Paper Miniatures

Hey guys, I'm broke but I love to play D&D/Pathfinder. I don't have a lot of miniatures, but I've been experimenting with some paper ones. These guys came off a printout from a free download, but the same company doesn't seem to have a lot of stuff besides generic enemies. Since this painted bottlecap base seems to be working out okay, I'd like to build up a collection for use as PCs and NPCs as well as mobs and minions. Anyone know where I can find some decent-looking paper minis for cheap or free?

A closer view of one. Just printed them out, cut them out, folded a piece of index card in between the two sides, glued it, and then glued the flap at the bottom to a painted bottlecap for weight. Fits pretty well into the standard 1''-1'' square

I forgot to actually upload the image like the autist I am.

Make them yourself.

If you're willing to take the time to cut around the borders of the characters you can use pretty much any fantasy image in the internet.

Paizo makes a lot of paper minis for Pathfinder. You should be able to pirate a .pdf somewhere

There are a bunch here:

Cardstock and glue are your friend OP. I've got a ton of papercraft stuff, lemme share some of it.

Hey man not much help but I suggest checking out Brewhouse bash. Its a wee GW game with orks in a pub and its all paper/card

is that some sort of riding llama?

I like the crab man back right

Lots of free stuff to be had at Junior General, but they're mostly for historical wargaming

I forgot the mega link to these so I uploaded them to Dropbox.

This.
If you're feeling fancy you can print it onto nice sticker paper and mount on thick card for longevity.

I went a bit far with mine, trying to add depth.
Cracking wee game, though.

Cheap-guy protip: If you print warhammer scale stuff at half size, it works very well for comfortable 10mm play.
10mm minis are very cheap, and even cheaper still are spare shirt buttons, which usually are about the right diameter for use as markers, and you can get them in all colours, too.

Following on, showing 10mm orc with a warhammer orc for scale.

You can get 10 x 10mm miniatures for about £1.20 from Pendraken or others.

They're also a real joy to paint (little orc isn't finished in this pic, however)

Last one I swear. I just love 10mm so much, I think everybody on a budget should consider them.

Sorry OP, I know you were only asking for paper recommendations.

So how is LoS defined, or is there a preferred angle or view to print these in? I remember liking the snap on puzzles from laser cut wood

Damn right it is
Damn right you do, crab people a best.

I like to use OOTS stuff but my group disagrees.

They are cartoonish and easiyl recognizable.

Those look great! What game systems do you play with them?

Probably 'cus it looks like the doodles of an autistic child.

I used laser-cut acrylic board and transparent mylar prints.
It was relatively expensive (still cheaper than just a couple 3D prints), but the minis look fancy as fuck.

this thread is great thanks everyone that contributed

any pics, that sounds neat

Need anything special to print on mylar?

What other wee games are out there? I love the idea of a cigar box wargame, or even a good 10mm dungeon crawl.

When I get home.
Any print shop with laser printers should do it for you.

I use legos myself.

They're pretty much the same quality as those old-school figure keychains but I had to go the hard way because keychain makers won't let you have less than 50x each piece.

So kind of like Shrinky Dinks?

Does anyone use the Pathfinder pawns?

I guess.

bump for more

Why don't people ever try to solve the money/broke problem instead? Seems the smartest route.

Instead, so many poorfag threads.

Not always user.

Take as an example: I'm a brazilian. A friend wanted to give me two boxes of distopyan wars (I love small scale stuff), but the shipping or two basic boxes was 160 dollars. And now Brazillian money is a quaters in valor to a dollar, so buying stuff outside is a pain.

that critters file was great, you wouldn't happen to have something like that for pc's or npc's would you?

I wish, those are my only 3.

Darn, well, thank for what you posted im totally doing the buildings

I also like stuff like pic related.

Reaper bones are $2.50 each and they have some nice models
