Maw-krusha is CUTE!

>Tiny-minded and short-sighted, the thuggish Maw-krushas barrel across the landscape pulverising anything in their way, be it trees, settlements or screaming people. Their bellow is loud enough to rupture organs, pop eyeballs and pulverise bones. They are even capable of a semblance of flight with their stubby wings, though it has been suggested that this is more the result of gravity not wanting to mess with them. Most creatures have the good sense to steer well clear of Maw-krushas, but not the Ironjawz. At first, Maw-krushas were a chance for brave Ironjawz to prove their mettle – often with fatal results. Then, some Megabosses managed to ‘tame’ a Maw-krusha, either by yelling right back into their face or clambering up on their back where they couldn’t reach them and battering them about the head until they submitted. Maw-krushas never truly accept their riders and need constant reminding of who is in charge. Fortunately, the monsters enjoy smashing stuff just as much as Ironjawz do, and can be distracted by a good fight.

Goddamn.

Here's your (You)
Here's your (You)

Attention seekers. How many times have you posted these pics now, you sad cases?

Where are thou red army ?

This is it lads, Age of Sigmar is taking off.

$$

You know its bait right? Its all reposts.

No more bait than any of the other sad, desperate losers who pretend this game is doing well.

You erased your address this time, well done.

oooh you get antmore catty, we'll have to give you ears and a tail darling.

Repostan just this once for new thread. Ghoul reboxing/rebasing next, then silver tower.

Praise Tzeentch

Hey guys. So I got a question for you. Where do you think all this AoS releasing is going?

We've had a couple of decent bursts of army releases and it seems to be filling out nicely. What happens when they run out of stuff? So for instance, when the NewElves are released in a big burst and the old stuff that needs replacing is done.

Do you think we'll see some more new armies? given that an army these days could be quite small, such as fatdwaves or treepeople. Or do you think they'll pick the more popular mini armies and expand them? so more fatdwarves if people like them, or more trees etc?

I guess historically GW don't run out of stuff to release, seeing as we've got plenty of 6th ed minis right now still in existance. How's 40k doing for "rereleases"? seeing as that's the more popular product.

>Sad, desperate losers
>Shitposts in a thread for a game they dont like

My petplay fetishes aside, this game could stand to be better.

>I have a Forest Spirit Warhost, 3 Treekin and a third unit of Dryads all boxed up ready to be made.

I'm not even going to take a picture and say "Brown army best army" because I know deep down it isn't even close.

Nature shall treefuck all of you though

Once the old wfhfb races are finished with their releases, they will release new AoS races.

From what Ive been told, all the stuff coming out now was made years ago, so it depends on what theyve got sitting behind the scenes waiting to be released. I feel we're going to see new slants on existing armies, like the Orruks and Fyreslayers. These are all the AoS-style reworks of existing lines. I dont think we'll see new races as such, because what we're getting now is tangent to existing lines.

One is wasting their time, and one is playing AoS, thus wasting time AND money.

My gruntas mold was made in 2015 as per the sprue.... so they are planning all this for a long time.

I don't think all models will be updated "fast".
Whfb had horrendous minis like the still going 20 years later gobelin chariot, snot linge pump chariot, skaven gutter runner...

I don't think they will update all mini before at least 8 years

Agreed. Old orc chariot with the 1980s boars is still "AoS-proof," since it's in the Start Collecting Greenskinz box.

Khorne?

I respect the dangus who runs trees though.

It takes a man with tact and class to do so.

Give Josh a break, he needs to do the marketing as GW won't.

I think theres going to be a lot of models labelled as 'still good' for AoS, like the chariot and the basic orcs. I think a lot of AoS releases for the next while will be focussed on replacing as much finecast as possible and bringing out newer, flashier specialist units, like the Ironjaws.

Then we'll see enough new releases for all tthe current factions so that units like empire halberders just pass into obscurity.

Then over time I think we'll see a move to phase out a lot of the pleb units like the old black orcs in favor of myre dynamic models like the ironjaws.

I do hope they get some more units, especially since they cut the Tree Kin for some reason.
For now I can put up with using the old Tree Kin rules, and the occasional Great Eagle to represent angry woodland critters, but it would be nice to have some more supported variety.
Just one other kind of unit that isn't a monster would make me happy for now.

What keeps the game from being a "run into the middle and everyone punches everyone" game? I like the idea of pick up and go games that dont take itself seriously, but what distinguishes the game?

Having a decent amount of terrain that all have AoE effects going on I believe would circumvent the whole rushing down the middle.
Or making objectives rather than having it be a deathmatch straight up as in there can be alternative ways to win.

What comp builder is the most common one, and are orcs any decent? Can I still use my old knights from betonnia/empire?

>What comp builder is the most common one
There was just a tournament that used SGCT, so I imagine that one is popular

>are orcs any decent?
The new ones certainly are. I don't think any of the armies are "bad" except maybe Fyreslayers run on their own, but otherwise I am not that familiar with Orcs.

>Can I still use my old knights from betonnia/empire?
Yes, their rules are in their PDF, and you can still use them,

Still assembling my skellingtons, but many of my once Fantasy- now AoS buds have been testing the comps and found that Clash pool/ SCGT has been the best in terms of army building and some of the rules. Haven't tried me self but soon.

Not exactly age of sigmar but Blightknights had 2012 on their sprues, and I heard some khorne guys had even 2011

Please post Brown army best army :'(

New orcs are very stronk.

You know nothing john now.

Awww shit. I was on the fence about what army I wanted to do for AoS but seeing this, I'm leaning more towards trees now.

I am on the verge of starting with Rats, but I am torn between Pestilens Rats and Clan Skryer. On the one hand all the Pestilens models are fine and in mass and with enough debuffs on the enemies Plague Monks are probably able to tear everything to shreds. On the other claw Engine Covens are just sweet, despire their retarded names. Then again it must be brutal going against a purely shooting (Jezzails/Canons/Stormfiends/Ratlings) list with a couple of Doomwheels in the mix. Would I be that guy if I tried to be super shooty?

>Would I be that guy if I tried to be super shooty?

No it still has huge weakness, like flying units, hordes that respawn like the new orcs, summons, etc.

if you want to go for the theme then go Skyre but the Pestilans got their own book, powerful formations, and 2 really awesome cheap starters... also all models are plastic!

Seconded for brown army best army

Yes. Shooting in a fantasy game is gay If over used. Play 40K if you want to go dakka.

>Nature shall treefuck all of you though

true

I'm also on the fence... i think that as soon as they give them their own battletome with 3/4 more units i'm jumping on it.

Thinking about starting an elf army. However, I fucking hate monopose figures. So Delfs are out. How do Welfs and Helfs do these days? ANyone have starter recommendations for either?

Elf OP here. What about undead? Any starter lists? Asking for a friend

>tfw when 2 tournaments are held in your area
>tfw when both of them ask only to use models froma single alliance and you have nurgle/destruction
pretty sad. I mght jump in for curiosity and give /tg a report anyway.
Building a stormcast force anyway, because when decently paited I think they have potential and the sculpts are pretty sweet. Getting starter set, a celestant prime and 2 drachots guard. Maybe a knight heraldor aka trumpet-in-the-eye-man.
After I paint that i was thinking about 2 more boxes of liberators(they are not that great but I love the shieldwall concept a lot of massed liberators give). Toughts? I really love the celestant prime but he doesn't seem as strong as other armies bigger kits. he can deal some damage but he needs to stay out of the game for a lot of turns...
Saw you on FB man, you are one crazy nigga. i can understand that many brutes but...4 maw crusha? You better have a lot of greenstuff to change at least the pose or they will look boring as hell.

The start collecting sets are a great deal and a great starting point. from there, you'll need usually a lot more skellies or zombies. Like, at last 2-3 boxes.

You will follow the true path of enlightenment, yes-yes...Much-much power comes to those who tread the Pestilent path

The 13th one's true voice is the Withered Word, all other beliefs and thoughts are pox-bitten falsehood.

Ît is decided then, I shall wander-trott along the path of decay! They seem interesting rules wise, pretty reliant on getting their support abilities off to get things done. With the starters getting a nice force doesn't seem that expensive as well.

Now only to decide on a colour scheme. Classic vomit green or new age yellow/black?

Well, it was intuitable.

What is this?

I like how the stormcasts' expressionless masks still look disgusted by the filth of Pestilens.

Is this the Warhammer Fest timetable? Are you telling me there's a painting thing with Saint Duncan himself?

So, what's the weather like in Hamilton, Ontario this time a year?

How do you guys deal with summoning in your games? Now that AoS is getting a points system I'm going to give it a shot but the ability to summon any type of unit seems crazy. Is it a big deal in games or does seem worse than it is?

my nigga just limit it to one summoning per wiz-bro per turn. Its a simple as that. Summon spam is so real but all you gotta do is just say "Fuck you m8, only once a turn and you can't summon anything using a wizard that was just summoned"

Summoning spam has a real problem with double knight venators sniping wizards.

It's getting a point system

If your enemy has a wizard you need something to unbind 1 for 1. Other spells are usually the stronger cast compared to summoning something. Play some games with it, it's fine.

I'd much rather deal with summoning spam that is at least counter able than deal with the broken shit you can pull off in 40k now. Riptide wraith knight super friends spam. Eldar basically dominating the game. Say whatever you want about AoS but at least all armies are VIABLE.

Can you elaborate? I used to play 40k many editions ago ( probably before all this crazy shit). What makes the Space elves so shite? shitty?

>All those Greenskinz

Do we have the Ironjawz or Destruction books scanned yet? From what was spoiled I can tell its going to be good. I especially love the story about that statue of Archaon that the Orruks keep destroying.

I want to create a band of Orruks that their boss basically believes that (since there are statues of Sigmar and Archaon everywhere) whoever has the biggest statue, wins. He travels the realms toppling statues and looking for a big enough stone to carve into his own likeness that is bigger than any other.

>pls birdmen

Is the game like fantasy was where your starter sets are only to get some small stuff for 5 bucks off, or can you play right off with it?

Mount Waaagh!more

You can play right off the bat with the start collecting shit and they actually have special rules for the box

You can play right off. Honestly I think it's the reason they had to do AoS - the barrier to entry is lower than before and they need new blood. You just buy some models you want, download the app and play...

DOES FUCKING PELEANIAL WHITESTRAKE WORK FOR FUCKING GW OR WHAT WHERE ARE MY FUCKING ELVES GW REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>PELEANIAL WHITESTRAKE
dank reference

Sweet, is the virulant horde any good, or skeletons? I love that giant rat monsters and the idea of skeleton god kings

Thank you user

I hope you do furnish us with a few reports. Nothing fancy, but a few pictures and a brief description of your army and a shot from a game or two would be nice.

How are the treemen in this game? I've actually been really tempted to get a force of them but I've not played AoS and am torn between picking a faction (treemen or Orruks), or grabbing the starter set.

>Classic vomit green or new age yellow/black?

I personally feel the modern yellow robes are great, despite being an old Pestilens player i might paint a unit in their colours.

As you're starting fresh it would be a good scheme, plus it is more interesting to paint. look into the purple robes too

I don't play either army, but from what I gather Verminlords are very good, and so are skeletons. Each army has keywords on their Warscrolls which affect how they synergise - e.g. the general may only be able to buff a certain keyword.

RAW you can mix any models you want, but some tournaments frown upon it. Generally because synergy is so heavily based on keywords, mixed armies are not particularly strong anyway so most people will be ok, especially if you fluff it nicely.

What do you guys think of Malignants? I recently picked up the start collecting box and I'm thinking of doing an entire army of ghosts (everything in the start collecting box alongside cairn wraiths and banshees). The rest of the undead line doesn't hold a lot of appeal for me.

I haven't played AoS other than a couple demo games and I'm wondering if an all Malignant army would be viable. If it can work I'll probably pick up another two of the start collecting boxes.

cont.
Honestly if you're just starting out - buy models you love and paint those. You'll very quickly grow bored if you don't have models and an army you don't love. What really turned me off WHFB back in the day was painting hundreds of infantry, but nowadays you don't need to worry about that too much. I personally have an all chariot army because I love the Gorebeast Chariot model enough to paint it three times.

OH I see Maw-krusha's fly like the dragons in flight of dragons, by basically being hot air balloons.

I mean in AoS RAW anything is viable because you should talk with your opponent about what would make for a balanced and fun battle while deploying. That said, we don't know the situation come points. For now, I'd just say go for it if it makes you happy.

Skeleton starter bit is great, skeletons and grave guard themselves are good.

Virulent horde is perfect if starting a Pestilens force it comes with one of each Pestilens unit, but you need to consider whether you want to play Pestilens who specify in no armour save frenzied units supported by priests and Verminlords or Skaven as a whole, or a different clan

So I was considering finally getting into Warhammer right when the the whole AoS thing happened.
No, literally like AoS had been announced or launched the same week I decided to look into it.
So naturally I decided to adopt a wait and see mindset.

With the soon to be inclusion of point costs, it seems to me that AoS is finally starting to resemble what I would consider a game, but since I never played WHFB I am curious how play actually works.

Could someone enlighten me?

I was in the same position as you a few months ago. Basically, a lot of the rules for models are now on their war scrolls. List building is now a lot looser and more about synergy than anything else. In terms of gameplay, the movement phase isn't as make or break as it is in WHFB, and there are some weird rules like being able to shoot at another unit while still in combat. The combat phase is actually quite strategic - you pick a unit to fight, then your enemy does. That means that the Order in which you do combats matters as if you attack after your enemy has there will be casualties and your unit will be weaker. Magic phase is a lot simpler. Every Mage gets two spells and a unique one on their war scroll.

The new orruks were a massive success

Even the haters agree the models are fantastic

AoS is gaining momentum with every release

is the main differences between AoS and WHFB - as for general play I would recommend reading the rules to get an overview. They are only 4 pages so it's not much to look at. Everyone takes turns, and does things in phases - hero, moving shooting charging combat off the top of my head. Generally you'll have an objective like killing a specific model or capturing a location. You measure distances in inches and roll regular 6 sided die to do things like determine whether a spell succeeded, or if you hit and wounded another model.

Having a a former fantasy wood elf army. I would have to say that the wild wood rangers/ Eternal guard kit is probably one of my favorites to build and paint. The wild riders where also pretty good.

I hear afterwards he is going to anoint the crowd with Agrax Earthshade one by one.

>How are the treemen in this game? I've actually been really tempted to get a force of them but I've not played AoS and am torn between picking a faction (treemen or Orruks), or grabbing the starter set.

Diccifult. You need the Wyldwoods to do really well, since a lot of your abilities depend on them. That being said, a unit of 16 Dryads in a Wyldoowd with Mystic shield cast on them is REALLY hard to move out of it because of their special rules. In a Wyldwood, a unit of at least 12 Dryads (box comes with 16), would have 2 attacks per model, with 2 inch range, that hit a specified unit on 3+, wounding on 4+, a 4+ save (3+ if you case mystic shield on them), and enemies have to subtract 1 from their hit rolls.
Treelords hit like a truck and can teleport from wood to wood in the movement phase, they are pretty tanky in close combat, but they rely entirely on their armour save against ranged damage, which is unfortunate since they are huge and not exactly easy to hide.
Treelord Ancients can do decent damage with their spell if the enemy goes into a Wyldwood, since their spell does D3 mortal wounds to enemies within 3 inches of it, and if the Ancient is within 1 inch of it, there is a chance it will do another D3 Mortal Wounds to the enemy unit, since any magic rouses the Wyldwood, and the enemy has to roll a dice for every model in a unit that charges or runs through a wyldwood, and every 1 means the model dies (except for heroes and monsters). Sylvaneth are immune to all of these effects.

Problem is literally nobody is going to want to try and charge you when you are in a wyldwood because why would they ever think that is a good idea.

You saved my photo and cropped out the name? Why?

They look cool with any color but bright yellow.

in my local store people have started complaining about cannons being too good. im more interested in playing in the spirit of the game and i think that most models will shine or suffer differently in the various scenarios. what do you guys think?

>cannons being too good
Their crew is really vulnerable, 4+ save 3 model, you can clear them with a single lucky arcane bolt.

to be fair arcane bolt is 18 inch range and cannons are 32

True...but cheap light cav can do the same thing. Or even heavy cav might be able to pull it off seeing as how they can take the hit from a cannon and keep on trucking down to the crew.

just get some flying support.. or use scenery (i know better said than done)

>And all I had to do was take a second mortgage on my house.
>Best idea

Keep telling yourself that.
I'll wait for the quarterly report.

Can you guys help me out with a few tips?
I'm thinking of starting a Slannesh themed/based army both for the game and for narrative/story making. And I'm basically wondering where to start on starter models and where to invest my money on other models. First time using a Chaos Slaanesh army so it'll all be new to me.

Also, can I get any suggestions for conversions? I wanna try to get into that as well and I'd like to try and make a distinctive Slaanesh themed army. I've been thinkng of getting the Slaanesh Lord on demonic mount and replacing the head with something more threatning and serpentine, maybe a Tyranid head of some kind.

Not them but seriously... if you don't have that amount of readily disposable cash, you failed at adulthood.

I've already impulse bought TV's 2 times the prices of those combined armies...
You must be american.

Lawyer-user here, my extremis army was paid for in about 6 hours worth of work. I work 12 hour days at $200 an hour.
It's not that big of a deal.
This hobby isn't as expensive as people say if you have a decent career.
But if you're making $15 an hour I can see how it looks like a fortune.

Ameripoor spotted; Isn't that the nation where 63% of adults are 1 Oculus rift (a mere $600) away from financial ruin ?

I can understand this looks like a lot in a third world country like yours, but you know most of the civilized world can easily afford those type of spending without going to jail.

The given explanation is that they scare gravity into allowing them to fly

Which is going well with the lore of Orruks being reality warpers.

>I have to justify my purchases somehow.
