Silly boy, it's Mantic's Necromunda clone. Only a clone that bears little in common with Necromunda other than the scale and army size, oh and keeping Necromunda's "explore your territory" stuff in campaigns.

Oh and yes some people do play it. Which is a good trick seeing as it's not actually released (in 2nd edition) till next week or so.

Can't wait. 40gay is 2normie4me

Fucking gaming edgelords

Imma dump some of my Deadzone stuff. Would love to see other people's work!

Camera(man) is pretty shitty..

These are Reaper Bones minis, not Mantic.
Those IMEF Marines I believe? Might be wrong though.

...

Are these images xboxhuge or fine? Does anyone care even?

Somewhat modified Strider. Good for fighting big gribbly xenos.

...

...

Switching to some more of Delta Squad.

...

Yeah I know, cheesy effects made in photoshop.

...

Does no one read the signs?

I think of these as the right size for images. Also, I'm monitoring this thread since I enjoy tiny dudes, got my dz2 shipment recently, and am curious how the game actually plays after the update.

Big fan of all the different Rebs aliens. Like these yndij. Everyone knows 4 eyes are better than 2!

Ooh still waiting on my Warpath stuff to arrive. But I've lost track of time so I'm unsure when they're supposed to ship.
I also am a fan of people posting their wips and works, thought I'd contribute.

"John, last survivor of the doomed planet Reach"

...

Looking forward to that new sphyr dude with the gun.

The Rebs are mostly done but I still have a small army of Veer-myn, Enforcers, Marauders and Forgefathers to paint. Though they're all in boxes atm.

Yes.

Second edition is a massive improvement on 1st. 1st had too much stuff going on and terrible balance, 2nd trims it all down neatly while still keeping the feel..

Painted up most of my Asterians too but haven't taken pics of them.

Is that a Warzone 2nd ed trencher head?

...

Got a pic of the Forward Observer? He's basically new Doomguy: the Model.

Yes, yes it is. The "theme" of the Rebs are a mishmash of Killzone ISA and Helghast, sort of. My second commander has one too.

You were not kidding. Didn't get him but now I wish I did!

The render. Also apologies, it's called N7-117, Forward Observer is some kind of Enforcer rank.

Got a copy in my KS, assembled but not painted. There's only one colour scheme I can possibly paint him up in.

Early pic of my Plague. Never liked the stage 2A who jumped the barricade so changed the pose a bit and voila! There's also a "stage 2D" there.

My nigga

And to think the KS backer kicked up a stink when they changed the look to that. I'm putting some Pig Iron helmet heads on my enforcers and painting the whole lot green.

Doing some last dumps of Delta Squad. Then there's a bunch of roughs from the Plague but I won't bother you with them.

Nope cause they still haven't sent my stuff.

In case the inspiration was not apparent. Delta squad are from Gears of War.

And the Plague are the Locust Horde from the same game.
Sidenote, the Engineer here is just a slightly converted Sniper.

Pic related.

Also, I discovered that if you fill in the plastic Peacekeepers head slots with balls of green stuff, you get a model that looks almost exactly like the Terran marines from Starcraft.

I wish I could say "they look better in person" but.. After seeing them again this up close. Sheesh. Though I'm still pleased with them so whatever. Thanks for watching and may your shipments arrive soon!

>Terran Marines
Say what!? Gotta try that out. Thanks!

Damn. The models look much better with the Pig Iron heads.
You should convert one with a chainsaw.

Please bear in mind that I haven't played the games for seven years. But yeah, they look like pretty good Terrans to me. Just roll up a ball of greenstuff and carefully put it into the gap where the head goes.

Don't bother with the metal and restic Peacekeeper captain. Their suits are built slightly differently. Just use the plastics.

Wow, just had a look and I have a spare chainsaw in my bits box. My painted Enforcers will have a chainsaw guy in it.

Wait, is this a single or are they changing the direction of the aesthetics?

There are weekly threads(Warpath Wendsday) so yes, Veeky Forums actually plays it. I am currently assembling a Rebel warband with some Infinity and Reaper miniatures. I plan on getting the actual strider once it goes back on sale of course, along with the rest of the reb models.

I like the direction the rules are taking so far. I like how their game is meant to scale up with Warpath Firefight and Warpath proper, though I don't plan on playing either soon unless there are sufficiently cheap reb plastics.

Out of curiosity, what are you using these as?

That's a different mark of armour as used by "forward observers". The plastics remain the standard for normal Enforcers.

>My painted Enforcers will have a chainsaw guy in it.
That makes me happy.

>Warzone bits
Oh God. If only Prince August still sold that big plastic bundle.

>Upholding the honour of the Sphyr
>Only works for plague

So according to the PDF and the hardcopy rulebook Forge Father Specialists can't take magma cannons but can take magma rifles. Is this a missprint? according to the store page pic related is amagma cannon not a rifle.

Forgot my pic like a tard.

Just got FAQed on the forum to quote:

Basically, yes, that should be a Magma Cannon in Deadzone, to match the other games. Thus the below bit of errata:ta:

Page 68: Steel Warrior Specialist (Stormrage Veteran): Weapon options: Small Arms, Light (Automatic, Explosive, Assault) Heavy (Automatic, Assault)

It's a brilliant game. I love it. And I usually do a Warpath Wednesday, but I missed this last wednesday for reasons, but I'll be sure to do one next wednesday. I'll go ahead and pose the OPpasta in the threads here for people's reference.

What is Warpath?

>asterian and veermyn faction starters and boosters

We havent gotten anything new on the warpathuniverse website though yet. Im looking forward to the other factions' dossiers

I feel Deadzone needed more testing.

It did, but only with the army list balancing. The rest of the game is pretty sound when it comes to gameplay.

Is that fucking desert punk on the left?

well, she did go insane from the infection and sees shit completely wrong.

Oh yeah, the core is solid, but the army lists are all over the place.

I agree. They are doing a big faq and a lot of players are airing their grievances about the lists on the forums.

yeah i brought it up in the playtest but i feel that having weapon replacements not refund the cost of the weapon being replaced is kind of fucking garbage

Bet you say the same thing about sucking dicks. At least it's different, eh?

They should've just left it a lower base cost and no pre-equipped weapons on any with options, would've made things easier.

Sorry friend, but according to the United Nations putting willies in your mouth is A-OK.

I kind of want to buy into this, but I'm not sure if I want to drop 100$ on this, or Kings of War.

Well it's probably not much help, but $100 will likely get you everything you need for Deadzone, wheras that sum would put you well on your way with KoW, but you'd probably need to spend another $50 or so to get a competitive army together. A lot more if you need to build and populate a gaming table too.

KoW does have better "market penetration" at the moment though (not least by being actually available to actually buy right now), so getting a game of KoW is likely to come easier at the moment. Perhaps that will change if Deadzone does take off, but that remains unclear right now.

>Rip and tear until the task is done!

Was thinking of using them as Enforcers (since Cog soldiers are such badasses). But honestly, any force might work as long as it fits with the models. Maybe Marauders?

Enforcers make the must sense overall. I like how each model actually is distinct from the other ones. Also next time around, thin your paints.

I'm actually using mine as rebs. A human-centric rebel force.

The NOVAcorp guys are rebel troopers, the IMEF (not CoGs) are rebel grogan counts as (heavier armour accounts for the better survive, and grogan can go in just rifles now. I have one with the gatling gun which is the counts-as onslought). Then the chick with the sniper rifle is a rebel sniper, and I have a couple other chronoscope minis that can counts-as rebel commanders.

I was thinking enforcers, but the IMEF guys are not big enough to be peacekeepers, and enforcers are a little taller than the NOVAcorp guys. I find they just fit with rebels better.

Im thinking they will also be a well funded reb organization, probably from a corp who primarily targets and sabotages their rival corp.

Pic related: left to right:
>rebel commander with blaster
>rebel commander with long rifle
>rebel sniper
>rebel teraton

forgot pic

That's not too bad. I imagine that the prices must put their Mantic equivalents to shame. I plan on getting some of the Reaper Greys to use as Zees, along with some GW Vespids to use as Kraaw(They can't take blaster apparently so I will just fluff their weapons as rifles) and a bunch of Infinity Haqqislam guys as the human troops.

That's rougher on people who want to pick some crap as listed out of the book and play right away, though.

I honestly get why they are doing it this way. Just the weapons that replace the existing ones are priced with the refund in mind. Not all of them are that way, but it works for some.

Think of the rebel grogan with rifle. He's 12 pts. Giving him an onslought adds 3 points. Pretty cheap for a supression weapon. If you want, you can consider the onslought as being 5 pts because a rifle is 2pts,

So a naked rebel grogan *shudder* would be 10 points, and add 5 for an onslought, and it comes to 15 pts, same in the current system.

Most of them work out this way with the weapon options. Sure there are a couple weird quirks with some of the models+weapons, but for the most part it works.

The biggest problem with the system is some of the leaders with specialized kit and models already with non-basic gear. Veer-myn have it the worst, the Brood Mother is costed with weapons that you'll most likely trade out, and their specialist has a 6 pts gun on it standard, without cost figured for weapons like your example.

I get it.

Honestly my brother and I are thinking of running a campaign soon, and we would most likely strip all models down naked, reducing their model costs base on the weapons they are carrying, then go from there.

It works for Necromunda.

Anything in particular fucked with the army lists?
Beyond this model/weapon price problem?

Not really, just pricing on things. Forge Fathers and Veer-myn are bit expensive compared to other lists, while things like Marauder suits are slightly under-priced.

>while things like Marauder suits are slightly under-priced.
Slightly? The ripper rainmaker is fucking insane. Can you believe people are saying it should have fire control?

Oh, and the weirdness of the Asterian Cypher Prime not having a shoot stat, even though it can take ranged weapons.

Any more pics?

THIN YOUR PAINTS MAN! THIN THEM!

pics of what?

i think he wants pics of minis and stuff. i got a bunch

this is a conversion I did, that i'm pretty sure is legal now. It's an assault enforcer on monowheel scout bike

NOT MINE but I like the scheme.

And this is what I did with the pathfinder that was on it. Shes just a regular pathfinder now

And this is a plague 3a general. The cloak and beret are from the tempestus scions kit.

That's pretty cool! Gotta check out the new book. Seems I've missed a lot of new rules.

Haha I love the general! Good use of the pathfinders too. Might snag that idea mate.

the rest of my enforcers

The new book is here

My forge fathers, and the kitbashed thor pattern iron ancestor.

Here's the iron ancestor. Made from the dreadball iron ancestor and a bunch of other bits. He's Dunhill the Indomitable

Currently the thor pattern iron ancestor is super overpriced with little benefit, but the conversion project was fun nonetheless.

These are some item counters I made out of dreadball xtreme crates. I ground out the original symbols under the lids, printed off deadzone item symbols on label paper and stuck them inside.

And here they are with their lids on. You randomize which lids go on which crates to avoid unfair advantages.

and Ill dump some of my favorite well painted minis i got off the forum for the fun of it.

...

New pictures appreciated. Been thinking about trying to get it started in my area.
