Any of the primary colour yellow ones for worst.

Not a chapter per se, but the Dusk Raiders have one of my favorite Space Marine colour schemes.

>Any of the primary colour yellow ones for worst

>implying

Old salamanders color scheme was awful.

Look at it in all it's glory

Any of the chapters worshipping Slaanesh with that fleshy pink color are dreadful to look at, and I love them.

Call the inquisitor, idgaf

It was a simpler time.

it's quite unappealing

But at least it's not bright red

I've always preferred this colour scheme for the concept and idea alone desu senpai

Anything green. Green is not an imposing color and really doesn't fit spacemarines

I agree. I wish they hadn't switched to the bland green.

Even if they'd kept that weird pattern on the pauldron insets it would have been better.

GW had to sell green paint. IIRC Salamanders and Dark Angels changed color scheme to bland green because of that.

What, orks and striking scorpions weren't green enough?

I'm not down on yellow in itself, but the Lamenters are the most unappealing shade of yellow you could possibly come up with.

The Harbingers

Oh god my eyes!

Also, any bisected or quartered color scheme like the Novamarines in

This color scheme would fuck up slaanesh marines.

space marines are what makes the world go round, man

>ctrl f
>no Storm Lords
Worst colour scheme coming through.

Imperial Fists (and all the yellow ones) always looked like shit to me.

I like Emperor's Children colours, but is only because I like pink.

I thought the same about the Imperial Fists. "Yellow?! Ugh, it just..doesn't work. It looks horrible."

Then I read about them. Then I knew their sacrifice, their unending endurance, unwavering devotion to the God-Emperor of Mankind, their hardened discipline. Then I knew the Imperial Fists and I respect the yellow.

What's with all the hate for yellow? I like it.

man black Aquila's look terrible. And the yellow contrasting with the green eyes and everything else for that matter isn't doing it any favors.

Anything that doesn't fit the standard organization of colors looks like shit

HA HA HIS SHINS ARE A DIFFERENT COLOR ISNT THAT NEAT

I thought the blue/silver combo of the Storm Wardens was actually pretty neat.

>hating on Storm Wardens
Shit taste tbdesu fampai.

I generally hate all the SM colors that have random armor parts a different color like mentors and such, but the storm wardens are cool.

Red is the shittiest. BA have shit scheme.

The Monochromodons.

Well, in that picture is the best scheme in my opinion.

Fucking Astral Claws man, just gorgeous. The blend of metallics with the regal blue shoulder pads look great, and the 'Tyrant's Fist' icon is excellent.

My least favourite would probably be Space Wolves, because I really dislike that 'frost blue', though they can still be painted damn well. I also don't like Praetors of Orpheus, because that baby white and blue makes them look like a 5 year old's toy. Lastly, the Scythes of the Emperor I find look too garish overall.

Again, they can all be painted well, but those three I just dislike.

Or that lot? Red Scorpions, no contest.

Bluhd Rehvens are genuinely good.

I just don't understand why they use the colors like this. White should be take up most of the armor, especially given their name. The mix of white and black makes me think "panda" not "panther."

By the throne, this thread is in desperate need of style!

...

I couldn't find a chapter that was loyal and absolutely hideous so I made my own.

>The Aquan Smashers are a space marine chapter founded in the 38th millennium descended from the Ultramarines. They are based on a civilized ocean world were they rarely interact with the locals.
>They have a pure geneseed and have an extreme distaste for heresy. They adhere to the codex astartes and specialize in lightning strikes. They have good relations with the administratum.
>They are at normal strength and their primary enemies are orks.

My stoner friend would play these guys, especially given the fact that he's trying to make these guys.

Good luck painting yellow onto black.

>Averland Sunset
>highlight the yellow areas with Yriel Yellow
>profit

alternatively:
>prime white
>Averland Sunset allover the place
>apply black lines to achive Salamander Pattern
>wash Agrax or nuln oil
>highlight yellow areas
>edgehighlight
>profit

And if you let some of the Averland Sunset visible it would make for a nice color effect that some salamanders have going more into an orange or reddish color.

>Imperial Fists
>their sacrifice, their unending endurance, unwavering devotion to the God-Emperor of Mankind, their hardened discipline

>Not Lamenters
It's like you hate fatalistic acceptance of terrible luck

I was going for the whole split colored ones but then I realize the raptors look like your average rusted power armor of all things

Raptors don't really have a colour scheme. They paint camouflage on their armour depending on what kind of enviroment theyre deploying into.

Those are some sexy unforgiven. Nominating my favorite unforgiven chapter

Are you saying that they have a good or bad color scheme? Because their grey with gold trim is just pure sex

It's the color of sick and piss, and it's aggressively unpleasant to look at. No other color insists on being as much of an attention whore and a repulsive eyesore. Also, it's impossible to paint evenly evidently, because I've never seen a yellow army that didn't look slopped on and not everyone who wants to play IF or Lamenters or whatever can be completely retarded.

I like this. I really do. However, how does the codex company color scheme work with this design?

I'm assuming this a 3rd company marine, given that the eagle is red (red is the 3rd company color.) The other colors look horrible on the eagle. Blue is redundant. And how is the eagle painted white for the first company anyway?

I could assume the companies decide where it is aesthetically best to place the company color, but then that risks the chapter looking uncoordinated.

Help me GW, what have you done? This has bothered me for a long time.

...

Also, it's more those shades of yellow than the color itself. It's those same colors that you get whenever you accidentally drip some black paint into your yellow paint, it just looks fucking disgusting. It'd be OK if it was a brighter yellow, though.

Well its a good thing that doesnt look fucking dreadful

Don't understand why people who don't airbrush don't use a yellow primer.

It is a little bad for the eyes but it's not the worst.

Which from this pic is the worst boyz?
Dear Jesus why?

Night shadows. Dark purple and neon green is terrible, and screams edgy marines that like to glow in the dark.

I just want to know why so many of those chapters have Night in their name.

>night drinkers
This dosent even make sense and is just there to sound cool and edgy.

Not really that it is ugly, it looks like a lollipop, but more that I will probably never ever see a model of that chapter with my own eyes.

...

I think that was the point. At least their name is better than warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Nameless,_The and warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Adulators

When you discover the gradient tool in photoshop for the first time

Auric Patricians are the most patrician chapter.

I think I found a pretty bad scheme here.

Fuck off! Celebrants are cool!

...

>Omega Marines

You cheeky bastards...

Huh. Didn't see that coming.

That fade is sick.

Damn right they are

whoops wrong emperor

Someone show the guy who runs TTS the Auric Patricians.

The Emperor would live them.
And their nonexistant fluff.

Top tier:
Solid colors with classy trims: pre-Heresy Emperor's Children, Ultramarines, Blood Angels, Iron Hands, pre-Heresy DA, Deathwing
Paint is for pussies, gunmetal grey is where it's at: Grey Knights, Carcharodons

Low tier:
Two-color schemes with pauldrons of a different color: Salamanders, Relictors, Black Templars, Iron Snakes

Shit tier:
Assymetric color schemes: Howling Griffons, Novamarines, Marines Errant
Tri-color schemes: Slaaneshi Chaos warbands
Different-colored vambraces/shins/plates: Flesh Tearers, Crimson Fists, Mentors, Scythes of the Emperor, Mortifactors
Any decorations or "special effects" painted directly in armor, like lightning, clouds, swords, skulls, wolves, etc: Salamanders with fire painted in their armor, Legion of the Damned with fire and bones, White Scars with drawn lightning bolts, Iron Warriors' warning strips

Hahahaha oh wow, nice going you fucking bozo tier:
Night Lords

they need leopard-print fur collars, some bling and a powercane and dey be pimpin'

(sergeants get a big hat too)

Filename related.

>Thisisbait.jpeg

>an opinion I don't agree with must be bait!
How to spot a crossboarder.

I gotcha user.

Pic related

Please. Flesh Tearers are shit tier? They're one of the best looking chapters, even with the funny company colors.

And by extension, pre-heresy World Eaters, also proven by their popularity, part of which is the color scheme.

>not just playing every FT company as black or gold bordered
>not using the FW metallic scheme

Ultramarine spotted.

Black + Anything extra points for gold
White + anything usually as a secondary
Sally and Wolves got a place in my heart due to being my two favorite chapters
Blood Angel's because fucking Blood Angels. That red and gold is too decadent and perfect

Ultramarines colour schemes are elder-god tier.

>3rd Co

Disgusting. That blue is amazing though.

I actually agree with this. The simpler the better.

As much as I love yellow, that hot dog stand paint scheme just really isn't doing it for me. Also, Space Marines look better in slimming colors. They just look fat in yellow.

Does this make me look fat, battle-honey?

Well, yes actually. Space Marines look fat in general. The best you can do is not draw attention to it.

FT change the color of the blood drop on their chapter icon. And at only 4 companies strong, don't use black as a company color.

But intrigued, what FW metallic scheme?

Was that really the depoction of the Emperor in the old fluff?

Here you go. An entire 3rd company worth of Celebrants. You're welcome.

Yeah. Old old art. Depictions have changed a lot over time.

>tfw you create a chapter and another existing chapter has a name almost similar to it

Makes me sad man, Storm Wardens are pretty cool too

>red on blue
disgusting
