>Autistically Keeping Best General OP Image for 4 Threads Sub-Edition

Not a huge fan of the early thread starting but its been nice not hearing about the OP image.

Jinxing it now.

Threadly reminders:

>New FAQ tomorrow
>Orks still have models that predate the Tau
>True Line of Sight is shit
>vehicles should just use Toughness instead of AV
>Grav is OP
>gretchin minidex when
>the OP image will always be shit no matter what it is
>Tau are desperate allies with their own gue'vasa auxiliaries
>New actually decently priced 40k start painting/playing kit comes out in non-gaming stores soon™
>Tau superheavy tank in next IA
>LD 10 bubbles and LD ignoring rules are too common
>Strength D weapons belong exclusively in apocalypse
>Decurions are a meme to sell more models
>The 100 NA stores celebration model is shit
>Rumored plastic Warhound Titan in early stages of production
>The Emperor sheds a tear when you touch yourself at night

>Orks and Chaos both have models older than Tau or Necrons.

I just bought 3 screamers, 3 flamers and 2 spawn for 20% off.
Did I do good?

Hi there.

If those are the models you wanted and you know you got 20% off why are you even asking?

For attention and approval?

Pretty good. But a burning chariot is the ultimate in tzeentchian kitbashing value.

>For attention and approval?
Yes?

Well I suppose I was expecting some kind of chaos daemon related anecdote from the thread.

>Units with ATSKNF caught by sweeping advances hae their Initiative reduced to 1 for the next fight subphase

There, now it's no longer better fearless.

Should be reduced to step 0, so they ALWAYS go last. You could let them attack with models that die prior to step 0, for a little bit of tradeoff.

8th edition rumours are picking up. 'Streamlining' seems to be the idea of it (though not to a Age of Skubmar extent)

Thoughts, Veeky Forums?

Actually, wait, that would do nothing.

Nevermind I'm retarded.

It's going to be 7.5e, just like 7 was 6.5e.

Probably include the flyer rules.

Iron Hands CAD - 750
Techmarine with 2 Plasma Cannon Servitors

Terminator with Heavy Flamer

10 Marines Grav Gun, Combi, Cannon and Rhino

10 Marines Melta gun, Combi, Multi and Rhino

Should I feel bad about the sheer amount of Ap2 I'm running in a 750 list? Or does the fact they're in MEQ without dropods make up for it? My other list included a Demi Company footslogging Assault Centurions with a Chaplin (Iron Father) but it would only work in a non-shooty meta.

Overwatch is fired at full BS but the unit cant shoot in their next shooting phase.

Yo or No

Oh, and the new FAQs.

My money is that we never see full versions of them, they just appear in the book this fall.

The new dice cubes GW sell don't include a scatter die so I'm expecting an AoS style system for blast&flamer weapons where they have a fixed amount of hits.

>That's the last time I let you park.

>'Streamlining'
I really wish that meant that they were moving Flyers and LoW back to Apoc.

I think I remember in Cityfight is was a roll rather than a set number. Can't remember the values though.

Fuck no, you can't assault anything now.

You could make it the other way- can NOT fire overwatch if you fired last turn- but I don't know how much that would actually help.

Fuck no, there's absolutely no downside to doing that for units that are in close range against an assault unit.

No. If the charge succeeds, you weren't shooting anyway

Good but I dont believe it, mainly because they just added the dogfight phase and they wont just remove it to make the game streamlined. I expect it to be like this user says as I got no idea how they can streamline the game.

Do the reverse. To overwatch, you have to declare you're over watching in the shooting phase, and then you can fire at full BS next turn at anything that gets close.

Overwatch should happen in the movement phase.

Maybe they're going to make '40k basic' which is just the standard rules and excludes flyers and superheavies.

>SW have a single character from the 15 years ago
>This is equivalent to every CSM character, CSM, CSM Bikes, Obliterators, Khorne Berserkers, Plague Marines, Thousand Sons, Noise Marines, etc, etc, all being upwards of ten-15 years old.

Typical loyalists.

I could get behind something like that.

>6:
D6 hits
>5:
D3 hits
>4
One hit
>3
Hits nearest unit D6 times
>2
Hits nearest unit D3 times
>1
Miss

No.

Overwatch can only be fired if the charging unit has to move 7" or more. If they're within 6", you don't have enough time before they jump on you.

Alternatively; you have to pass an Initiative test in order to fire Overwatch. Orks get a special rule which allows them pass this automatically (More Dakka, after all).

I just think its stupid that you somehow are less accurate shooting something that is CHARGING RIGHT AT YOU
But just making overwatch ful BS would make melee obsolete

Thats a good argument

that actually sounds better than my idea

Your position would be stronger if you didn't just make up facts.

Because at charge range even Orks BS would hit you if you didnt keep your head down

Overwatching units should have Attacks and Initiative 1. That fixes alot of stupid shit.

This. You'd be setting up fire corridors and stuff like that.

Might be too complicated at the army level though.

Status-quo would remain entirely the same. Top tier armies are top tier because they have good rules across the board. Low tier armies are low tier because they have bad rules across the board.

Overwatch should become specialised, it should only feature rarely and perhaps only in armies that need it. In particular it should be an order for Imperial Guard.

They could do it if they added good suppression mechanics. Like a shooting unit or sniper pins down a larger shooty unit and gives the melee guys space to close the gap.

Having armor saves be decent would help.

That would actually be quite ironic because Bolt Action, one of the few wargames to not use templates for blast weapons and instead a D6 system is moving to templates in its next edition. It's interesting that the BA devs obviously see an issue with the dice system for blast weapons whereas GW sees the opposite.

I'd be down for it becoming a thing on Tau infantry instead of all Tau stuff. Have them use their basic guns to overwatch for supporting fire instead of battle suits blowing everything away

daemonic incursion pdf?

yeah, what would help it at least a bit in my eyes if they changed from blanket rules, to piece-mealing it seperately ie ig gets orders, Orks get to dakka-storm everything etc

Does anyone have any competitive lists for IG? I've been trying to look around but all I find is either random people posting their lists or no results for IG on competitive list sites.

Yeah. But then we wouldn't have to deal with annoying shit like Flyers and Super Heavies.

>competitive list sites
Those are actually a thing?

But in the Short term every time you declare an overwatch you have to roll on a mini table with some small modifiers
1-2 pinned
3-5 Overwatch as normal
6 Overwatch at full BS
Then fear can change it, etc, etc

>Competitive IG lists
What sort of list are you looking for user?

Platoons with chimeras
Creed
Manticores
Wyverns.
Psykers for divination.
Assemble as you like.

Duh, n00b, how dafuq wuld u git da listz 4 da game.

last thread

>Platoons with chimeras
>Creed
>Competitive
kek

I found a few sites with competitive lists but it was mostly Eldar, Tau, Necron, and Space Wolf shit.

Have you ever played a game using nothing but basic infantry

When i looked all i could find was competitive Ork lists, so you did better than me

Yup. We regularly played Warhammer Fantasy like that.

>Owning troops
>Not starting in Glorious 7e with formations everywhere

Sounds gross.

Why waste space in your collection?

Do HWTs count against that
If not then my IG is 1500 pts of just dudes

What do you define as basic infantry, cause that seems super freaking broad to me

That sounds pretty great actually.
Maybe 1 hq. Then everything else is troops.

I'm sure there's someone with broken troop choices though, to fuck it up.

>100 NA stores celebration model
>shit

Looks pretty good to me mate.

Did you stop playing in 4th or some shit?

Scat bikes.

Yep. That's most of my army really.

Its a lot of fun and always feels more fair

Also Crisis suits.

Just restrict it to Infantry only and exclude any special types and you solve most of that though

>[insert Tau list with Crisis Commander]

I prob would do every infantry only list. But if you kick the Turrets out, then it won't.

Things that would probably pop into your mind when first thinking of a faction
>Space marines
>Necron Warriors
>Tau fire warriors
>guardsmen
>guardians
And the like

youtube.com/watch?v=eJiUfnIzbVM

My 1500 point list has 40 warriors and 10 immortals so yeah.

How bad are Knight Gallants?...

Because I'm about to build two of them to ally into my SM army.

I didn't think crisis suits were troops.

end times added loads of rules to fantasy

Magnetize

No, but most of my armies are foot infantry in some way. I really don't use many vehicles, transports, no GCs, barely any flyers and 1 MC each.

I think across 4 armies I've exactly 2 transports, 1 tank, 2 flyers, 1 vehicle and 2 walkers. 4 MCs, (I treat an MC as the armies' centerpiece). The rest are ballsy mandudes getting shit done.

Including or excluding designated transports?

What are some good conversion ideas for the baby carrier? I need to look at my units without chuckling every time.

Things which have a Toughness value and Infantry type.

do beasts or cavalry count? i play daemons so it's pretty infantry based besides monsters

Those are the 2 melee weapon Knights right?
If you play against a lot of other Knights then one of them isn't useless but two is a,complete waste of time

Remove the Grey Knight and add an ornamented chestplate, that's literally all you need to do. Couple of plasticard pieces and you're done.

excluding
just you, your enemy, and hundreds of foot soldiers in between

Good question, I am still looking into which superheavy I want for bigdick games at the LGS and from what I have found it is like a big circle of rock, paper, scissors.
I think I was looking at the Gallant to go toe-to-toe with the other super heavies as I think its the melee variant The Crusader looks cool too.
Unfortunately the Fire Raptor Variant is how I am leaning right now.

Does anyone actually field Leman Russ' withiut sponsons? If so do you assemble them without or does everyone magnetise?

Surely if youre paying around 150p for a tank with only 2 guns it is worth it to always pay the small extra cost for two more? Why not always take sponsons?

Kill your sense of humour. So, browse /40kg/ for a few weeks until you get fed up of memes and ''''''''''jokes''''''''''''.

Damn i was gonna suggest my Nids, but Flyrants are FMC

i wouldnt bother with LRBT or demolishers, but otherwise yes, because you can fire a lot of fucking weapons

>Do Cavalry count as Infantry

Wew Lad.

Because they become more tempting target with sponsons and vehicles are easy to kill.

I ran foot guard for a little bit. But turns took forever.

Even running mech I've got 70+ dudes on the field.

Are you trying to imply that it is a good design in any way?

This

I bought the defence force and a SC! Box to make an Aettguard force. I'm running a CCS and a TC squad with the two Russ's. Im thinking of using two different tanks and just ordering Split Fire every turn so I can use a BS4 vanquisher + las then whatever else needs killing with the buddy.

I said kill your sense of humour. You obviously have humour because you laugh at the shitty design. So kill it, therefore you won't laugh at it.

Anyone else think this game's rules are too bloated? Death from the Skies only made it worse.

A lot of people complain that AoS is too simplistic but the games are streamlined and you don't get bogged down with too much minutiae.

sorry all that time spent in the warp tends to play chaos with my reading ability. i have tried using just daemonettes, heralds and the masque. it did not go well but my opponent enjoyed wiping out chunks of my army

No. WHFB was much better the way it was. AoS is for kiddies. 40k would go the same way.

Son of a bitch. If I weren't too lazy to return this thing I would, the arm of this Terminator broke off some time during shipping or something. The Dark Vengeance was supposed to be New in condition but someone already opened it and removed pieces, opened booklets, etc. Everything is in there but... now I gotta glue this sucker instead of popping his arm on like normal.

You know anything outside of the starter boxes requires glue, right?

Hopefully whatever backwater shithole you're from gets plastic glue airdropped in at some point.

It's Dank Vengeance, isn't that snapfit?
