Whats the deal with you guys being into basebuilding? I never got this, I liked the approach DoW 2 took and would love it even more if we got some Wargame/Total War kind of deal, it would fit the series perfectly.

Instead it now seems we get some basebuilding DoW 1 rehash with some moba color-palette and gods knows what kind of gameplay mechanics thrown in.

Them giving the ability to make multiple unit production buildings at once tells me they arent gonna have a tiny unit cap again.
When playing RTS games I prefer to play Command and Conquer to "Company of Heroes, Barely Any Dudes Edition"

I can't praise it til they adjust the game to better match current year.

I was kind of hoping for a Ground Control 1/Wargame style pick your dudes, kit them out, and then let the best tactician win. Now I'm no longer interests in DoW3, but I was stupid for being interested in a potential feature in the first place.

Wargame is shit though.

Man, I loved DoW Ultimate Apoc, haven't gotten to play in a while though since my install is fucked and I haven't had time to fix it. We have a few diehard IG players and one Sisters fan, I'm the Eldar fag in our bunch. We have a blast setting up bases and organizing pushes, usually I barricade my HQ up with turrets and telwporr builders into the IG and Sisters bases and set up webways, then I funnel all my infantry through those, and store my army in them, safe from artillery in the invis webways. Then I set up invis webways at each capture point and if they try to contest them I oulled whatever units best countered them out of the invis webway, mostly Fire Dragons and Dark Reapers until my economy could support Wraithguard..

AFAIK they will be added later CoH2 style.

I personally would like a less colorful palette it seems way to shiny an atmosphere in the screenshots.

And it's not really the base building it's the fact that, once you build a base you can expand and upgrade. Build different buildings for different strategies.

Yeah commanding a couple of dudes is not 40k. Dow was so great because it had a sense of scale.

As soon as you try to add to much it just looks to stupid; kind of like the robots and how much people like them thing. The more human they look without looking perfectly human just increases the creepy factor and distaste for it. There is a limit to what people want and they currently have the gamma way to high in those screen shots everything is way to bright for a war zone where dust clouds and smoke would be the prevailing weather as titans obliterated the cities and mass tank divisions trample the ground into dust

The entire trailer is in the warp. Look at the pillars the Imperial Knights bust through, they're made of skulls.

It's fine against people who aren't super into it.

Even if they are, it's no different from playing any strategy game against people that are super into it, though.
If you don't have the right strategy in Starcraft you're likely to get destroyed by people that play that a ton, too.

I think you vastly underestimate the vast scale of appropriation the Blood Ravens are capable of. The Celestial Lions got gifts from the Black Templars when they got depleted. The Blood Ravens will just steal theirs.
Recruits? The Ravens will steal Recruiting Worlds from the very hearts of other chapter's territories.
Gene-seed? The Blood Ravens will earn their title as they rip the organs right out from fallen warriors of all different companies, on battlefields across the galaxy. Apothecaries will shake their heads in disbelief as they go to retrieve their irreplaceable gene-seeds, only to find empty gaping holes.
When they have recovered their strength, the Blood Ravens shall return to the field renewed. They'll have the Black Rage and the Red Thirst, they'll turn into werewolves, and the ones that aren't black or albino are gonna look just like Horus.
