Previously you and some of your crew enjoyed a pleasant dinner together, discussing various topics including Tabby's violent ideals and how Rei and Kei could teach her to control her temper and focus her mind. You agreed, though a little worried you could be giving someone with rage issues a way to express them.

Afterward you caught sight of a strange woman watching you, which lead to discovering she was a spy sent by Kakei to keep tabs on you and "deal" with you if your actions disagreed with the city's well-being. This quickly became a chase, where you caught the girl, but learned nothing new. You did figure out some words you'd like to have with Kakei, though.

After that you had a meaningful talk with Tabby about her motivations and aimless hate, agreeing that she had some things to work out, and that the twins would help her with that. But despite this, she still wishes to be the one to pull the lever that ends the lives of the bandits that made her a slave.

Welcome back to Beast in the Sky Quest!

You awake in the morning to, thankfully, no intrusive mechanic prodding you. It's a new day with new possibilities. Today marks the day of the public execution of the bandits you captured, which should be in a few hours from now if your clock is right. You still haven't discussed letting Tabby do it with Kakei, among other things you want to get off your chest. He should be in the palace by now.

What do you do and who do you bring?

Go see Kakei, take Rei and Kei. Ask them how best to talk about stuff with him on the way there.

Go see Kakei and. Bring Tabby

You decide to head to Kakei's and exchange "pleasantries". This spy shit won't fly. Also, you guess, you did promise Tabby she could kill bandits...but mostly it's the spy/assassin thing.

You gather up Rei and Kei and have Tabby join you as well. She aught to see this. She's either found or had Weiss make some vague semblance of light body armor using leather and a few bits of metal. You try not to roll your eyes at her attempt to look "threatening" and "tough" considering she still has the cute, freckled face of a rich girl who's never been in a fight in her life. Still, whatever makes her happy, you guess.

You make your way to the palace, asking about how best to deal with Kakei on the way.

"He is not an unreasonable man like his brother." Rei insists, "He is more than willing to listen to the complaints and grievances of others. He is a wise man with much experience in being the mediator for difficult problems."

"Isaac, please don't think too harshly of him." Kei chimes in, "He does what he must for the good of his people. He means no disrespect toward you, nor do I doubt he would ever intend to use force without any due reason or at the very least talking to you first."

Tabby just rolls her eyes.

You arrive at the palace, the guards letting you through without any fuss. Some of them eye you uncomfortably, you assume they're mostly the same ones that worked here prior, but none say anything and go about their duties. The doors to the "throne" room swing open and you are met by the sight of a dozen stewards running about the room, carrying boxes and paperwork, taking dictation or just generally being busy. Kakei himself is behind a large wooden desk, sorting through documents and signing various forms. He looks a little tired, but otherwise well.

"Ah," he says, noticing you after a moment, "Isaac. I...had a feeling you'd be here...please." he motions to a chair across from his desk, "How can I help you?"

What do you say?

Yeah how about we skip the pleasantries today. So what's this about having me spied on and the fact I'll be killed if I somehow threaten Ao? If you even took the time to talk to these two you'd know that isn't how I work. Anyways Tabby here wants to pull the rope you don't have any objections do you?

This minus the skipping pleasantries. Pleasantries are important. Otherwise you're not very pleasant.

Basically this but less rude sounding.

"I actually A LOT of grievances about meeting your little employee last night. Seriously, if I really had cause to do harm to this city, I'd have had more than enough reason to do so when your brother was sitting in your seat. Didn't do it then, won't do it now. Just not my type of gig. Well its not like I don't understand your concerns but hearing of a sword of Damascus above my neck for a hypothetical future offense... well that rankles quite abit. Well in any case, let me put it out there. I have no intention to do harm to the good city of Ao except in self defence."
