Revised is a set of fan-rules, written almost entirely by a Dark Eldar player. It shows.

First for Eldar nerf never.

Second for Chaos. Just raze faggots.

>Assassinate mission
>Enemy battleship about to warp out
>Lightning strike fails despite Astartes favour
>Launch salvo of torpedoes into it, knock it down to Hard turn ships to broadside, knock it down to Turn ships to ram, select all ships and order all ahead full.
>My cruisers are too far away.
>It's going to escape, fuck.
>Suddenly my one remaining sword frigate that I totally forgot about charges in from offscreen from the opposite flank.
>WITNESS ME
>Embeds itself in the battleship's spleen.
>Frigate dies instantly, kills the battleship.

ONLY IN DEATH DOES DUTY END.

Spire is such a hunk.

Also what the fuck do they do to him in that chamber in the big intro cinematic?

They're interrogating him, probably using some kind of archeotech device or psychic power to delve into his mind.

Ah swords, is there anything they can't do?

So Sword > Firestorm?

I've got a question for those of you who have bought models from aliexpress. Are all of the escorts in a pack the same mold? With the original BFG models from GW there were a couple differences between the escorts you would get in a blister, kind of like when you could buy aspect warriors in blisters. Have the recasters kept this or are they all the same mold?

No, they have variances to them just like the originals.

Doesn't stop me from adding even more modifications.

Awesome. Speaking of modifications, have you seen this thread on warseer?

Launch torpedoes

>2v2
>fightan
>evil sunz kroozer fails save, starts to retreat right as I was getting it into ramming position
>use other evil sunz kroozer to traktor enemy ship into the retreating kroozer
DATS WOT YA GET, YA GROTZ
For some reason that may well have been my happiest moment yet in BFG.

Speaking of escorts, all they seem to be doing for me in the campaign is dying, with the cruisers doing all the work.

I haven't even bothered going for an escort heavy force considering how easy my cruisers cut through the enemy escorts.

The problem with the Firestorm is the same as any Macro and Lance ship in the Imperils Navy. Upgrade wise you need to go either AP for macro or range and shield damage for lance, otherwise they won't work properly.

A Sword with AP does more damage at 3k to a wide range of targets than a Firestorm at 6k to a heavy armored one.

Swords work just fine with AP, +100 HP and +100 SP. Keep them at 3k with broadside so they don't stop moving (most useful against Eldar and Chaos)

Firestorms are only good against IN and Ork even then 2 Swords and 1 Firestorm works better.

I'll have to try using Swords more.

If I have to take escorts I'll usually drown the enemy in a wave of Firestorms. Sure I lose some but they do their job. Even against Eldar they've done okay.

Thought I'd read early on that lance weapons were better against Eldar but then didn't play for most of a month after that. Now everybody is saying they're shit against them? They still seem to land hits.

I don't get it, I'll try mixing things up more though.

Well since Eldar can only play Pulsar with Stealth (because any other option is sadly crap), the extra range of the Firestorm means shit.

Taunt, vision, torpedoes, stasis, plasma. Basically anything that can do reliable damage and/or zoning works like a charm against Eldar.

Traktors work magic on eldar.

If you can locate them, protip: you don't. Good eldar always use back flip maneuver to evade detection.

Implying no mwj or warp induction cells

get advanced sensors, ya grot

Nobody's telling you they aren't broken and in an unhealthy state at the moment, but they aren't totally unassailable. Git gud.

I'm not, there already taunt and coiling for engines, can't fit more.
Yea i have all that on battleship but even then they manage to get out and rehide. And it's only takes 2 beams to destroy said battleship.
This bullshit is absolutely imbalanced. It's like having nova cannon with absolute precision that not only take out your shield but half of your biggest ship health with it.
I will when i have spare renew.

Vaul's maneuver isn't shit.

The thing that's actually difficult to deal with is when you catch a battleship or battlecruiser, taunt and traktor it but then it just MWJs away.

Speaking of battleship, should i go for 300% crit chance increase for Zzap cannons? I have 3 of them. Tricky part is that i can only shot once per aiming order since they reload so slow and don't know is it really worth it. And you have to time it. Too bad there no reloading timer on guns.

Some things are better in victory at sea

No, it's not worth it compared to the alternatives.
Chaos gets the most mileage out of that one, followed by elves.

So what i should go after speed/turn upgrades? I got +3 turrets because bombers annoy shit out of me and i have some slots left.

In the campaign you can succeed by relying on ramming. But a swarm of swords is great against Eldar.

Turn and belt armour.
Combustion gauge and MWJ take care of your forward speed and repositioning nicely.

You should reroll your battleship to not have Zzaps because they're abysmal and use the kustom points for heavy kannons/mega kannons instead.

They don't synergize with the rest of the ork playstyle at all.

Should i get one squadron bay for support?
Or just all heavy kannonz? Replace torpedo bay with kannonz? I could probably fit light cruiser 92 with this setup on 300 points.

I just do kannons on the front and sides. The front kannon is ridiculously powerful and goes well with ramming.

I have only 3 points i can do 3 side kannonz or 2 front and one side.
Do front kannons spin like zap turrets?

Mega Kannon on the front, one set of heavy kannons on each side.

Or whatever do your own thing and see how it works out. That's how we're supposed to teach kids these days, right?

Okay, already brought favor, will it reroll? It's bad enough that i have to buy all upgrades and skills again.

Favor should stay.

Favor stays, hopefully you put a traktor cannon on it!

I have Goth.

Eh, oh well. At least it wasn't one of the other two.

>be chaos
>play 2v2
>instead of 300 pts each, we get 360 points
>holy shit i can run 2 Styxes for a total of 8 launch bays
>look at enemy
>see eldar
>be forced to bring slaanesh slaughters instead

fucking knife ears

What kind of variances are they? I ordered a squadron of Cobra escorts recently.

Does the Khorne favor's boarding buff effect boarding ordinance? Or just teleport attacks and close range assaults?

The amount of salt Eldar produce is worth enough to play them.

That said I still think they need a revision, after playing them, the absurd range and damage output of pulsars is ok, you need some skill to use it to its full potential.
The stealth mechanic is broken as fuck, making the previews statement void, since any skill needed is negated by stealth and a bit of petience.

Also non pulsar option suck balls.

This is an excellent thread. I assume those are the recasts being used?

Yep. Looks like Irene's stuff.

Are they the better shop to buy from on Aliexpress?

Definitely. Very established and reliable shop with good quality casts and customer service. Prices are occasionally $1-2 higher than other shops, but that's pretty negligible.

A lot of it is utterly baseless too, when I play orks I get beaten by eldar about as often as any other faction, largely because eldar players inexplicably suck.

Can anyone identify the ships on the left side of this picture?

Look like escorts with a non-standard prow. Maybe a Mechanicus variant?

They look like the GW versions of the Space Marine escorts. Most likely Gladius or Nova class

Probably one of the space marine escorts, I'm not sure which, though.

It is a Space Marine escort, Hunter class if I recall, torpedo spamming variant if I recall.

Now that I'm looking them up they do seem kind of similar.

>The Hunter class is armed similarly to the Cobra, but is a little faster, allowing it to react quickly to openings the enemy provides. The vessel is equipped with Torpedo tubes and a Weapons Battery. The same shield and turret array complement found on the Cobra class is fitted on a Hunter class. The Hunter is also more heavily armoured than a Cobra, providing it with a little more survivability in a combat situation.

Should make things interesting.
I wonder if they'll release one with a more powerful sensor array like the Widowmaker?

...

My guess is they are some sorta SM escorts.

Definitely Hunter class escorts if you ask me.

I'm collection screen cap of chaos player salt, against Eldar.

So i started new admiral and guess who i got matched with my lvl 2 admiral? A lvl 8 admiral of course.
At least i got shit tons of points so i could ram him ass with 3 of my lvl 1 ships.
Glorious victory for Emperor.
After Orks imperials feels so maneuverable.

Them Dauntlesses, mang'

The Desolater isn't all that in MP so far.

It's a great support ship, with those ludicrous lances, but I prefer the Despoiler with its varied loadout.

Wish I had friends who played this game, 2v2 is fun, but would be even more fun with friends.

Carnage or Murder, Veeky Forums? Which is the better brawler for chaos?

I have friends who are willing but they want to practice against AI first so we are just waiting for that to release.

Any news on the rumor that Hawk is going to make new BFG shit?

Slaughter

>2v2 against Imperium and Eldar
>me and my ally get them down to last ship, a single Eldar cruiser with torpedoes
> it's about to die
>my game crashes

Is there anything more frustrating than that?

The game need smaller maps or fix the stealth and speed mechanics.

>GW letting a company they don't own completely have any kind of oversight on one of their games.
Nah.

>even smaller maps

>they want to practice against AI first so we are just waiting for that to release
I have news for you...
store.steampowered.com/news/?appids=363680

I like the murder, personally, but the prow lances are of dubious usefulness.

Stuck Khorne on mine, and I silent run it to a gas cloud and wait, before ramming it in the rear of their lines and doing some work before dodging out again.

Requires good timing though - if you jump in too early, you'll get focused, too late and your opponents are all spread out or worse they're in mid turn and you've got ranks of weapon batteries pointed your direction.

This game isn't even worth playing until the Eldar get nerfed.

Git gud u spikey humie

They should remove the ship count in cruiser clash, makes ambushes impossible.

Some how I think you just play Eldar or chaos.

Just use silent running.

>ambushes

>not camping in multiple clouds and spamming torps and novas

All factions, actually, though IN the most.

I'll play with you lad. Steamid is jordanbraico

FILTHY PRIMITIVES DON'T KNOW VOID STRATEGY!

fake id baka

You mean Bakka

Don't remind me that those ships have yet to be added to the game.

Do you think we're gonna get a lance based battleship for the Imperium? There is the Apocalypse with lance batteries and nova cannon. Then there is the "more modern" Victory class which is a modified Retribution with lances instead of plasma batteries.

Can an equal number of points of escorts take on the equal of line ships here?

Playing Imperial campaign, and escorts just aren't coping for me.

Easily. Escorts work better in large numbers. A single escort is just a fly to swat, but a large number are more like a pack of sharks. Torpedo spam works very well against large ships and gunboat swarms eat up smaller ships and Eldar with ease.

The problem is the more of them you have in an area the more pathfinding goes to shit and the more you have to micromanage them. Also the AI will almost never use it's torpedoes if you set them to autofire.

Gah, just had a real shitshow of a mission. Convoy defence against orks in a map with radiation. All sensors cut to 50%, which combined with the sensor blackout made everything blind as a bat. I just could not do ANY damage to the damn ork ships. It wasn't until the mission was half done that I realized that none of the ships in the battle were firing their weapons AT ALL. Other than torpedoes (which I had to trigger manually) and skills I had no way to deal with the enemy ships.

I eventually got lucky and torpedoed a cruiser down, that set off a tantrum spiral and the orks fled.

Emprah blesd torps

Ok, cool

I've just been filling out the points with a couple of escorts, and I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that they'd perform poorly compared to the other 2 cruisers, for example.

I'm just gonna post this here.
fistsofheaven.com/gearbox-homeworld-remastered-patch/

Kinda funny how they differ to tabletop

It's all zoom and boom with torps coming from the sun there

Hold up, is that a patch that restores classic formations?

Is this an offensive build? Don't forget short burn torps.

Cant decide what upgrade to put on my Retribution next and lost the list I'd made.

I already have:
Power Ram
Armour Piercing
Belt Armour
Voss Shield

The weapons are already 12k range so I see little point in going for turbo weaponry.
Targeting Matrix?

It's space, map not suppose to be small.

Hey, user who is about to buy the game/wants to play on tabletop and I was wondering, I heard that GW is bringing back specialist gamesincluding Battlefleet Gothic... is this incorrect or correct and if it is correct when is this happening?

Just a curious user, seeking this knowledge

Yea i would probably go the same.

Think they're working on a new version of BFG, but it's a ways off yet.

The current version is fine to play as is if you want to get into it (basic blue rulebook + Armada).

I want the Apocalypse over the Victory, it has better armor and lance ability.
