Do it

It's been forever since I've played Guard and Black Templars. What's changed recently?

How do you make Nobz not a D- unit? Nobz seem too pricey to do anything other than 'eavy armor and big choppas and even then they're only good at mulching anything short of power armor and medium vehicles.

black templars got VANILLA'd. they lost their relics, vows, and got put in the vanilla book

guard are the same as ever, minus some characters and more tanks

Oh....

Is there anything that resembles good news?

>Is there anything that resembles good news?
the vanilla space marine dex is tippity top tier.

Newer Player.
Not sure if I got Fulgrim right but I haven't read much loyalist fluff.
Just the basic story line and a few specific primarchs when I was looking for my first army.

for black templars? they got all the benefits of being in the vanilla book which means formations though they can't use crusade squads in them or the new psychic powers. but hey you get flyers and your own warlord table. oh also they don't hate psykers now, just distrust them and they are officially only 1k marines like other chapters

>sanguinius
>moroe

I mean hes pretty but wouldnt fabio be better?

>fabio
I just new he was a blonde pretty boy, I dont know any names of actual ones. Already had her on my computer.

Mostly spot-on. Fulgrim needs to be prettier though, and I don't get Angron. And can you fill in the rest?

Give them at-initiative weapons, like so:
bitly/OrksPDF

They get to swing at i5 on the charge unless they take PKs; part of their worthlessness is that they don't have more than 2 weapons, so problem eliminated. They also got 20 point bikes.

No, Fabio is clearly the Emperor. Haven't you seen how he can multiclass?

Anyone have experience with Eldar Corsair? What units are good? I read the 1d4chan tactics but still have some questions.

Like what weapons are the best?
What are the Voidstorm Bands for?
Is the Malevolent Band good?

I'm still pretty new to the game.

dropbox.com/s/lsx27fo3rq2x7tk/Codex - Orks 7th Edition Update [Space Odin](2016).pdf?dl=0

FFS, bitly, get your shit together.

I do see the resemblance there...

Oh trust me I know about the Ork fandex, I love that thing. But not everyone is okay playing against homebrew. I'd just run the bastards with Big choppas 'Eavy Armor and rend everything to death.

cloud dancers are amazing
reavers are good
balestrike are downright nasty with dark lances, hornets with kinetic shrouds are straight up aids in the butt
voidstorms are the unit of all felarchs right? if so, they're decent as bodyguard for your prince with a baron
malevolent bands are dogshit sadly

Probably not without research.

i know Khan is the biker

I just remember Fulgrim being a more emo Sanguinus and kinda vampy too

Ferrus is a steel gate if rogal is a yellow wall

Either Mort or Pert are the smith guy

Corax doesnt even sound familiar

Couldnt tell you about Lorgar either.

I guess I got Angron wrong, I thought one of the bad ones turned to nurgle so kind of took a shot. Remember him being discribed as smelly and someone had a hilarious screen cap of an adventure that made me laugh.
Who am I thinking of? Maybe it wasnt a primarch.

Glad to hear it; another Ork player in my own group said she would never use homebrew, but really, most of this thing was bringing back good ideas & balance that had been torn away. They have to be tired of watching you run MegaStikk Bosses, Mek Gunz, & Grots.

Why are Malevolents dogshit?
Also how to kit the Voidstorms (Felarch Group)
And is the Eldar Missile Launcher any good on Balestrike?

>Either Mort or Pert are the smith guy
Pert is, yes.

>Corax doesnt even sound familiar
smol birb

>Couldnt tell you about Lorgar either.
Some douche who fucked everything up for everyone.

You're thinking of Mortarion, literally no one cares about him though so it's an easy mistake to make.
Angron is... well, the name says it all, really.

Vulkan, Ferrus, and Fulgrim were smiths, though Vulkan was the most well-known, iirc.

Angron was the agnry one.

Lorgar was the one who loved religion and was unhappy when he was told it was bad, mmkay?

Corax is the goodguy ninjabatman.

Mort is the creepy anti-psyker poisonfreak.

Pert is the WWI send troops at them till it dies guy.

Ferrus has metal hands from wrestling a dragon atop a volcano.

Fulgrim was evil perfectionist Sanguinius.

All the others are correct.

If you are reading any fluff ever than your Lion choice was just a meme you saw at the start of the thread.

Two Face, maybe even an idiot or someone sleeping.

If you made vulkan a negative colour of what you have their it would be more accurate.

Jaghatai Khan is Genghis Khan in space, Ferrus Manus is the Terminator, and Angron is a typical metal band screamer guy.

reminder that tau players have actual problems with AV because they have a hard enough time as it is remembering how Toughness works

I'm all for it but I'll have to see how players around me feel about it. I'm hype to run the Red Sunz Motakayde and play Mad Morkz: The Army

Though I understand the need for speed, does the wording for infantry needing bikes/transports conflict with taking Stormboyz?

prince with reaper of the outer dark and void sabre, baron and felarchs all get jetbikes, and then shadow fields and venom blades on the felarchs, use them to soak wounds for your prince so he can actually make it into CC.
eml is pretty lame all around, dark lance is better for sure
malevolents are expensive, only t3 so tons of things ID them and cant take transports

I just find it weird that you gave nobs a 5 point discount on their weapons but also bumped their base cost 5 points too

Does anyone have the short story of some dude who went tratior with Mortarion and kept a log of how smelly he was?

>smol birb
wut

Also thanks for understanding who I meant by the smelly guy
>were smiths
Went and checked and Perturabo was a super smith:

"sometimes called the Lord of Iron (known also as The Breaker and The Hammer of Olympia) is the Primarch of the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion"

>Lion choice
Is this picture better?

Yeah thats how I remember Khan

Cool, Thanks for the tips. Makes sense.

>Perturabo was a super smith

...No

Pert just hit people with a hammer.

he did craft some pretty good stuff and was known for building good forts but he's overshadowed by the others. i believe his armor is way better

hell if someone had hugged him and told him he was doing a good job he probably wouldn't have turned

Corax's whole deal is being Caw Caw the Sneaki Cheeki Breeki. It's pretty obvious he has some type of bird fetish. "Corvus Corax" is in fact the scientific name for the common crow and literally translates to Raven Raven. Also his last known words were "Nevermore..."

And Pert is more of an engineer/architect than a smith. I'm retarded, forgive me.

I was talking about names for people but Storm is overused. As for the brother thing Marines are brothers.

while he wasnt as expert as ferrus manus or vulkan at crafting things, he did make some incredibly intricate and beuatiful things, and that was his dream life, but he was forced into turning his skills towards perpetual warfare

I don't think they write enough fluff to reuse a ton of names...

He forced himself to do it. He was too fatalistic and paranoia was in his geneseed.
How many times have you seen the name Lucius popped up in the fluff?

How can I make my Carcharodons more Khornate? The goal is to not be super obvious about it, but have keen observers go "hey, your army is secretly corrupted by Khorne, isn't it?".

I already have

- Lots of blood splatter
- All squads in numbers of 8
- All squads have a CCW
- Some chainswords have been replaced with axes

Would having bare left arms be too obvious?

>Charcarodons
>Khornate.

Pick one. The Space Sharks are pure! PURE!

Being too much of a pansy who can't even kill mold in the basement anymore. Who has that picture?

How are bare left arms khornate?

Take a symbol of khorne that's small, but not too small. Divide it Into 8 pieces, embellish 8 characters/vehicles with a piece of it.

Adding to Cut up a Khorne or even chaos transfer and apply the parts on characters/vehicles

maybe some dickhead named KHARN

Not countin' da zoggin' tabletop, Orks iz still da best, roight?

R..roight lads? You 'av'n't gone and mucked about wiv anutha bunch a lads, 'ave ya?

I had my inner Ork awakened playing Battlefleet Gothic.
>two Imperial cruisers left
>one was nearly dead
>my battleship had a grot for a captain and the git left me for dead
>only had one escort left
>still fought on until the end

...

>Ork bro says we should play our bikes against eachother
>He is bringing 27 backed up by 20 boyz in a wagon and Gretchin and some Mek Gunz
>"You only won because my codex is so weak, good game though"

I told that faggot my termis would be a better game, but no a bike v bike game would be fun he said.

Retard.
>Do my Ravenwing face

Model some skulls on the bases

So has the rest of the Bequin trilogy just been totally shitcanned at this point?

It's been almost 4 years and we've heard absolutely no news that I know of.
What is Dan Abnett doing right now? I saw that copies of Warmaster were going for several hundred dollars apiece on Amazon for a while but now it's nowhere to be found online.

tha fuck is going on?

How horrible that he wanted to have some fun playing Mad Max on the tabletop

If that is what you took from that story, you are dumb too.

After I warned him that my Ravenwing would be too strong he said nah and turned down my terminator list (which I prefer to bring against Orks/Nids/CSM) so they have a chance. He denied and we play our bikes v bikes, and he concedes turn 4 and blames it all on his codex.

So if they win they are tactical geniuses, but if they lost its the books fault. That is what pisses me off. Tyranids are the exact same way even if they are spamming big bugs.

Isn't he an epileptic or had a seizure at one point? I can't remember. I think he's slowly losing interest in 40k, and being not being able to write what he wants to write has taken its toll.

sounds really tough having to be the good guy

Is this too Khorney?

>FAQ says you can't take battle brothers transport
>Rule book says you can
Why?

I'm offended that you dare to call that too Khorney. user, if it's not flaming goat raping axe skull flails, and blood skull murder wrath axes you're doing it wrong.

A lot of those FAQs do that. It's retarded. They FAQ shit that didn't even need FAQs, just to make the rules more confusing or to completely contradict rules everyone was fine with and understood.

See also, grenades in melee, then the new FAQ treating them as thrown grenades in shooting.

>40k
>no goat rape

If you can even CALL that 40k.

I haven't seen Khârn tossing flaming axes that being raped by goats made of skulls and flails before sue me.

>tfw the FAQ fucked my admech tourney list
>tfw I now my T: 3 units are getting slaughtered because they have to foot slog across the battle field with 18 inch guns
I should just switch to KDK or Necrons

>after careful analysis, it turned out to be a bad decision. Besides only marines should have drop pods.

Don't worry. In 5 short months you can get access to Mechanium stuff such as their motor pool.

I don't give a shit about War Convocation faglords getting a nerf, but I think it's bullshit for any player, even the cheeselords, to buy hundreds of dollars of Drop Pods or something and then have it be invalidated.

That's some bullshit right there.

I think this is what you want

No idea about the epileptic/seizure thing.
I thought 40k was his thing though. I suppose it would get old after writing 30+ novels for the series but if he is indeed getting tired of it I sure wish he would have wrapped it up rather than just leaving it all hanging.

Gaunt is left trying to incite a civil war between the allied Chaos factions in the Sabbat Worlds, Bequin is left being kidnapped by a Daemon Prince turned Daemonhost controlled by an Inquisitor who's fallen off the deep end, we need some goddamned closure.

Are MANZ worth footslogging? I was going to bring one for my killteam campaign, i need the powerklaw they provide on a sturdier(and less expensive) base than a regular nob but the slow and purposeful feels like too much

Get a deff dread, they can run at least

We just have to wait for the stars to allign.

>this moron actually thinks RAW > RAI
>thinks it's funny that people with enough brains to spot RAW inconsistencies, mistakes, and obviously unintended RAI

How's THIS for preservation, faggot?

Cataphractii Captain can ride bikes and can't take any weapons by RAW.

Its HoR, deff dreads have too much AV. I could bring a kan but the poor weaponskill and number of attacks isnt promising

Take a minimum squad of bikers with a klawnob in it. Decently survivable and will actually get somewhere

>Cataphractii Captain can ride bikes
I still want to see that.

Scibor makes awesome looking Terminator sized bikes. Great for those IH faggots who play the fully upgraded chapter master with the retarded meme name.

>mfw I'll never make my ally SM army, half Flesh Tearers, half Space Sharks

I want equal points on each side. But I think Seth and Tyberos are differently priced due to Tyberos being in termy.

Im going to sound autistic here but i fucking hate bikes. They look dumb, i refuse to use them. You did answer my question though, dont footslog them.

Why are CSM so shit, Veeky Forums?

You can't start the game embarked on your BB transport, you can though embark rhinos during your movement phase and then the rhino, they cut out the drop pod taxi shenanigans though, wich is good since it's supposed only SM can survive that atmospheric re entry.

Wait, IA14 is out in October?

Awesome. Macrolid or whatever it's called is the Rhino of the Ad Mech, right? The one that looks like a train is the Land Raider transport, right?

>mfw I play those armies

I just treat them as two separate armies. You can still ally they just have to be kept away from each other.

I'm going to start Minotaurs next.

Hey at least they aren't tyranids, orkz or dark eldars, those armies truly suck.

Same here. The FW bikes look cool but I don't want to buy the models and I'd still hate fielding them. I wish I could be viable with just basic infantry and maybe some Rhinos. None of this Imperial Knight, flyer, psyker, cavalry, bike bullshit. Back in the day when guys like Abaddon, Calgar, and Mephiston were actually some of the best units in the game.

Because gw can never admit they're wrong, so rather than just admit they fucked up and made war convo way too strong and then nerfing it, they had to stealth nerf it by "clarifying" the rules, and thus fuck over tons of people who were using drop pods, many of whom weren't even running war convo.

Because they're a 5th edition book and it's 7th edition.

I wish people realised that you gain NOTHING by moaning on Veeky Forums.

If you want change, write an email and send it to GW's rule department.

[email protected]

Here. There is the email. They won't reply, but write a well reasoned and 'balanced' dex and explain why X or Y is good and you might get somewhere.

tfw ork player

why does GW hate orks?

>to counter 1 transport they fuck up all kinds of transport for everyone else

CSM are 6E. The first 6E book I think, and currently the oldest.

From a time where GW said "you know what, we're going to NERF this army when it gets updated instead of making them stronger than 5E SW/IG/Necrons/GK, because our plan is to balance the game!" Then they give up once it's time to get Tau/Eldar release.

Saaaame thing happened in 7E. See Dark Eldar, Blood Angels, etc.

That's why whenever GW nerfs an army, I call them on their bullshit but faggots just go "hurrr do you want more Eldar OP stuff it's good they're nerfing people". Except GW NEVER NERFS EVERYONE, THEY ALWAYS GIVE UP HALFWAY THROUGH, AND ELDAR AND TAU JUST GET NUMEROUS BUFFS IN A ROW.

ruleswise or fluffwise ?

I'll use it for some Tau defectors.

Everything is slightly overcosted while not feeling very fluffy either. That's literally it.

Lucky git.

I was thinking of, like

Seth/Tyberos
Sanguinary Guard/Honour Guard/Termy CS
10 Tacticals
10 Death Company/5 Ass Terms
20 Assault
2 Rhinos Each

Or something like that. I liked the idea of a carnage fight off. Each side trying to out do each other. Space Sharks go insane and smash shit while Flesh Tearers temper the rage.

Difficult when they're both different. Trying to think of a points balanced side for each. 750 each. But I want Seth and Tyberos leading them.

Seth wrecks GEQ's with that sword. He does like 6+D3 attacks on charge, but it's only AP4.

You must be a Flamer of Tzeentch cause that was a sick burn.

Because they convert things instead of buying shiny new kits.

True. As I said, contact them and suggest stuff. Only way I can think of fixing the problem.

Except that skitmech troops are fluffed as inhuman tin men, so that argument doesn't really hold up.

Sm players were just assblasted because droppodding admech was more effective, and everyone else was mad cause war convo was too good.
