In the last thread the discussion on alternative Primarch homeworlds continued, a World Eater player got advice, debate on Corvus being less manly for not going into a meatgrinder happened, an user got help for finding topknot pieces, dead scorpions might just be in your bedroom, is the HH really getting worse and did BaC not help? So what are you looking forward to the most? The unique legion weapons, Inferno, the new Moritiat, Russ?

I like this abstract a lot, thanks threadboi

Papa Sang and the full FW 30k BAs in general with the DAs too. I'm sort of looking forward to Inferno because I want to see how this new SoHs being sent with Leman bit is going to go down.

Just read Gulliman of the Primarchs arc. Had no doubt I'll like it due to the author. There are mildly OCD parts, but nothing tedious, I just hope Thorpe&Kyme didn't get anything to write.

>Is there anything that can survive 60 AP2 attacks?
Yeah, people with AP3 or better at initiative. I don't trust power armoured dudes to hold unwieldy weapons, unless they're going against other dudes with unwieldy weapons.
Deathshroud can fuck a lot of shit up due to being both non-unwieldy AP2 pseudo-Rampage weapons with 2W, as well as being able to "Look out Sir" foe each other, to better distribute wounds.
And some people say that you could model them like Cataphractii to give them sweet 4++ due to them being equipped with non-specific "Terminator armour".

Anyone have any legions special character builds that are fun, interesting, or OP?
>Blood Angels Praetor, +1 Strength, Perdition Blade, instant death for one assault
Have fun trying to make 5 saves that all cause instant death
>Dark Angels Champion or Praetor, +1 WS, Paragon Blade (sword), +1 WS on the charge
Fucker can hit Fulgrim and Horus on a 3+
>Emperor's Children with charnabal sabre, +1 initiative, and +1 initiative for his unit on the charge
Strikes at initiative 10 on the charge in a challenge. Will still probably lose because of his shitty folded over one million times Charnabal sabre

A really lucky Primarch.

>Have fun trying to make 5 saves that all cause instant death
Fuck you m8 :'(
*Morturg casts Eternal Warrior on the Deathshroud Squad* :^)
>Strikes at initiative 10 on the charge in a challenge. Will still probably lose because of his shitty folded over one million times Charnabal sabre
Charnabal sabres desever better than that. Much, much better than that

Please shit on my up and coming Templar Imperial Fists with Knight allies list. This looks like a lot of fun to me but maybe I just need a reality check.

1995/2000 pts

Imperial Fists:

HQ

Sigismund, no RoW, 230pts

Troops

10 x Legion Tactical Squad, Extra CCWs, Vexilla, Sergeant with Artificer Armor and Power Fist, 240 pts

10 x Legion Tactical Squad, Extra CCWs, Vexilla, Sergeant with Artificer Armor and Power Fist, 240 pts

5 x Templar Brethren, 5 Combat Shields, Champion with Solarite Power Gauntlet, Land Raider Phobos, 460 pts

Heavy Support

Vindicator, Power of the Machine Spirit, Dozer Blade, 150 pts

Questoris Knights Detachment:

HQ

Lord Scion, Knight Gallant, 350 pts

Troops

Martial, Knight Gallant, 325 pts

Not quite. 60 WS4 S4 AP2 attacks ammount to 60(1/3)(1/3)(0.5) = 3.333 wounds, and that's assuming that the Primarch is alone, isn't T7 like Mortarion or Vulkan and killed no one with their non-unwieldy AP2 weapons.
As in, even Angron survives that.

Kyme has a monolopy with the Salmanders so you know he's going to do Vulkan.

Post spoilers!

Aren't they talking about vets? That would be WS 4 S 6 attacks for the furious charge power axes.
So 60 attacks, hit on 4+ (fairly certain) for 30 hits, wound on 4+ (vs T6) for 15 wounds, 4+ save means they are taking 7.5 wounds on average.

Wouldn't they only be A5?

2 base + 1 for two weapons + 2 for rage?

Am I missing something or are anons really bad at either math or rules?

Rolled 9 (1d10)

WTF you need WS9 to be hit on 5+?! Well, maybe if they fail their Fear test...at Ld9. But S5 wounds T6 on a 5+, so they'd be inflicting 5 unsaved wounds. Angron survives with 1 wound due to his FnP 6. Again, assuming he's alone and didn't attack (each dead guy would mean -6 attacks).
Exortations to Butchery grants +1 attack, so:
2 base +1 for pistol +2 for rage +1 for exortations.

Eh, forgot about the axe's +1S. It's 7 wounds.

You are right, Veeky Forums's simply this poor.
Most of the primarchs strike at unmodified initiative, more than half vets don't get a chance to attack at all.

Equipping entire vet squad with power axes and getting them an apothecary costs as much as Angron and he rapes the squad without regard as to who gets to charge.

>Domitar can't take a ride in an Arvus

>Exortations to Butchery

Shit forgot about that, noone mentioned apothecaries so it didnt click

I guess with an apothecary in the red wake they would be almost unimaginably brutal, but delivery is a problem if you go full sized squads

They aren't characters, they can simply challenge. Or so I thought

I'm the same one arguing each casualty would cost the squad 6 attacks. Angron could challenge both the sarge AND the apothecary (who would probably refuse, but that's what Precision strikes are for), and cost the squad 10+ attacks right from the beginning, as well as further 5 for each casualty.
You thought wrong :/
You could even not bring a Centurion and you'd still get a Warlord trait (but no RoW)

beep boop asking again: any crusade imperialis spoilers or changes we know of in their big red book?

I fear that might happen, and Thorpe's all over Lion and Corax. Frankly, Kyme's Vulkan is not that bad, but Salamanders and the rest make up for it.
No.
I'm not sure why's the guy so stuck on FC PW vets. If facing WE, the first thing they'll most likely run into is despoiler blob that will make them roll for anal circumference.

no

Thrope's Law might have to be amended to include RG now that I think about it. Isn't he writing a new Salamanders series?

Kyme I mean.

Fucking shit, I deleted the fuckhueg comment.
Yeah, they'd be killed by those 100 attacks despoilers (9 unsaved wounds), but the point remains:
Vet squads are ded killy, and WE can run them the best:
Even if Angron attacks them and kills half the squad, they still manage to inflict 3.6 wounds on him, after FnP6
UNLESS the vets have Hatred with Berzerker Assault, which allows the 5 survivors to fucking murder Angron, inflicting 5.5 wounds on him after FnP.

>Instead of Kauragar, it could easily have been Angron dying on the ground, his ass 10 feet away chopped off by a Furious-Charge-Hatred-Rage-Exortated_to_Butchery-Traitor Veteran, inverse pic related.

If only WE had a way to get Vet troops while running Berzerker Assault, with some sort of WEloghurst...

Math:

Angron's S7+1 prevents the vet's FnP
7(2/3+2/9)(5/6) = 5.185

PotL vets (aka, troop vets)
(60-(6*5))(0.5)(0.5+(1/12))(0.5)(5/6) = 3.64

Berzerker vets. The 0.75 hit rate is 3/6+(3/6*3/6)
(60-(6*5))(0.75)(0.5+(1/12))(0.5)(5/6) = 5.46

Space Wolves rules when?

Have Angron charge, or in vacuum. It's easier to make the charge with one model than with ten.

>Most of the primarchs strike at unmodified initiative, more than half vets don't get a chance to attack at all.
Not denying that although to be fair what was said was "what can survive 60 AP 2 attacks" the answer to that is not much.

>WTF you need WS9 to be hit on 5+?
I have never bothered to memorize most of the to hit chart, but I remember you have to have an extremely high WS to not be hit on a 4+ by marines. WS chart is bullshit.

WE depend on the charge. Either get it or don't even consider it.

In order to hit someone on a 5+ they need to have more than double your WS.

WS chart is a complete waste of space and time.

Honestly it should be just like the wound chart except you always have a chance to hit/be hit.
So WS 4 attacking something.
>Hits WS 4 on a 4+
>2 on a 2+
>3 on a 3+
>4 on a 4+
>5 on a 5+
>6 on a 6+

I find the WS table incredibly retarded, even if it's made that way presumably taking sweep advances into account, or something like that.
>Be Terminator sarge with power fist, a superhuman with 300+ years of service.
>Try to hit a house-sized Land Raider, needs a 3+
>You roll a 1 and a 2
>The tank parries you attack using the lascannon sponson as a bat.
>"WHOOPS, I MISSED"

The hit chart shouldn't be capped at 3+
Kinda agree.

What do y'all think of my list

2000 point Loyalist Death Guard

RoW-- Pride of the Legion

HQ---

Crysos Morturg

Praetor- Terminator armor, Paragon blade, Digital weapon, Barbarian Thurible

x5 Deathshroud body guards

Elites--

Contempter mortis w/ kheres

Troops--

x5 Deathshroud terminators

x5 Deathshroud terminators w/ melta bombs

x5 Tactical support squad w/ plasma rifles and apothecary

Heavy Support--

x5 Grave Wardens W/ x4 chain fist
and...

Spartan Assault tank as dedicated transport w/ armored ceramite, flare shield

The plan is to go all in with Morturg's warlord trait to infiltrate 3 squads.

Morturg joins my Praetor and his Deathshroud. Together they have -2 toughness on the charge along with Morturg casting endurance each turn making them tough to kill. They go after expensive squads and HQ units.

The Grave Wardens infiltrate in their spartan (with laser destroyers now at close range) and go after vehicles/shoot stuff with poison rounds.

The Tactical support squad with plasma rifles is my distraction carnifex. Hopefully scares the poop out of the other player. They infiltrate with their apothecary and blow up what ever expensive squad the Morturg and my Praetor aren't fighting.

The Deathshroud troops and Contempter mortis work their way up the field claiming objectives.

Everything comes out to 2000 points. Can substitute the plasmas for 6-7 heavy flamers to take out tarpits if needed. Can also take one Deathshroud away from each troops squad and add them to my HQ bodyguards for more Ap2 hits at -1 Initiative

I have an ancient Razorback laying around, could that serve any purpose in a Heresy-era force? I know they don't get Razorbacks out of the box, and Predators don't have the option to take lascannons or bolters for the turret. Just think it's a cool model and was thinking of using it for some Imperial Fists or their derivatives, but would be a shame to scrap the turret and just use it as a Rhino.

Sure, check the Rhino rules in LACAL, you may opt to arm it with some heavy weapons without reducing its transport capaciti. There's also Damocles-pattern Command Rhino in HH5, Ultramarines section.

I never understood what you meant with "Laser Destroyers at close range". They're not melta, and their range is 48" since HH4

How do I go about painting my World Eaters with their red and white traitor scheme, without looking too similar to White Scars?

does an Imperial Fists teleportation transponder confer deep strike a unit if you give it to an independent character? So if I hook up a Primus Medicae with it, can I deep strike a support squad with plasma guns?

Paint them white
Splatter blood for the blood god all over those fuckers

Im not sure how you'd paint the blood so it looks dried up but that may be another option if you ever found out if it can be done.

No? You need the teleportation RoW to do that.

>The hit chart shouldn't be capped at 3+
Mainly this. Elite marines don't need to be hitting guardsmen on a 2+, but it is bullshit that a chapter master with centuries of service hits a Tau Fire warrior with next to no melee training whose Great, Great, Great, Great grandparents were in basic training when the chapter master was a scout only has 4/6ths of a chance of being hit by the chapter master.

>Im not sure how you'd paint the blood so it looks dried up
My guess would be a very light layer of very fine sand in places painted layers of brown and red.

Which legion would experience the worst ping? I'm talking about 999 to 1000+ ping.

Nope. In fact, if you want to teleport him alongside the termies you have to give them teleporters AND buy the IC a teleporter of his own, because "all models must have the deep strike rule".
Ping as in vidya ping?

Yeah vidya ping. I'm thinking World Eaters and Night Lords.

Theories about Custodes rules?

I'm certain Iron Warriors have the worst internet ever. They were issued telephone modems once and never resupplied.

I think they'd just play Dorf Fort and RTSs. But having bad internet would probably be in character for them.

Here's some later Heresy World Eaters

...

Base 5 stats (WS, BS, S, T)
Purchaseable as a single elites choice a squad of 1-10 custodes. Custodes spears are +1 strength, AP 2, two handed.

...

Woops, forgot the left part of the tank spread

...

Will the World Eaters starting becoming more like their modern counterparts in the next book or what? Also who's more damned: them or us for having to wait so long to see this series end?

I just want updated Rampagers, worthy of being called the Berzerkers' forerunners.

So I am starting a Pride of the Legion World Eater list, having come into a few squads of terminators recently.

Is this a good start for it?

HQ: Praetor in Cataphacti Terminator armor, Grenade Harness, Paragon blade, Combi Melta 172pts

Troops: 5 Man Terminator Squad, 1 Reaper Autocannon, 4 Vokalite Chargers, 2 PowerFist, 2 Lightning Claw, Power Axe on leader 243pts

Troops: 5 Man Terminator Squad, 1 Reaper Autocannon, 4 Vokalite Chargers, 2 PowerFist, 2 Lightning Claw, Power Axe on leader 243pts

Troops : Red Butchers, Devourer with chainfist 280pts

Heavy: Spartan Assault Tank: Armored Ceramite, Dozer Blade 320pts

Heavy: Predator with Lascannon sponsons, Hunter Killer Missile 120pts

Heavy: Predator with Lascannon sponsons, Hunter Killer Missile 120pts

Total:1500

> Mostly unchanged, they are generally very happy with the points costs
> Notable exception is Assault Marines who will see a 'massive' points reduction
> Rapiers made more expensive but given new shot profiles (Retribution)
> More an exercise in collating all the new units into one place rather than any significant rebalancing

I would swap the Predators out for Vindicators honestly. Makes more impact on cleaning the numbers of your opponents and can move with the Terminators, unlike the predator which would want to stay back to fire all guns.

This feels like a list that wants to mass move and then blitz the enemy with the butchers.

>Still no primarch helmets
>Still no Alpharius or Dorn

God forbid they release the two primarchs that have had rules for like almost 2 years before releasing one that doesnt even have rules yet.

Your knights will be providing most of the anti tank so I'd drop the vindicator and make the tac squads both FC vet squads with power weapons.

I would have really preferred having them as vet squads, but Pride of the Legion doesn't allow for allies...unless I read it wrong.

Starting Alpha Legion. Got Autlion Skorr because he's a cool model and thought his rules would be good for small games if I wanted, but I was looking at his trial .pdf rules and not the real ones.

Where is Autlion great, using his final version that gives you 3+ fnp after choosing to take the random final turn?

I thought they were going to be a fully fledged list.

They are, he's just a retard.

Anyone got any pics of Iron Warriors in unmodified Mark IV?

Beep Boop

forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Iron-Circle-Domitar-Ferrum-Battle-automata

forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Iron-Circle-Moving-Bulwark

forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/The-Shield-of-the-Iron-Tyrant

Who in their right mind would field six of those?

Eh, it's the maximum number of robots you can get in the unit, and only two more than the minimum you need to make a bodyguard unit.

And I imagine in Zone Mortalis games they'd be a nightmare.

>And I imagine in Zone Mortalis games they'd be a nightmare.
What makes you say that?

Well, they can cut off half the board from each other just by standing around beep-boop-ing.

So what primarch do you think we're going to see at open day?

Im hoping either dorn or alpharius will make a surprise release before russ

Worked it out, neither bundle gives you anything off.

Well, they're T7, with 4+ rerolls against blast and template (which is most weapons strong enough to hurt them at range), and they have S10 AP2.
The enemy basically needs to commit a deathstar or near-deathstar against them in order not to be bogged down by them, and they have the power to critically wound or destroy pretty much any deathstar.
Termies? These guys hit at I3.
Dreadnoughts? Enjoy S10 AP2.

Not to mention they can be joined by an IC, so if cheese is really on the menu, then put a Primus Medicae in with them and enjoy 5+ FNP.

Admittedly, Instant Death might be a problem, but apart from certain special characters who have them, a unit of these guys might be less of an expense for what they provide than a Termie deathstar or semi-deathstar.
I haven't done any significant maths on this, but I'd give a unit of two of these guys a go instead of an IW termie deathstar, if only just because the models look cool.

I forget the rules, but are MCs transportable?
If not, then that's an obvious red card against them, outside of a few specialised uses, but I like the models and the beep boop meme too much to think it's a shitty unit.

>implying beardless Russ isn't actually Alpharius
>implying forcing the 1k Sons into heresy wasn't just as planned

They can't go in a Transport, or Deep Strike with Pert. That's one of the major problems with them.

Can you take Questoris Knights allies while running Pride of the Legion? I want my sniper vets and giant robots too.

Is is just me, or is Loken utterly useless?
>Fails to prevent lodges corrupting his legion
>Fails to prevent Erebus corrupting Horus
>Gets arse kicked by Abaddon
>Fails on mission to Caliban
>Gets arse kicked by Aximand while outnumbering Little Horus 2 to 1
>Fails on mission to Vengeful Spirit (Horus knows Russ is coming, and about the guidance markings)

Going to pick up the betrayal at calth box in the next few weeks to build a Iron Warrior army, aside from maybe a few getting a few heavy weapons from forgeworld. Does anyone have suggestion on what would be good to expand the force with? Been leaning towards some quad mortar and graviton cannon teams.

End of the year, wolf-brother. Then our kin will finally receive the respect it deserves and the Wolf Lird's jaws will lock upon the filthy witches of the Thousand Sins!

Only the markers the SW wanted to be found were found. He's an interesting dude at least, one of my favorite characters so far.

>Thousand Sins
>Magnus did nothing wrong

O GAWD THEY LOOK SO COOL
Is there any way to make them at all worth the cost?
I'm seriously considering just begging my FLGS to let me have a teleportation matrix on Perty so I can do what they actually do in the books

BEEP BOOP

Hey, Perturabo, hey

WHAT

We surround you.

...

You're stuck with us.

Which book is this in? I had asked when WE started going red/white a few threads ago and the response was basically, "nah just Red Butchers." I play a late Heresy army anyway (Kharn has Gorechild, Inductii, etc) so the red/white scheme fits better. Luckily I've only painted 7 Tacs so far so correcting it won't be an issue.

Side note, do we know if Kharn ever went white/red?

This is in book six, part of the fluff where Autek moon slaps Bodt

No info yet on if Kharn went white and red, but I'm guessing he did as most of the legion ended up doing so

I hope we'll get more Iron Circle comics now the models are out.

Beep beep boop! I talked about the Iron Circle getting personalities before, and now for some I came up with.
>Lil' Pertutrabo
>the son Pertruabo never knew he wanted. Acts the most like Pert.
>Jamaal
>mannerisms suggest higher education and is incredibly competent. Lil'Perturabo's right hand robutt

>Who in their right mind would field six of those?
Perturabo

Oh wait, in their right mind? No one

>Beep boop beep beep boop beep
JUST

>Boop beep beep boop
FUCK
>boop beep boop
UP

It is the Beep-Boopstorm, in all its footslogging can't-deep-strike-or-be-transported glory.

Aren't the Iron Circle supposed to all fit inside Tormentor? I guess they upped the size of each Robot which means they'll have to modify the Tormentor Rules to fit all Six Robots.

Fuck this shit nigger, etched brass pre-orders.

At long last, I can finally paint my fucking vehicles.

It will however, never fucking die. You'd need 11 1/2 Sigismunds to kill it in a turn and that's without Perturabo.

>You'd need 11 1/2 Sigismunds
>1/2
Where did you get that from?

Aw shit yes. Dubs proposes some names for the title.

Perturabo & Friends?
