Why would I need to guard the treasure if the oni are already on it?

Too many ideas for cyoa right now, and political party has become a lower priority. Some of these other cyoas I wish to do include.

>Powers cyoa (already have some of that done)
>Maybe a cyoa with order as the theme (as opposed to pic related.)

With that said, which of these sounds the most interesting? Also, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

All of them seem interesting, but the last one got me confused.
What exactly would it entail?

Not much of an idea yet, something about becoming an semi-divine being charged with instilling/maintaining order on earth and possibly beyond. It's actually a lower priority than my political party cyoa.

Could be interesting if done right, though it seems like it would be a part of a larger cyoa. Regardless my interest is peaked.

Let's assume for example a pirate with a Man o'War for the canons, Lorraine for rumors and Always a liar manages to draw the Oni out and blast them to hell with their ships canon.. ONI issue solved. You might not want to rely on a single line of defense.

Are those oni or ONI? Because ONI has invisible spaceships with nukes.

Always wanted that HUD from that college cyoa so a whole cyoa dedicated to the idea could be neat.

To be apealling the HUD would have to be able to do things that might be hard to explain though. For example the HUD might display peoples names but how does it know peoples names?

"A wizard did it" isn't sufficient?

Yea that one. I know a wizard did it is sufficient but the premise might be sci-fi depending on the author which might require better hand-waving. So a big consideration in making it would be if it is magic, and if it is magic the options could be significantly different such as the HUD can detect magic or tell you if your summoning circle is incorrect.

Even if it's sci-fi, "Aliens did it" is also sufficient, at least for CYOA's

It could be that your HUD taps into the government's facial recognition/citizen identification database and displays the name. You could take this into dystopia or utopia, depending.

I am not bringing this up as a matter of limitation for the cyoa (there are none) but to give the best suggestions we should know how the author is going to hand-wave the whole thing as it drastically changes the potential character of the cyoa.

This is what I mean by character, huge differences between a using big-brother or magic or aliens or whatever.

Will determine the setting latter, aiming for as close to modern Earth as possible (with some exceptions depending on how you get the HUD.) For now I will focus on the functions of the HUD.

Few first impressions. First, is there any Transformation/Custom CYOA that wouldn't also be in the Fetish category? Also I'm, unfortunately, not seeing a way to mix Fetish in with an Adventure category. There's Fringe Kinkiness but I was thinking something along the lines of a CYOA that fleshes out the "Magical Realm" benefit from Enchante/d/ Rings as an example. A Transformation/Fetishy Adventure, basically.

Other than that, some of the text formatting is a bit hard to read in some places. The Worldbuilding text could do with a sharper outline and Visual Design 2 is obviously hard to read but that's the joke so it's fine. Further down, the parts where the text lines cross the Genre/Subgenre lines is a bit hard to read. It doesn't block enough of the text to make it not understandable but it does sort of all blur together. It's just warm colors on warm colors on warm colors. The Adventure heading is particularly egregious here.

Overall though, very impressed with the work put into it. I really like the idea of having a scoring system in a CYOA, that's an idea I've been mulling over, although I'd use it in a less meta way. I'm wondering if it might be overly complex but I haven't really starting digging in to that part yet.

I know that there's at least 1 cyoa about becoming a waifu. To tell you the truth, I never really thought about this question very hard; in retrospect you're probably right, although maybe I'm just having a brain fart and can't think of the examples right now.

Fetish + Fantasy Elements is probably what you;re looking for. Add in High Power if it gives actual powers.

Or some sector of the light spectrum(like a lamp blue light or candle light or blacklight or even a wavelength not observable by humans like magnetism or such) is incredibly hurtful to your visor and, even when you close your eyes and shut down, still remains like a plasma burn in your consciousness.

Imgur compresses images horribly. You can probably find his other CYOAs in the Dropboxes and Google Drives in the Pastebin, but the only other ones I think are the Make-A-Weapon one and Stardust + DLC.

Seems easier to go with a general mech theme with a story instead.

I have actually thought of those two just recently, yet the drawback I was talking about there was a clock that, every time you used your HUD, it would display how much longer you will live (assuming you get into no accidents.)

The HUD needs a certain vitamin or enzyme to interface effectively with your neural system. This chemical is cheap and easily obtainable as an over the counter drug, but you need to take it daily or you'll go blind aaaadam. For bonus points, your favorite food or drink interferes with whatever the drug is so you have to give it up. And no, the HUD process is not reversible.

It's simply an older generation model and it has a 10 minute booting time. And it goes down every time you go to sleep, no matter if it's a quick 5 minute nap or a 12 day winter hibernation. Also has slight overheat/buzzing problems if the uptime is above 16 hours.

The heuristic data acquisition tools sometimes can't gather info fast enough and have to guesstimate to give you partially accurate info. And sometimes the guesstimation is completely off. This false info remains on screen for about a second before retrieving the real deal, if still available.

Limited memory. This HUD only has an effective 16MB Internal memory instead of the Petabytes available for regular models. So you can't replay your favorite striptease or the hearwrenching romance movie you saw three years ago.

App limit. RAM limitations limit you to 3 apps onscreen(and your basic visual field without overlays is one). So you can't be shitposting on 4chins while watching porn and checking your fab subreddits while walking all at once.

Or maybe no apps oir otherwise this turns into Cyberbrain CYOA.

You make choices about what kind of waifu you want. You are then assigned one based on those choices, but it's more or less random, and may or may not match any of your criteria. In actuality, all of the waifus are 'flawed' in some significant way, and are mostly just ripped off of real-life case histories. They come from all kinds of shitty human backgrounds, from alcoholic families, from child abuse cases, from having psychological issues... maybe they're a pathological liar, or maybe prone to cheating, or maybe they have just failed utterly at life.

In truth, they're all good people at heart, but you don't get to see that. You're only given a short first impression before all of their differences and troubles come to slap you in the face, and you have to decide whether to put in the effort to try and make it work, (they're your waifu after all, right?) or to leave them. There are no epilogues.

Everyone hates it for being a deceptive, inconclusive piece of shit, but it's compelling enough that a lot of people are drawn in to read the whole thing. The parade of real life issues is hella depressing, but in the end everyone feels like they learned something.
