So what are you current impressions ? I think it's cool that you get so many weapon options (didn't expect the Mace of Absolution in a vidya) but I'm worried about the enemy variety: genestealers, hybrids and one boss ? I hope they add Orks as well.
The game isn't even out and you're already complaining about the enemy variety?
That said, dropping out of Uni and getting a jerb to buy a new PC for this.
Jacob Ramirez
Complaining would be if I said it's shit because there's not enough enemies. I'm worried that they didn't show many and the table top Space Hulk isn't know for it's enemy variety, hence I hope they will add more.
Gavin Powell
>Gav Thorpe
WHHHHHHY
Matthew Bell
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited for this. EYE was fucking rad and it looks like they stepped up for this one
Anthony Thomas
If you're a Librarian, do you have psychic powers?
Angel Bailey
Because he is the baseline of acceptable fluff. At least from what I've read of his stuff. Never anything particularly good, but always serviceable.
William Hall
I think there was a warrior or something in there too. Starting at about 1:40.
Blake Cook
>He never read last chancers
Dominic Mitchell
I know they made up some specific types of stealers like the venom-spitter, Idk how many types tho
Justin Ward
There can't be warriors, must have been an armoured stealer or a broodlord
Ryder Ortiz
>one boss There were a couple of big-looking Genestealers in there besides the Broodlord though
Asher Jackson
How is enemy variety something to be worried about? I mean, you obviuosly approach the game because of genestealers coming out of the walls in droves. This is literally like complaining about aliens being in a game where you play as a colonial marine.
Parker Morgan
>1:50 Your legs are broken!
Cooper Myers
so what are the chances of warp fuckery in the endgame levels?
this is the studio that brought us EYE after all

It's one of the worst 40k book series written. Thorpe doesn't even know how Dark Angels work, writes dogshit plots similar to M. Knight Shyamalan. The third book in particular was a steaming pile of bullshit with Cypher being made out as a full marry sue and Thorpe pointlessly inserting WHAT A TWEEEEESTS in for the sake of just shitting up the plot.
Plus then there's all the shit he completely fucked up, like Ravenwing deploying onto a space station, Ravenwing abandoning all their bikes and landspeeders, Ravenwing having their Librarian trying to scan a god damn daemon world for through the warp, Deathwing teleporting through the warp to land on the daemon world, INVADING A DAEMON WORLD, and then more or less every single god damn thing from the third book.
Thorpe not only needs to stop writing dark angels, but stop writing entirely. His prose is utter shit and he seems to either not care about other people's work or outright fucking ignore it, or even shit on somebody else's work because he's completely yandere for the First Legion. Even his non-DA shit isn't much better. Old man needs to fucking retire. Forcibly if need be.
Ryder King
>INVADING A DAEMON WORLD, and then more or less every single god damn thing from the third book.
Que?
Crusade of Fire features rules for invading daemon worlds, and so does the "Path to Glory" 40K mini-game.
Eldar, Necrons, admech, other traitors, and even the space marines of the abyssal crusade have invaded daemon worlds in the fluff. So why are you against it?
Are you racist?
Chase Sanchez
AAAH YEAH. Dark Angels getting the attention they deserve!
I hope we get to hunt fallen.
Cooper Myers
>Old man needs to fucking retire. Forcibly if need be.
There is a few issues with that. Gav is the loremaster of the Eldar and Elves(now Aelves). GW is quick to consult him whenever they need to mess around with long eared lore. That means they still need him around.
No Chapter would invade a motherfucking Daemon World by teleportation without an assload of support backing them up, including Grey Knights. Anything else is SUICIDE. Not to mention the WHOLE ENDEAVOR was POINTLESS.
Oliver Miller
What kind of attention do traitors deserve?
Evan Morgan
Except he's dogshit with Eldar lore too. Path of the Eldar was garbage so dry it burst into flame without my need to even find a light.
Aaron Collins
The Vorpal Swords did.
They cleansed an unknown number of daemon worlds in the Eye on their lonesome.
Julian Carter
>His prose is utter shit
While i probably agree with you about the deamonworld... however the rest of it is just poetic licence. Things have to happen... mistakes etc. Everything cant stay still. Characters have to have flaws, otherwise its unrealistic.
Ayden Rogers
>Writer: Gav Thorpe
Fuckin Dropped.
Evan Mitchell
I am both excited and afraid. If it's good that's great but if it's bad than it's probably going to a be a lot longer before we get another 40k shooter. I liked Space Marine but I can't keep playing it forever, and everyone that still plays it online is a hundred times better than me.
Jordan Campbell
Only Thorpe can barely write. He's a hack author and incapable of doing anything with any finesse. Thorpe needs to be fired out of quality control, along with McNeil while they're at it. What the Black Library really needs to do is get fucking Andy Chambers back and hire some completely new staff who are actually quality authors who don't spam godawful books.
James Long
Last Chancers is excellent.
Nolan Reyes
>no orks >slow spess mahreens despite no use of power fists or thunder hammers The game looks awesome, immersive and very faithful, but i'm still a bit worried it won't last for long after you start.

I add spice to my Dark Angels characters by making them all jewish.
I think the jewishness fits well with the 'secret knowledge' side of things.
>treating everyone else as a goyim
His name was Luminon Cohanim. He was an Assault marine. This was before /pol/. I'll admit that i dont know much about jewish lore, but it was enough to make them interesting. If i was an actor, id deliberatly steal character traits from them to enhance my character.
William Mitchell
They are native american
Brayden Williams
wouldn't centurions make more sense in a cqc situation like a spacehulk?
Tyler Howard
>They are native american
I understand the feathers... but how do lions make sense...
What am i talking about... ive read one of the books and i own the 3rd ed codex. They arnt native americans.
Henry Moore
Depends of the Hulk, i think Terminator armour provides a better enviorimental protection if i remember correctly.
Noah Cooper
Good luck fitting them in a corridor
Chase Cruz
siege drills
they don't look that much bigger than terminators though
James Taylor
dark angels don't have centurions
Evan Thompson
>EYE team is developing the game can't wait to get my suit hacked by an AI while a genestealer breaks my augmetic legs
Levi White
Sure, siege drills, but then you have the rest of the corridor and your head is in one room, your body beneath it, your left leg is in a different corridor...
Nathan Murphy
darn. index astartes lied to me.
>Designed as siege breakers and for the close quarters of boarding actions, Centurions are heavy exo-armour suits used by specialist Space Marine formations. Incorporating either close range weapons like siege drills and heavy flamers or heavy weapons like lascannons and heavy bolters making each Centurion a formidable adversary.
Elijah Jackson
Well, for bunker busting sure. But i don't see them fighting that good against a Genestealer. Fuckers could drop from the ceiling, rip his head off easily since its more close to the ceiling and call it a day.
Jose Price
There is an old comic where it is shown that a Dark Angel librarian is a native american.
Oliver Lee
close quarters of boarding action does not apply to spacehulks?
Thomas Cox
Space Hulks are more Chaotic than a Chaos Vessel on a bad day. Although a Centurion would fare better than a Terminator squad in some parts would lack in others, at least in my opinion.
Leo Cooper
Though GW may be unoriginal, at least they try to have more than a single inspiration source for each faction.
>lascannons in spaceship cqc That seems counter-intuitive.
Wyatt Hughes
You need to realise something fundamental about centurions.
They make no sense and are shoehorned in to make kids buy the next bigger badder model as such even by gw standards the fluff makes no sense, there role is illogical and the models are fucking stupid.
You know what Terminator armour is also called? Tactical Dreadnought Armour.
Terminator armour is about one man heavy armour worn as the next stage between standard armour and having to call in Armoured support, weather that's a dreadnought or a tank. Or armour to.be worn in heavy assaults.
Centurions are basically just a stupid idea probably inspired by the big armour in Iron Man and a hack writer who hasn't had a decent idea since his balls dropped and pushed out by a company who cannot into maintaining a level of verisimilitude in its creation, relying on its fans mindless purchasing to buy whatever retarded concept it comes up with.
40k may always have been stupid but it was at least stupid in a consistent way. Models like the centurion merely prove it's run buy idiots who grew up solely on a diet of 40k rather than a wide variety of scifi and real life inspiration.
Landon Sanchez
Here are some recent info from the devs on some french forum:
>Story is co-written by Streum On but Gav changed some things because it was a little somehow too confusing like in E.Y.E
>You can expect some Deathwatch in the game
>Game is more tactical than Vermintide (SWAT 4 a reference)
Christopher Campbell
>Game is more tactical than Vermintide (SWAT 4 a reference) I rike it
Jaxon Gray
I wish I had my picture folder from before my last HD failure. There's a Fisher Price Rescue Heroes fireman figure with an exo-suit that's a dead ringer for a Centurion. It's a fucking cartoon toy for four-year-olds. DevCents and ASSPENNIES were yet another bridge too far.
Isaiah Watson
>Gav changed some things because it was a little somehow too confusing like in E.Y.E
THEY TRIED.
Carson Mitchell
>too confusing like in E.Y.E
Aaron Jackson
I love E.Y.E., but 200 hrs in, multiple wiki dives / message board threads, and people flat out explaining it and I STILL don't know what the fuck is going on. Except that I'm gaining brouzouf.
Carson Gray
can you explain what is wrong with Last Chancers? I read them years ago and it seemed okay It was long ago though
Angel Brooks
Just go where there are triangles and shoot stuff
Robert Thomas
this looks really boring
>spray and pray guns >barely moving enemies >barely moving players
slooooooooooooow. may as well play the tabletop space hulk.
Xavier Wright
Those walking animations are just atrocious. Like I know that's a minor thing to grope about, especially since I've been pretty hype about this game, but shiiit.
Kevin Torres
it's not a minor thing. it's literally present in the game 24/7. why is it so overdone?
David Parker
What's the problem, exactly? Not enough upper body movement? Too clunky looking?
They look like astronauts walking, which isn't far off from the concept of a TDA suit.
Jason Carter
Partially the upper body thing, but it seems like the legs clip into each other, they just kind of waddle, and I can't decide if the walking looks too mechanical or not mechanical enough.
Adam White
This might sound weird but I think the problem is that their buttplates don't move as they walk. This means that their hips and torso don't twist with each step and makes them appear mechanical and clunky. As mentioned this also leads to clipping issues with the thigh plates.
Ian Anderson
> my legs are ok.
Angel Edwards
Not anymore. That past has been completely retconned, not to mention that the Dark Angels are European Catholic as shit. They cover themselves in angelic iconography, fetishize idols, and all have Hebrew names.
Luke Wright
Can i gain brouzouf in this game?
If it dosh, its shit
Logan Scott
>THERE AREN'T ENOUGH WIGGLING MANBUTTS IN THIS GAME
Okay bro.
Leo Watson
Honestly, I just want to know if I can use my power sword in my right hand. Give me that and all of the money is yours.
Liam Mitchell
Fuck yeah Path of the Dark Eldar was amazing. Wish he would write more about the space elves.
Thomas Turner
You are playing an inferior Sven mod clone and you paid for it. Worse, you put in 200 hours into it. For what the story means, simply nothing, because they are shit writers who think that throwing vague stuff at you with no clear vision is clever and becasue they had to rework how you are supposed to progress in the story a few week before release, leaving lots of unresolved hooks left and right.
Gabriel Morris
>Game is more tactical than Vermintide (SWAT 4 a reference) This is the same shit they are saying from years. Everything is supposed to be as tactical as SWAT 4, but in the end it isn't given how EYE worked. At best, we'll get the worst part of SWAT, which means wooden AI which can barely handle its tasks.
Thomas Kelly
>i dont know much about jewish lore >Jewish lore

Charles Torres
>Gav changed some things to make it less like E.Y.E DEATH

>>Story is co-written by Streum On but Gav changed some things because it was a little somehow too confusing like in E.Y.E It would have been so great!
Other elements contained in the thread: >Devs are massive fans, they insisted to get Dark Angels instead of the overused Blood Angels as a nod for the old boardgame. >game was made with modding in mind (.ini everywhere) >maps shown represent a level that you can explore freely (according to interview there is a lot of secrets/lost relics in the levels for those that like exploration) >Stealers can run on walls. It's only in some specific (non-scripted) cases, and they'll do it less often than the aliens in AvP2. Reading between the lines, they are lacking in time for AI/animation programming. >sprint to charge filthy xenos. >termies are supposed to be as fast as unarmored humans, but with a heavier walk. >They're testing it with VR helmets >you won't be able to play a stealer when you die in coop' (tested, it didn't work well). >No other chapters DLCs for now >eventually map DLCs/patches, for coop. (EYE got a free DLC) >DEATHWATCH INCLUDED IN THE GAME >There was a "kick" key ala Duck Nukem, but it was included as a joke and they've removed it. >they want to have a good feeling and sound with firearms, like in EYE (but a bit more hardcore, with more recoil) >customizable FOV, wide by default, can be reduced (not augmented so it doesn't mess with body awareness) GIven the choice, Streumon would have made a fps/rpg about an Inquisitor, or a Road Rash (bike racing) with Orks
Also, weapons will include (with unrevealed surprises) : >Storm bolter >Heavy flammer >Assault canon >Plasma canon >Storm bolter Hellfire >Storm bolter shotgun thingie >Plasma Blaster lookalike >Autocanon lookalike Melee >Power Fist >Chain First >Force Sword >Force Axe >Lightning claws >Thunder Hammer and Shield >Deathwing power mace
HD configuration: CPU i7 3930 RAM 16 go GPU GTX 580 : 3Go
Juan Lopez
>Accuracy stat >large spread >recoil
Its like they are really trying to make a game about space marine terminators while ignoring what terminators are.
Terminators are essentially are armoured and portable weapons platforms designed to accommodate a specific variety of weapons that can be attached to them. No one would spend time, effort, and resources to make a weapons platform that didn't stabilize the weapons it was designed for.
I really don't think they are conveniently forgetting why terminators can one hand heavy weapons. It is more likely for game balance, but that is just a way of copping out. They might as well say: >Well we wanted to make a game about terminators, but we have no idea how to accommodate terminators into our pre-existing idea of the game, so lets just yell game balance and change terminators however we want! It's just lazy.
Julian Wright
It's like all they can do is redoing their old mod over and over again. And it seems this is further proof.
Josiah Adams
Yeah, they should have just made Metal Wolf Chaos, but with Terminators.
Dominic Turner
Centurions are used if the Chapter lacks enough Terminators or Dreadnaughts to field them as they please. Plus it doesn't require as much specialized training as those two, is easier to make and the Marine can ditch it once it serves it's purpose or for some reason can't be used anymore.
Joseph Davis
a game where you move slow and fire at precise accuracy 24/7 would be boring as anything. may as well be playing duck hunt.
Angel Morris
>I know more about terminators than then people making a game about terminators: the post >no terminator has ever had less than laser point accuracy with their storm fucking bolters designed to fill an area with so much ammo the enemy can't avoid being shot

They. Are. Retarded.

>FPS Dropped like tungsten rods from orbit

I pretty much guarantee that Ork and Chaos infested hulks will be DLC.
James King
How did you not know it was an FPS until just now?
Henry Rivera
Didn't even know about the game until right now tbqf family.
Leo Wright
Pretty sure the Raven Guard are the Native Americans. Dark Angels seemed pretty knightly to me, like Knights Templar level ish.
Robert Martin
>Mods >Deathwatch
That alone makes it worth a day 1 buy. Thanks user.
GET HYPE LADS!
Jaxson Nelson
They are firing heavy weapons one handed in full-auto. People without a terminator armr wouldn't even be able to do that, so I'm expecting a bit of recoil. Even a tank shakes when it fires. And termies aren't really about long range accuracy. The only weapon that is made for long distance engagments is the Cyclone missile launcher, and it's a saturation weapon. On a sidenote, a terminator with the missile pods would be fun to have in the game.
But if it really irks you, you'll be able to remove it by changing the values. Focus marketing team did that for the E3 gameplay presentation, and I don't think they're haxxors. Also, the termie firing his Stormbolter in the trailer has damaged right arm, resulting in a loss of accuracy.
For the "EYE weapons feel but with more recoil" bit, EYE allowed you to use pistols and submachine guns to duel with snipers if you had the right implants. And I don't want to play terminators with aimbot-grade accuracy by default. If it's done well, it will be a survival horror game as much as a FPS, and as such should be messy.
Cooper Myers
>Bike racing with Orks
Make it happen Streum On.

Why ;_;
Cameron Thompson
Having a voice menu for quick communication would be pretty VGCA VGS
Evan Collins
All the good space hulk video games are FPS.
Charles Murphy
This is so harmless and fun I can't fucking imagine why it would be removed besides snobbish no-fun busy bodies. Hopefully there will at least be a talk menu like in Tribes or TF2.
Camden Butler
Fire Warrior did that for the multiplayer. It was pretty cool playing as a marine because of it, since they had that helmet distortion.
Jonathan Edwards
Dat uppercut.
BTW, did you guys notice that the stormbolters of your teammates have no magazine in half of the trailer? I wonder why.
Things seen on other videos: >Automatic defense turrets (and servitors?) that attack you. >librarian powers wheel, with 7 powers, including Vortex of Doom, Inferno, Sponteneous combustion, Chain Lightning, Lion's Shadow, and two others. >Another wheel, labelled environment, for orders I suppose, with things like Defend, Follow, Move To, Health (the apothicary heals part of the damage you suffered) >What looks like a Black Templar chapel. >Some kind of staff weapon, probably a force staff. >aim mode with IR signatures appearing. >big stealer equipped with Scything Talons, called "Assault form" by a teammate, doesn't look like a Broodlord. >zealous teammates screaming "for the emprah" and "fear my wrath, xenos".
Samuel Carter
Chances are there's going to be a host of variant biomorph-using stealers. We've seen a bunch of different body shapes already.
Anyways power fist + storm bolter is love. Best terminator armament.
