Holy crap guys, is this Mynock?

So Imperial Veterans is in the catalog as 'SWX52'
Heroes of the Resistance is in the catalog as 'SWX57'
So we're missing four numbers. I'm thinking Disney leaned on FFG to preview a bunch of their Force Awakens stuff early for May 4th, which accelerated or threw their planned production schedule out of whack.

So we're missing Rebel Vets (SWX53), Scum Aces (SWX54), Scum Vets (SWX55) and Villains of the First Order (SWX56). Thoughts?

I just ordered the Force Awakens X-Wing box. Is it worthwhile to run another T-70 if I got Rebel?

I was thinking 2 T-70 and another ship? I don't know anything about the game. so any pointers would be appreciated.

The cost of the X-Wing, especially the T-70, makes running more than one kind of prohibitive at 100pts. By the time you're done upgrading it you've sunk 2/3rds of your list into two ships, with scant few options for a third. A nimble T-70 ace like Dameron with BB-8 or a cleverly kitted out Asty with the remainder of your list made up of hard hitters is your best bet.

Your best value second purchase is Rebel Aces.

Thanks for the advice.

Reposting my question from the end of last thread:
So, /swg/, tell us about that fanfic that you've been meaning to write but have never gotten around to

I disagree. Tarn Mison with R7 and IA is cheap as chips!

I don't write but if I did it would be slash fiction. Because I can.

I don't really write, but I had a few ideas for a hidden colony of alien cuties falling in love with dirty shenanigans.

>Warm tropical weather
>Hidden bathing pools by waterfalls
>Forbidden love between different species
>A few kinks thrown in the mix

Different user here. How about a second buy for an imperial? Imperial aces?

Aside from the things that I've mentioned previously?
A star wars-ified adaptation of either Ride The High Country or Once Upon A Time In The West, though so much of the latter is in the cinematography that it probably wouldn't be so good as text anyhow.

Seriously Imp Aces is a great purchase for any faction. The modifications it comes with are game-makers.

>when you play a game and forget about an obscure upgrade you purchased which rerolls failed to-hit rolls, meaning you have a rougher than you would have if you'd remembered you had a free reroll per turn

Aside from my backlog of in-progress fics, I've got the following on a "maybe" basis:

>Millennium
Set 1000+ ABY, the Alliance is in the middle of what many consider a golden age. Most of the galaxy is at peace, the economy is on the uptick, and living standards have never been better. But underneath this gilded facade lies a rotten core. The hyperspace anomaly at the edge of the galaxy is spreading and, one by one, colonies are going dark. A little Delta Green, a little Shin Megami Tensei, a little Dark Souls.

>XW: Fortunate Sun
A follow-up to XWSOL detailing the battle for the Corellian theater during the last phase of the Sith-Imperial War. A little bit less Gundam than XWSOL, and a little bit more Pacific War.

>XW: Academy
A slight merging of nucanon and Legends. Poe, Snap, and Syal as bros at Alliance Navy Fighter Weapons School.

>V: Sins of the Father
Pic related

>Trioculus: Birth of a Legend
Definitely keeping this a one-shot deal.

Most of these will probably be scrapped or kept very short when I can't think of any real details beyond the starting premise. Not really sure which ones actually have potential to go anywhere.

>Not a single bit of pro-Imperial propaganda.

Mr XWW, Director Isard will see you now. No, we know you don't have an appointment. Just stay there and we'll pick you up.

>no pro-Imp
What, does a Trioculus story no longer count as pro-Imp?

Remembering Trioc is a treasonous action.

Go ahead and try it. I'll kick all their asses and then go back to deciding which love interest to plow this book.
Aldo, I will steal your entire kingdom

>After Palpatine's fiery death
>Another leader soon comes to command the Empire
>And on his right hand he does wear
>The glove of Darth Vader!

That doesn't rhyme at all

For a second i thought someone had shopped Sean Claude Van damme's face over rey's.

Ladies night?
No cover charge!

My apologies, I didn't see that one there. Dark Greetings to you!

But Jedi Prince is amazing.

Back into your studio, Stackpole.

that feel when you kind of wanted Corran to plow Isard in Isard's Revenge when they're on the asteroid together and she's in her exercise clothes and all

40kfag here with an itch for x-wing. Is there any kind of "My Dudes"-way of doing things or is it only for doing things with established characters?

Need help finishing out an X wing list.
I have 31 points to play around with
I have
Poe with VI, R2D2 (don't have rebel transport), autothrusters

Jan Ors with Twin Laser Turret

I'm struggling hard with the 3rd ship. I've tried A wings with both Tycho and Jake, but even with 6 dice proton rockets, it's not been great and Jan's ability can't seem to make up for the atk 2.

I'm contemplating Luke with bb8, integrated astromech or Keyan Farlander with Fire control systems for now, but I could use any insight

You can totally run viable lists made up of generic aces, but even the best generic ace is subpar when compared to a named ace. There are enough obscure characters that you can run them in lists without feeling like you're playing the lore, if that's your thing.

Man, maybe a naked or nearly so YT-1300 to absorb fire?

>A-wings with both Tycho and Jake, but even with 6 dice proton rockets
I don't understand why people screw this up so often. Proton Rockets cap at 5 dice. It's right there on the card.

Jan Ors in the HWK let you roll additional die for attk. Proton rocket states that you add up to 3 for agility only.

What about a K-wing?

Yeah, but a naked yt-1300 is absolute shit statwise. If poe dies for whatever reason, I get stuck with an unplayable list.

with what though? tlt boat is a waste of Jan's abilities, Running the named ones means that you have no points to outfit it and they still suffer the low attk problem that A wings suffer from.

For thirty points you can field Nera Dantels (26) with Flechette Torpedoes (2), Deadeye (1), and Munitions Failsafe (1).

The trick with this build is that you WANT your torpedoes to miss, so use Deadeye to fire them and hope you don't get lucky. She's a reliable stresser like this, but would be better with Extra Munitions.

Isn't that counter intuitive with Jan Ors boosting attk power though?

god that cgi ages fast

It wasn't even that good to start with.
I remember being awed when watching the phantom menace visually, but dear fucking lord, the clone wars was just fucking uncomfortable to watch.

The clone wars was all cgi. If you didnt expect that going in, frankly it was your fault

Lucas actually used models and sets for Phantom Menace but he went 100% CGI for the next two.

Nope. Jan Ors is optional, you can use her on Poe, or even on Dantels when she's using her regular attack.

The space scenes still hang together pretty well, rest of the ground stuff is a bit cringe though.

Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith both had pretty extensive miniatures and sets built. Just not for every scene, and the composition was so weird that it could make sets look like cgi. The Clone Wars tv show, however, was all cgi.

>The Clone Wars tv show, however, was all cgi.
Well, duh, it's a 3d cartoon. Why would I even be talking about a cartoon?

>the clone wars was just fucking uncomfortable to watch.
:^)

Okay, after this post, assuming it was you, I'm going to guess you're pretty new to X-Wing. As such, I've fixed your list for you. If you don't have the Dorsal Turret (I understand, the Ghost is a big commitment) drop Weapons Guidance from Poe, put Blaster Turret on Katarn and make a 99 point initiative bid.

I just realized that the movie's name was attack of the clones. I feel silly now.

Wow, how little fuck I gave after that one.

You shouldn't feel silly, friend.

Whoever told George it was a good idea to name it 'Attack of the Clones' should feel silly.

Don't forget that there is also both a "The Clone Wars" and "Clone Wars".

Im slightly annoyed that you put extra munitions on Nera instead of another Flechette torpedo. Not sure why.

does it matter?

I suppose you get a card and a token, instead of just a card. I like to keep the tokens to a minimum, I guess.

>Merr-Sonn blaster
>No holster
>Sexy top by standard pants

2/10 Would not adventure with

>but he went 100% CGI for the next two.
No they didn't. They still used plenty of matte paintings and models and full sized sets. You know, Practical Effects™. Pic related is Sloth from Goonies working on the set for Felucia.

starwars.com/revenge-of-the-sith-behind-the-scenes

Still used plenty of green and blue screens but those were to superimpose the actors over the paintings and models.

I'm trying to make a heist for my players. I'm taking straight up Oceans Eleven: Star Wars Edition.

Currently trying to figure out enough different ways for each player to go for it to be fun so everyone has something to do and they feel like THEY really planned it. But also make it to where the whole thing doesn't turn into a combat encounter with one fucked up dice roll.

Though that is definitely harder to solve than it seems. It's obviously easier if one of 'em is just trying to talk their way in, or is in a restricted area- then they could just be escorted out. But someone climbing through vents or hacking a door would probably be detained if not shot.

The best I've figured out, which still seems like a poor solution to me, is, in one of those cases, they're put in an interrogation room, so that they at least have something to do, and could possibly escape if they're really skilled- and could at the very least be saved.

My GM got all the player characters together and asked them each to make up a thing they notice about the place they're robbing. Like extra security, types of locks, etc.

So, is there anyone that want to do some speculations about what these cards do?

Lets recap what we already know:
-Pilot Rei
-New MF Title
-New Pilot Poe
-Black One
-IA

Of the other cards and pilots we have some text showing, so lets try to fill that missing text up.

Bur(st of)
S(peed)

Large (Ship only)

Your actio(n bar gains the)

Did you look at the Jewel of Yavin book?

>Phasma

Still pissed about this bitch, they made a huge deal of her in the run-up and then she did a grand total of jack shit. I don't even care about it her, but it's bullshit manipulation.

Snaps Wexley reads

After (you perform a)
4 spe(ed maneuver, if you are)
touching (???)

Does anyone else feel like there should be a dedicated x-wing and armada thread outside of the general? I feel like the number of posts they get per thread is substantial enough to warrant it and that discussion of other topics gets lost or overlooked.

I rarely see Armada discussions go on for more than a few replies unless it's some "wave 3 is shit" poster trying to stir people up. X-Wing gets a lot though I agree.

I don't think so. There isn't enough talk where every other topic of discussion gets drowned out. I'm refering to X-wing btw. Armada isn't too spoken about unfortunately.

On an unrelated note, I just got my hard copy of Edge of the Empire and dice. I have Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny on the way as well

Just another day at the office, unfortunately. Still, could be worse. At least she's not Yamcha.

Most X-Wing posts involve people posting lists and maybe getting one or two replies, with the rest being completely ignored. This is an unusually X-Wing heavy thread.

I don't know what Snap S(hot) is, but I hope it's something like a 2/3pt upgrade which allows a second primary weapon attack after the first at the cost of a stress and the discarding of the card.

>she did a grand total of jack shit
That's not true. She destroyed Starkiller Base.

The wording looks a lot like the new MF title:

After (you perform a)
4 spe(ed maneuver, if you aren't)
touching (do X)

Smu(ggling)
Compa(rtment)

YT-1300 a(nd YT-2400 only)
Modif(ication)

Your upgr(ade bar gains the)
*Illicit* u(pgrade)

You may (equip another)
Modificatio(n other than this that)

Ah good call.

Inte(grated)
Astr(omech)

When (you are dealt a)
Damage (card, you may)

My main complaint is that the xwing system is mostly unrelated to the rest of the topics. There should be a place to discuss tactics and stuff but it is so different from the rest of the topics that treads are disjointed. This, on top of the frequency of posts increasing thread turnaround time, is why I suggested it.

Like if we start arguing about stats on a weapon in EotE, we can use all sorts of different systems for comparison on top of bullshitting about lore. Rules for xwing are more cut and dry. Discussions don't overlap in the same way because of how the system works.

Also, have fun with the FFG books - granted they are like 65% identical, but they all fun. System takes longer to get used to if you've played other rpgs, but new players pick up the narrative system faster.

Oh wow, never realized how bad she acted that.

Counterpoint: X-Wing discussion makes up ~15% of the average /swg/ thread at best. The current trend an exception due to the announcement of a new expansion pack. X-Wing threads would Page 10 with maybe 50 posts on their own and add unnecessarily to board clutter to Veeky Forums if separated.

Hey IAfags, what's the better command card between Fleet Footed and Urgency?

I guess that makes her a traitor

For heists I do the "three strikes you're out" rule. As in, they get 3 free fuck ups.

Ie., you fail the stealth check as an employee walks to the bathroom, too distracted to pay you much mind.

You fail to hack the mainframe, but luckily you took steps to ensure the alarm won't go off... This time.

While crawling through the vents you make a loud noise. "That exterminator was supposed to clear out the fucking mynocks...." Says a manager hitting the vent with a broom.

Then the next screw up is the big one.

Anyone read the potentially leaked VIII script? Or does that need spoilers (personally I'm not sure if it's real).

They need to get their security tighter.

Fanfic about Obi-Wan trying to balance fighting injustice on Tattooine with keeping a low profile so he doesn't blow his cover. Then he runs in Sabine who's on a secret mission, and realizes she's his daughter and has to decide between his duty to protect Luke and actually having a relationship with his own kid, since I want to keep my unlikely fan theory on life support

>potentially leaked VIII script
I suppose it's too much to hope for it being the Wing Commander IV script with some names changed?

Post link

So I've been looking at the droid crafting rules, my purpose was to build a high mechanics/computer assistant for my character.

Am I reading this the right way? I can have a swarm of minion droids with repair/computer to aid me, that scale with the number of droids in the group? For only 600 (300 with some half decent luck) credits per droid?

Is this really cheap or am I mistaken?

Fanfic of a Tie Interceptor squadron and how they and the ImpStar II they are stationed on copes with the post-endor Empire clusterfuck.

Think Biggles/WWI Flying Circus mixed Rogue Squadron and the dogfighting stuff from Battlestar Galactica, all from a Empire squadron's point of view instead of the usual rebel one

That sounds cool, I'd read that.
>mfw I'm hoping there is a cutie TIE Pilot

I only come here to post about X-Wing.
I'm thinking about changing my competitive list once this comes out. Currently it's this:
>Poe Dameron (31)
>>Veteran Instincts (1)
>>R2-D2 (4)
>>Integrated Astromech (0)
>Corran Horn (35)
>>Push the Limit (3)
>>BB-8 (2)
>>Fire Control System (2)
>Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Would replacing the Blue with a Green Squadron Pilot be a good way to accommodate New Poe? I'm not the biggest fan of A-wings, but it would fill all of the leftover points.

Yep there's a female pilot. I've only written small action snippets and a rough storyline so far but i've fleshed out the squadron a bit at least:

Members of 109th Interceptor Wing, RAID Squadron (Rapid Attack, Interception and Defense) [Color of Interceptor]
1. Kier Varsin - Human Male from Coruscant [Black with white stylized Skull over cockpit]
2. Jazen Bynar - Human Male from Correllia [Blue with Corellian Bloodstripe over cockpit]
3. Baxter “Baron” VanMeer – Human Male from Kuat [Bright Green]
4. Markus Harna – Human Male from Chandrila [Silver cockpit with Light Blue panels]
5. Trebor Onasi – Human Male from Onderon [Dark Grey with Red and White shark teeth on panels]
6. Durgen Plo – Human Male from Carida [Quartered Yellow and Blue]
7. Jek Starwind – Human Male from Tatooine [Black and Orange Nexu Stripes]
8. Isabelle “Izzy” Janthine – Human Female from Carida [Starburst Red-Orange-Yellow]
9. Candorous Verd – Human Male from Concord Dawn [Sandy-Gold panels with Black cockpit]
10. Erran Forto – Human Male from Yaga Minor [Purple with White horizontal lines]
11. Urik Jakel – Human Male from Balmorra [Dark Green cockpit with Black and White Dazzle Camo Panels]
12. Saul Lareek - Human Male from Corulag [Dark Blue with Star camo]

If you want PS9 Poe you should give him some EPT like Predator or PTL, i would drop the B to a Chardaan refitted Proto pilot, then with those 7 points you should can give EU and possibly swap PTL to VI on Corran as he really shines with PS10, that leaves you with 5 points, enough to upgrade Poe to Nu Poe, swap VI for Predator/PTL and leaves 1 point that you can use for the new title or a 1 pt bid

>Human Male from Chandrila
>[Silver cockpit with Light Blue panels]

Sounds like a bitch.

The Smuggling Compartment could also be YT-1300 and Scum only.

One could only hope... It'd suddenly make Scyks a hair more interesting.

Silver with light blue actually looks pretty cool.

As mentioned, Jewel of Yavin will help you out. But also check Fly Casual, there's some general heist/trap suggestions there too.

Yes, but keep in mind that realistically, you're still limited to whatever really makes sense on a specific task. So building/tinkering with a gun, you could probably really only have like 2-3 people around it working on it - fixing/modding a ship, you could probably have 6+. So in general, it's better to have the fewer, but more skilled, hands helping you as opposed to churning out a ton of minions.

Imperial Assault got a closer look at the upcoming Lando pack today. Another good mid-cost unique for Rebels. The more of these we get, the more obvious it is that Han and Chewie are overcosted and unplayable.

I would post more if it was a dedicated thread for x wing.

Generals are dumb anyway

There's nothing stopping you from leaving the general and starting your own.

Except the law.

So, I've got this list with an undefeated record so far in casual play, wanted to get an opinion or two on what could be tweaked.

xwing-builder.co.uk/view/485096/989-hook#

> Generals are dumb
> I'll make my own General

That is interesting. Especially if it works like Sabine Binder and gives ships which already have an Illicit slot a second Illicit slot.

I'll be running a more intrigue based campaign around the imperial palace, and I was wondering, does the empire have anything like political parties, atleast before the Senate was dissolved in ep iv? And if not political parties, factions? Like, the ultra nationalist/military wing, the sycophant palpatine stooges, the imperial traditionalists who are just doing their jobs, and so on?
