last thread Akiratrip explained that for team ups the best stats of each member are combined. neither of the rumblestumpers has higher stats than Akira. we're good here.

I couldn't make it last week, and I'm frankly disappointed we decided to drop the full Dere commitment and chose to attack instead of doing a no-kill run for once. Still, as long as we've chosen to attack, we might as well go for it instead of backing out. I'm tempted to vote for the Run option, but I know I'd be in the minority anyway.

Putting that aside, Hisao doesn't belong to Emi. Saying Yes implies that he is.

Plus, 'til now I'm honestly not satisfied by trying to play full-dere.
Dunno if we always picked wrong choice when we were, or if we need too much efforts to mantain full-dere, and good affection with our allies, and good affection with the Hisao, all at the same time, but 'til now I think we didn't receive enough benefits by trying the full dere.

I'm not referring to the initial decision of attacking as soon as the riot started - that was clearly a bad idea given that Shizune plans on people making obvious moves. I'm talking about the chance to tell Emi and Rin they should leave. I honestly think it would have been more interesting to manipulate our way into victory without directly fighting anyone, but, ah well. We're getting into a fight now regardless - might as well commit to the choice and get these nuisances out of the way before we move on to our arch nemesis.

It has the effect of dropping a match into a pool of gasoline. In an instant the hallway explodes. Everywhere, improvised blades like scalpels and screwdrivers slam into Akira’s array of knives. You barely even had time to blink. Emi’s power… it’s so much higher than when you fought her before… Has she fallen into madness that far over Hisao?
Then she definitely has to die.
Feeding off Akira’s bloodlust, you charge into Rin, who snakes about in the hallway like a wraith – hurling her demonic scickle-wielding dolls at you.
These ones are equipped with instruments like wires and lunging capacity. You almost lose a piece of your head as you barrel to one side to survive this new array of attack.
WHAM.
Before you can recover, Rin herself weaves in out of nowhere and skull-bashes you clean in the face, reeling, you draw on the power of Akira and turn it into a roll. The artist simply stares at you as her dolls once again begin creeping around the shadows, fueled by the blasphemous power of toast.
CRASH.
Akira, meanwhile, is smashed through a window as Emi uses her superior maneuverability to slide around to her knee at the cost of losing a screwdriver. A terrifying clacking echoes through the blood-drenched hall as she turns to you with an insane grin. You brace yourself for death before Akira clamors back in – arm now bleeding a bit from being cut on the broken windowsill. Eyes burning, she runs her finger over it, licks the blood, and... starts giggling. Something horrible floods the air.

I agree 100%. It would be fine if we used the dere to plot sone horrible murders and machinations, or at least do sonething. Right now we're just trying to appear as the good girl to everyone around us, with no end goal in sight, other than having everyone be our "ally" or sone shit.

Like I said, even though I disagree with fighting, we might as well go all-in and try to actually get something done. Admittedly, the Dere path was starting to get us some Hisao points and some allies, but we weren't accomplishing a whole lot in the short term. Perhaps it was too much long-term planning that we were doing; maybe now we can at least make some tangible progress.

Sorry to hear you can't really stay, but we're glad to see you nonetheless. I was afraid you had no idea this quest was back.

Akira has tasted blood, and she wants MORE.

You look to Akira and freeze. Something darker than anything you’ve seen in her before has risen to the surface, summoned by the taste of fresh blood. Like a deep-sea Kraken rising from the Nordic waters to devour a Narwhal.

Before you can blink, Akira ‘moves’ into Emi again. You’re not sure how to describe it other than ‘movement’. She just somehow flickered about through the air as if a movie had some of its frames randomly taken out. Emi herself reels against the new form of attack as blades apparently materialize out of thin air.
A deathmatch is an odd time for introspection, but you realize you’ve never seen Akira get serious before. Emi goes flying after an exchange of blades that sounds more like rainfall than anything.
Then Rin’s dolls launch their assault on you. Feeding off this strange and unknown madness drives you beyond your limits as you weave through them towards Rin.
This power… this insanity… is incredible. Is it possible to attain this power wholly for yourself?
Your razor blade shaves off a bit of Rin’s hair as she narrowly ducks to the side. “Bitch. I know I said I needed a haircut, but not that kind.”
‘Mind if I give a try?’… is what Akira normally would have said. Now, however, she just twitchingly walks to your side in total silence and tilts her head, staring at Emi and Rin with wide eyes and a hollow smile.

I'm doubtful also on long-term. Or at least, I'm doubtful we can costantly commit to pursue the full dere, anytime we made a yan move (and sometimes we'll lose more than 1 dere point) we have to force our actions for at least 1 choice to regain it, regardless how that choice can be the best.

Maybe we aren't supposed to do that. It's all right if we don't have full dere meter. In fact, the best thing is probably to perform yan actions whenever we have full dere and try to stay at just-short-of-full-dere.

That way we don't over-dere, which just wastes the dere points.

A moment of stillness, or as still as you can get in the middle of a death-riot, combat breaks on the four of you again.

Theirs is a strange fight – more like watching a samurai battle a dragon moreso than any kind of proper duel. Whereas Emi’s power is drawn from her almost-neurotic training, Akira’s strength is instinctual. Her movements are quite simplistic but since there’s no delay between ‘thought’ and ‘action’, she moves with a speed the even Emi struggles to match. For every blow Emi makes, Akira makes three or four.
Her eyes are bloodshot. Her breath is coming in ragged gasps. Her hair… still looks like a chocobo. But everything else is terrifying. Whatever kind of limits she has, she’s stopped caring about.
Drawing on that same strength, you sieze a doll as it lunges and swing it squarely into Rin’s head.
Both girls go reeling back. Rin picks herself up lackadaisically while Emi rolls to a crouch and closes her eyes as if to focus…

But during this KY, my hate reached an unthinkable peak. It's pretty obvious Shizune set this up because she knew it would probably end in at least one of her rivals dead. In a way, we're playing into her hands while she gets more Hisao points. The best way to salvage the situation and get some benefit of our own, however, is to make sure we also eliminate a rival or two.

I'd say yes if we still have enough Dere by that point to pull it off, but I'm fairly certain we lost quite a few just by starting the fight and going with the "Yes" option at the start of this thread. On a side note, I'm honestly curious to see just how many of those pics that dude has. Seems like he was prepared to dole them out as a fight goes on, which I'm almost impressed by.

I don't think they'd be willing to cooperate. Emi's got too much pride for that.

Another good matter of discussion. We tried to be Dere 'til now, maybe the right choice is to take also them as allies. Or maybe better have less people around (I'll regret EVER to spare them if they after won't join our side).

Yeah, it seems we found a real villain. If Katawa Yandere will ever be reviewed on villainspedia, Shizune will deserve a place almost only for the route we're playing.

I think the Yan choice was, He Doesn't Belong To You.
That's possessive and dominant.

We may be able to pull something off to turn her off Hisao. Maybe confronting her about her Daddy issues may snap her out of it.
It's always a possibility and it would mean that we would gain an advantage over Shizune rather than letting her pull a coup by eliminating a rival and gaining Hisao points at the same time.

As you approach, suddenly they tradeoff opponents – Rin sends a string of dolls at Akira while Emi suddenly materializes beneath you, laughing like a loon and hellbent on repurposing your liver as a pincushion. Hectically you bat away Emi’s attacks while Akira alternates between smashing Rin’s dolls and stuffing them into a suitcase.
Then they switch off again.
Maybe they both needed to take a different-angled view of your combat styles, but suddenly each seems better-adapted than before. A doll slashes your thigh while Emi weaves through Akira’s chaotic attack and stabs her with a screwdriver. She blocks with her hand and takes a legblade to the gut.
Both of you scamper back and regroup, then face down at each other in the blood-slathered hallway.
Akira pulls out the screwdriver and tosses it off to the side without changing that strange soulless expression. Emi, on the other hand, has begun laughing as if intoxicated from the combat-high. You and Rin are silent.
The four of you are all beaten up, all frenzied, and all running low on reserves. This fight is reaching its conclusion one way or another. You…

Y'think? The way I interpret it, saying "He doesn't belong to you" means "He doesn't belong to anyone - not yet." I guess you could see it as "He already belongs to me", though. Hard to say which one is really more Yan than the other. Judging by how explosive it made Emi on Round 1, though, I'm under the impression the Yes option was.

They're getting just as familiar with our attacks as we are with them, though, so I'm fairly certain that would be a net gain of zero anyway.
