I need mind flayer art, art of brains in jars, art of robots with brains in them, anything. We're doing steampunk Dnd and I need help with a faction of mechanist mind flayers.

Picture slightly unrelated.

Know this might not be 100% related, but here.

I wish I had something really useful to contribute, but all I bring are questions.

What do mindflayers do when something like vampires goes up against them? Or anything generally incredibly more powerful or that has a chance of resisting their influence?

...

...

They don't have plane shift for nothing.

You made me aching to fuck a mindflayer. Fuck you.

Send out the thralls.

Also, where did you get the pic?

...

It will gladly fuck you.

Drawthread from a while back. I think someone asked for a mindflayer with a cuttlefish head, or something along those lines.

Not THAT kind of mind flayer.

hey, if we're doing Lovecraft stuff, the Mi-Go are the better villains here. They have brain jars and shit!

Although they look kinda silly compared to the Yithians.

ran out of legit mind flayers awhile ago so down to anything that is sporting tentacles and may be steam punk.

>Take a race deliberately created to not be bilaterally symmetrical.
>Make it bilaterally symmetrical.

in that case, here's a mindflayer who is trying to eat another mindflayer.

>I specialized in muscle psionics

>The Mindflayers the group will have to fight are all hunky muscle masses
>They didn't knew and didn't prepare
>Mindflayers use their brains as protein shakes

>The sounds of heavy weights slamming onto the ground echo in the distance. The air smells of the faint tinge of sweat.

>Slowly, emerging from the steaming shower room comes a mindflayer.

>His burly muscles ripple as he finishes the last of his protein shake, letting the empty container roll onto the ground.

>"I'll eat your brains, and eat your gains"

You are awesome.

OP, I have a preserved squid in a jar and can take pictures of it for you if you think you could use that kind of image.

I try

>What do mindflayers do when something like vampires goes up against them?
Fight them. Both are roughly in the same ball park of power.
There are such things as Vampire-Illithids And an Lich-Illithid is called an Alhoon

>Or anything generally incredibly more powerful or that has a chance of resisting their influence?

Well there are mind flayers with class levels, so more umph simply with knowledge and experience. Psionic flayers in 2ed and 3e basically leveled their mind-blast as they leveled their psionics, so less chance to resist. A few psi things even stunned undead.

Also Ulitharid, Thun-MindFlayers, elder brains ofcourse, and special power granted by illithid gods.

Basically tons of options. I'm sure there is loads more.

Contribootin

Avoid them, hide, lure them into the caverns where there are thousands of mindflayers to chain blast their heads into pulp.

Highly intelligent monsters shouldn't be in the business of taking fights they can't win. My biggest RPG pet peeve is when shit like mind-flayers, Eldar, etc. get into fights to the death with grubby dirt monkeys that aren't worth the meat they're made of.

What is that, a cuddlefish?

>mfw got banned for posting a MORE cropped version of that pic

don't fight it, user

Do intellect devourers count?

Of course. Anything brain-related and steampunk-related, I guess.

...

How about a bloodsucker instead?

[Soft bell ringing]
Please leave the tower sir.

Whats the thing on the left of the Brain Golem?

But what about Zoidberg?

No wonder they always dress so modestly. That non-ass is a goddamn tragedy. Do some squats bro.

Looks like an urophion, the monsters that happen when a mind flayer tadpole is implanted in a roper.

Now that I'm actually looking at it, the vampire flayer's oversized lil speedo is makin me laugh.

I have brains but have some squids.

Both or any would be fantastic.

Yeah, the Yithian's aren't even bad guys. A little callous, but they try to be pretty nice generally speaking.
