Well the U.S. is no longer the worlds largest cinema audience so expect this meme to bet replaced by one about china being the best at everything.

When will this meme die?

I recall hearing that that happens to a degree in the newer transformers films - plot and dialogue don't translate all that well, but giant robo-dinosaurs and explosions are the same in every language - make some of the stock helpful military dudes chinese rather than american and you have a billion-strong audience (well, a small portion of it, but that's still a reasonably large number in absolute terms, and it's a number that will grow as the chinese get more money to spend on non-essentials). It's also an audience that's much less bored with big flashy action movies than the west. A win all round for them really

It'll die just as soon as any other country becomes relevant, so never.

>make some of the stock helpful military dudes chinese
>implying the chinese are ever even remotely helpful to anyone
Blake Powell
I'd like to see that in the future but with Germany. Would be new one, especially in Germany. youtube.com/watch?v=HMQkV5cTuoY
Zachary White
>I recall hearing that that happens to a degree in the newer transformers films Are you aware that all the Chinese soldiers in the Red Dawn remake were digitally replaced with North Koreans, because China threatened to bar the movie from Chinese theaters?
It cost less to CGI thousands of North Koreans than to miss out on the Chinese market.
Bentley Gonzalez
You can see it in The Martian too. The book makes no mention of china or their laughable space program, but in the film they make the point of altering the story so that they can be helpful end generally good guys.

Japan doesn't really try to export its nationalist crap.
Samuel Myers
this is the best meme, honestly. Nothing better than watching America go and save the motherfucking day. But maybe that's because it always happened in the 80's, and the 80's had the objectively best movies.
Hudson Roberts
Won't happen, not with such a paranoid state-controlled environment. Hollywood might be extremely safe and formulaic, but there's still a huge amount of trial and error and freedom to push different opinions and views involved.
Nolan Gray
Hold on, this isn't /tv/. Why is this thread here? Did OP make a boo-boo?
Christian Cooper
Hay I'm happy to to BE that token Brit.
At least one major villain mush also be British or no deal.
Brandon Miller
OP is obviously talking about all the military campaigns he's played in.

Here, made it more relevant to contemporary anime.
Matthew Kelly
>When will this meme die? When it stops being plausible, i.e. America becomes an isolationist, decaying shithole that has too much trouble keeping itself from falling apart to be able to save the world.
In other words, at some point between end of Trump's first term as US president and his second one.
Joseph Young
I like it already!
Easton Nelson
>America becomes an isolationist, decaying shithole that has too much trouble keeping itself from falling apart to be able to save the world
It's already at 2 out of 3 of those. The one missing being isolationist but that could change in the next few decades.
Anthony Morris
>It's already at 2 out of 3 of those. oh no lol, it's not. But don't worry, you will be able to tell when it will, looking back to this era of prosperity and wealth.

When other countries actually start paying for their own military and caring about their fellow man instead of being 100% racist fuckwits. :^)
