nothing inherently wrong with what you said i just find it a bit puzzling that somebody "wants to build melek" but doesnt want to storm or cast big spells, his ability expressly has to do with casting instants and sorceries
maybe your idea of storm/big x spells is more specific than mine is so ill give you the benefit of the doubt, but just intuitively you would think theres another blue red commander that fits the "steal every one's shit" theme better

The worst part about threaten effects is typically the negative card economy. One way to get around this is an aristocrats deck. Future sight type effects basically dig through your deck every time you use them, thus negating the primary drawback without relying on sac outlets.
