Now I feel like an idiot for putting the title in the name field.
Maybe posting at 2 am about Dawn Of War 3 was a bad idea.

No, tread title / name fields is a common mistake, no need to feel bad about that. But you're idiot for missing that we already have like three threads about this.

Checked the catalog yet searching "Dawn" yielded zilch.

HA HA TIME FOR CHIVALRY

>No CSM

I'm hyped as fuck, but this bothers me.

Going to use the CoH2 way of adding factions AFAIK.

Alright, I can live with that. I'm curious as to how many factions they will add.

My precious Dark Eldar will probably be last if at all. ;_;

Please, sisters will be last.

...

I can see them releasing them the same way they did with DoW 1 except CSM would most likely be in the first expac.

The question is would they add Nids and Daemons.

God I feel so fucking bad for those marines.

I am very excited about this game.
Our current Veeky Forums memes are growing stale, and with each DoW game, a new crop of fresh memes has grown.
It will be a golden age of comedy based on some unintentionally silly character, sound clip, or fan-lore.

Random blud rehven has already spawned some.

GALAXY IS A FUCK
KILL 'EM ALL 40K
410,757,864,530 DEAD MARINES

Macha is confirmed for DoW 3 so she'll get some more meme time probably.

THEY'D BETTER HAVE THE FUCKING GUARD THIS TIME

Though silver in your palms weighs light
Compared to death by blast and sword,
Do not shy the hopeless fight,
For endeavour is its own reward.

And he will be there to lead us to victory!

Not initially. The starting factions are Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar.

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

>guy getting slowly sawn in half by deff dread

I dunno man those screams didn't sound too rewarding.

I can already see where this is going. It's gonna go the same as Warhammer Total War

>Announcement trailer, "only" 4 (in this case 3) factions
>Revealed that there will be same day DLC for Chaos
>Revealed that a Empire allied army (Bretonnia in Total War, IG for DOW3 probably) will be available outside of Campaign

>coolest part of the trailer is bullshit superheavy WK vs. two IKs one shotting everything and towering over the battlefield making everything else irrelevant

It's like it's really 7th edition.

If it is going to go that way, it won't be IG, it'll be CSM, I just know it.

There is no salvation without suffering.

>I won't die for the emperor with a smile on my face in my lifetime

Why even live Veeky Forums ? Seriously, why ?

Fucking grimdark 40k narrator has a quote for everything.

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Wait what is that weird mountain thing at the end? Some kind of warp thing?

>When the 'gifts' are just right

khorne my little friend, khorne

>Wait what is that weird mountain thing at the end?

A pile of corpses.

>Some kind of warp thing?

Maybe, alternatively it could just be artistic.

Glory in death is life Eternal.

>if ya smellllll what the Ravens are cookin

While the chaos dlc is pretty exploitative, people really shouldn't expect any game to have all the factions at once. Most games just don't have that many factions. A game doesn't need that many factions to work. It's an unreasonable expectation. A single rts isn't going to be able to encapsulate the entire setting.

The trailer is clearly not meant to be taken literally.

Aren't they all but squatted?

Didn't even DoW1 have to split all the factions into separate expansions? DoW2 too I think.

Why would you expect DoW3 to have everything when it's a new game ground up on new engine AND GW added tons of new factions?

This, if it was then those Orks were disguised as a statue mountain. That would also mean that they finally have the Ork equivalent of Creed judging by their sheer amount.

Why did the Emperor mountain turn into orks?

it's just a trippy trailer

Dey 'ere so ded sneaky dat dey used a ded cunnin' disgoize.

The grot was holding an Eldar scalp right?

It's pottery
>The Astartes are constantly seeking closeness with the Emperor
>They are ready to eternally rest beneath his gaze
>But first, the enemies of mankind must be dealt with, and they are legion

Because that's where Orks come from. What did you think they used spores? No they just have inanimate objects turn into Orks, because if it isn't shooty or choppy it shall be turned into more Orks.

This game is gonna have base building in it. It's actually going to be a good DoW!

>when the new game is announced just right

Yes, a Howling Banshee hairpiece thing.

>Rhino crashes through a wall, sending chunks of debris everywhere
>debris turns into orks mid-air
>orks, flying orks everywhere

I lost my original DoW folder in an HD crash years ago and missed the post DoW II deluge to refill it. My 40k funny folder is mostly mixed other stuff.

have some new memes then

>Knock down a chaos statue.
>It just turns into Orks before it even hits the ground.

>attack move your squad into a crater for cover
>move screen somewhere else
>"OUR SQUAD IS UNDER ATTACK"
>crater is now orks

>Imperial Guard regiment goes to occupy a city, trying to recruit citizens.
>The citizens turn into grots.
>Every brick of the city turns into Orks as it crumbles ontop of them in one gigantic WAAAGH!

>Imperial Guard game
>It's a cover-shooter like Gears of War.

i like where this is going

>mfw they already lampshaded that

BUT AN IG COVER SHOOTER WOULD BE SO FUCKING COOL

They even have the "why do we have almost unlimited ammo" trope figured out with the lasgun!

>The cover doesn't mean anything and you just die to volume of fire
>or grenades
>or artillery
>or charging assault troops
>or teleporting elites
>or your cover turning into orks

FUCK YEAH!! KNIGHTS!!

Gorgutz and Macha are back!!

>Gorgutz
>Macha
>Angelos

Hype

>brown and bloom "so gritty so real" TPS
it really wouldn't

Ever play Alien Swarm? I'd like to see something with gameplay like that, but with cover mechanics, large-scale battles, and a focus on squad tactics.

So did the marine get team killed by the Knight accidentally?

This is how a real IG video game should be played.

youtube.com/watch?v=WGgY7R4Oka4

Commisar controlling a horde of disposable guardsmen who constantly die to achieve tasks.

>use chainsword to deflect ork bullets and sandstorm
>use chainsword to deflect deff dread
>use chainsword to deflect wraithknight explosion and knight chainsword

Ever heard of a shield, blood Ravens?

>All dem little dudes falling into the crater
>Three gamers putting their models back into the case at the end of the game

pottery

Yes.

Mah nigga

If they ever made a 40k MMO, yes.

But a "boots on the ground" guardsmen game should just be hell and death.

Assault meringues aren't known to carry those.

They've tried to make an MMO twice.

And they have failed, twice.

I really hope there are no unit caps. Fuck unit caps.

What are YOU hyped about, Veeky Forums?
>Imperial Knight voicelines

I'm loving the wraithbone.

Feels inspired by Zdzislaw Beksinski. If that's actually what they did, I'm genuinely surprised and impressed that they're drawing from some genuinely interesting material.

His face is his shield, he even says so in game

>But a "boots on the ground" guardsmen game should just be hell and death.

It honestly would play best as a squad-based cover shooter.

People like to bring up how much hell the guard experiences, but the vast majority of their combat is usually going to be quite manageable for the average guardsman, most of them never see an Eldar, much less a Chaos Space Marine.

Ideally the game would be against, say, cultists, and half the draw would be trying desperately to survive when anything bigger appears.

>Feels inspired by Zdzislaw Beksinski. If that's actually what they did, I'm genuinely surprised and impressed that they're drawing from some genuinely interesting material.

I'm loving it too.

And you know what else I love? Just how goddamn brutal and merciless the Orks feel. Like, Orks are always portrayed as these comical hooligan types, but their behavior in that trailer just really highlights how violent they are, that when you get down to it these are not the types of aliens you want to share a pint with.

And goddamn they pulled off how graceful the Eldar are.

I am aware.

At this point, all I want is a persistent online campaign. Or at least support for league play so my BATTLE BROTHERS can try to kick my heretical ass off planet.

...

That's called Star Wars Battlefront whenever a tank or AT-AT appears and your team has the maximum amount of anti-tank troopers already. Or when an enemy lightsaber wielder spawns nearby.

Seriously. The callousness with which the Marine gets cut in half, and where the one Ork just kinda mutilates a Marine corpse simply because he can.

Good shit.

And for real, if the fucking Wraith Titans get some gameplay time as more than a cutscene....

My monetary contribution will be non-voluntary.

If by some actual miracle this game has multiple cutscenes of this quality... Shit son I don't even know. For the first time in my life I'll be LOOKING FORWARD to an endless stream of expansion packs and DLC, if it starts to build up a 40k mini-series/movie alongside the gameplay.

Just god dayumn. It's rare that a trailer of all things impresses me these days.

>ASSAULT
>without jetpacks
M8...

What if advancing the plot was predicated on your death?

Like every time you died you became a different guardsmen at a different part of the battle or even a different part of the theater. It could be a roguelike shooter that shifted depending on how successful you were with each character.

>They consistently nail the feel of every faction
>mfw they get to the Tau and Imperial Guard trailers

My boner is ready.

It looks horrible, aesthetically. Smugmarine and the Banshees look really, really odd.
Also, what the hell is going on? Like, really? It's just some random melee imagery without even the context of who's supposed to be fighting who.

I'm not going to try to pre-judge the game, but the trailer didn't exactly fill me with hope.

>>/v/

They look like they have jetpacks on.

That wasn't a corpse, that marine was still alive and raising his hand for help.

i liked smugmarine

It showcases the utter banality of the 40k universe. No one knows why they're fighting, or who they're fighting, or where they're fighting.

The one truth is that at the end of the fighting, you're just one more corpse in an endless pile.

And the dream is finally over, or perhaps you're simply waking into a more nightmarish reality.

It's a battle shown as more myth than reality. Which to my mind really seemed fitting for the 40k universe. Not nailing down details so much as provoking a feeling, a sensation.

(And if you REALLY want to get out on a limb with symbolism, they're all falling into that big Gamer's Bag in the sky, when their owner puts the casualties to bed in preparation for the next game)

Modern Warfare pls. I'm still mourning Soap, Roach, and Ghost.

...

Seconded, i don't dig all of this in trailer at all.
And i am already sick of actual gameplay graphics.

They don't. Those are regular backpacks

>Fire Warrior gets helmet knocked off by bullet
>shooting at offscreen enemies
>gets leg blown off by a bolter round
>firing pulse rifle at approaching marines while lying on the ground
>Tau music starts playing
>multiple Crisis suits drop from the sky, killing marines
>another FW runs onto the screen and starts dragging the wounded FW to safety
>XV8 suits get squashed by a knight
>knight turns head towards fire warriors
>knight gets blown apart by blue plasma
>camera quickly pans to Riptide with glowing gun
>Mantas in the background dropping off dozens of Riptides
