddamn supplement just to be able to use the two new models?
>That can't possibly be right.

You DO remember who the publisher is right?

Well its not totally useless, you cant just go OP with plasma pistols anymore.

With 2 spartans? Try mowing your through the field when faced with 6 rerolling, ignores cover/LoS tank hunting armorbane S10 ap1 blast-shots per turn.

They should probably make Tac marines the bottom rung after scout rather than the fourth rank up desu.

You're pretty good.

>s10 blasts
you mean s8 blasts, ceramite + flareshield gives no fucks

also 4 psychers give no fucks. warpmetal makes them av15/15/15

Oh it's no secret why Tactical marines kinda suck;

It's because you need basic troops for a wargame. Even if they're a super elite mega-SEAL army, you need grunts to stand up front to fill that troop tax.

The awkward part is that the fluff fluffs them up as veterans, but then has seperate super-veterans with access to better equipment and stats.

Spartans cant have Flare Shields in 40k. And you're playing 40k right? You have centurions.

(also S8+Armorbane+Tankhunter is still ~75% chance to cause a pen against AV15)

>genestealer rep is just a lazy re-edit of the guardsman sprite

invisible anyway

You can bitch when you can do better.

One of them is invisible. The other gets murdered what now.

The rules will be included in the Box of the model, just like they started doing recently.

>The other gets murdered what now.
pick up the terrain the spartan and cents were in, throw it 24 inches, blow up everything with grav

>mfw this was completely fine in 2nd edition because being able to double-tap, having powered armour and their ability to largely ignore break tests made them rather unique among troop units
>veterans had the exact same gear and rules but BS/WS/I 5 because being veterans just meant they were the best at what they do
sternguard/vanguard were a mistake

God damnit, they nerfed it? I never read the FAQ updates. It sucks as even if I did get a 30k game, I'd end up using the book rules and not the FAQ ones. That means I need to buy a tablet...

...

What if they gave the Sternguard rules as-is to Tacticals, and made Sternguard themselves just "first company" with WS/BS 5?

Of course, that leaves no jump pack vets... Maybe make "First company: WSBS5 and Move to Elites" avaliable to both tacs and assault marines?

What about Devastator Vets? Those don't seem to exist for some reason.

Veteran status should have just been a squad-wide upgrade for non-terminator squads. Make you take them as elites, but with the WS/BS/I buff.

For that matter, terminators should have WS/BS 5 again. They're terminators. They used to be BS6 thanks to their in-built targeters, too.

Hey I served my time, Don't make carry that heavy shit around no more

Arent there also Vanguard?

When the moon comes out, space marine players begin to howl.

Space wolves have them, and you could say IF do too or they at least recieve more than just basic training.

Dunno; I can't run a government or economy very well, but I know damn good & well running it almost entirely for the benefit of an infinitesimal minority to the active detriment of s majority is a bad idea.

Normally the the line of promotions for a basic marine is Scouts -> Devastators -> Assault -> Tactical.

For space wolves its Blood Claws -> Grey Hunters -> Long Fangs.

So for normal marines its "Keep out of the way and shoot things" and for SW its "You now know NOT to rush into melee so shoot things"

dual plasma if you can
It may kill him, it may make no sense, but goddam its cool

Devcents?

i remember when dual plasma pistol wolf guard in pods was a thing..

If a model has two pistols, can it fire both at the same turn if it has only one attack? What if it has more?
What if they're different types? Do you apply both weapon stats or only one?

With SW scouts being the antisocial old coots.

That's one thing I really like about the SW

Gunslinger rule allows you to fire both at one target, whatever the profiles of both pistols are.

Gunslinger rule: You can fire two pistols per turn in your shooting phase. Has nothing to do with your attacks.

Quickdraw: This model makes snapshots, including overwatch, at BS2. Model not limited to firing overwatch once each phase (may still only fire once per eligible target). If this model is not in base contact with an enemy model, but is locked in combat at the start of his initiative subphase, he gains +D3 attacks.

CQB: Model may make its Pile In move in any direction as long as it remains in unit coherency and is not required to move towards enemy. During the Fight subphase, if model is not in Base Contact with an enemy model after pile, it may exchange each available close combat attack with a snapshot using his weapons' shooting profiles, against any unit he is locked in combat with. Alternately, the model may exchange all close combat attacks for a normal round of shooting at full BS against any unit, regardless of whether or not it is locked in combat.

Apparently they never give cent suits to veterans.

Kinda makes you wonder why tactical cents aren't a thing.

Mobility. Devs are fine being slow since they can sit back and lay down long range fire. But Tacs need to move from objective to objective, they can't afford the slowdown a Centurion suit would cause.

Is blob guard an auto lose these days or can you win with effective use of psykers, cover, orders, etc?

Infantry (Character)

Yes which is why Assault centurions is even more ridiculous.

A hybrid variant with one ranged arm and one Melee arm would make a fuck ton more sense than pure assault.

Released today by FW. (Pic related)

Thoughts?

Isn't that Terminators?
Basic gun, 1:5 heavy weapon.

but then they're just a bigger terminator

Pretty cool. I dig medic characters.

They might though, it could just take all the veterans skill to operate all the suits guns.

Assault centurions are mostly for boring a hole in a building or bunker and setting everything inside on fire. They aren't made for punching moving targets.

What's the exact name of the official 40k facebook group? Can't find the fucking thing to check for FAQ news.

You wanna know why I hate Leman Russ?
It's not because of his boner-inducing penchant for teamkilling.
It's not because of his hypocrisy in regards to Nikea and psykers.
It's not because of his inability to back up his boastful nature (see his fights with Lion El'Jonson and Angron).
It's because immediately upon swearing fealty to the Emperor as the 2nd found primarch he had to upstage Horus and his LUNA WOLVES with his own superlative legion title.
Two "official" fucking legions in and we have the Luna Wolves and the Space Wolves.
What a fucking douchebag.
