The only thing I can think of is real estate investment, namely rental property investment. I am thinking I will try to pay off my debt ASAP with the help of my wife's income, and then continuously put a down payment on a new mortgage for a rental property as soon as I have the cash. I'd pay a property management company to deal with the tenants. Is this viable? I want it to be passive income, not a source of headaches.

I could probably get into dermatology, though. Most people find that to be pretty gross. But they can easily make $400K+/year working just 40 hours per week. It's also one of the most competitive specialties to get into, up there with plastic surgery. Doesn't pay quite as well as ortho or plastics, but the lifestyle is significantly better.
