We've seen this before. There was a whole rage thread about it. Basically this 'comic artist' took a funny image macro and made it unfunny, being sure to impress upon us its SJW ideals while its at it. Likely it's passing the comic off as an original idea, when in fact it isn't.

This honestly doesn't look too far off from the average gaming group at my Uni. Like, half of any given gaming group I've joined on campus was half some combination of black or asian and there was at least one woman in every group I've played in for the last three years

I don't know if Veeky Forums is intentionally playing up their bewilderment at the party composition of this comic or if the people in this thread are actually just that out of touch about the demographics of their hobby

The group is distractingly diverse. Could you have a perfect racial and gender diversity of culturally minded people in your roll playing group? Sure, that could happen. The odds are low, but it's not impossible.

But it didn't happen. The artist used race and gender to pander to the demographic on tumblr, which is shameful and degrading to everyone involved. There are people who looked at this and decided it was good because of the races of the people sitting at the table. That's lame.

Out of our eleven regulars, myself and my oldest friend are the only white dudes. The rest of the group is either yellow or varying shades of brown.

I went into this wanting to hate it, and I'm sure the person making it is deplorable, but to be frank I actually thought it was pretty funny.

Having actually looked at the source of this it bothers me that the "writer" and artist are two different people since all the writer did was make a facebook post less funny while mooching off an artist with a lot more talent.

Besides that it's pretty unremarkable.

I find the diversity of the cast to be pretty unbelievable as well, but I'd definitely try to get into the DM's pants.

The problem is not that they're minorities, the problem is that the artist very carefully planned out a set of characters that would appeal to people who ONLY look for racial diversity when they look at characters.

This comic didn't even need to show the group, they're the reason it takes like 5 fucking pages to finish. They got tacked on to pander to white girls on tumblr. Their inclusion adds nothing of substance.

This is very true. Which is likely what the girl in the comic may be. Those would be the 'posers' of the muslim world, picking and choosing what they want so they appear to be open minded and progressive, and also a way to protest the war. She would be wearing the covering for such.

I don't know about you guys, but my principle is, I refuse to be "triggered" from the mere fact that something wears the trappings of something i dislike, if it's not doing the thing I dislike.
