This a 65k computer science job. I get wild and loud. We have a open floor plan at work and most of my coworkers are my age including my manager so we went out and got wasted. I snapchatted one of them stuff when I was blacked out, she seems like she is fine and still talks to me so I don't think it was bad. My manager and them go to electronic festivals a lot a started talking about smoking weed, that's the first time they talked about drugs. I said I don't like smoking weed, but I like to trip occasionally at festivals and every once in awhile...i think that surprised him so I stopped talking about it. The next day I was talking to this girl that sits next to me trying to figure out what I did, i mentioned that my car was moved and I didn't know how to her...i think other people overheard. None of this is professional and if they wanted me gone they will fire me easily it's a very small company my manager is good friends with the CEO, I shouldn't have mentioned tripping.

Well I like to play blackjack, which if you play properly you'll have a 49% chance to win any hand before the cards are dealt. Still a losing proposition obviously, and my losses have far outstripped what those numbers should suggest. Last year I probably lost around $3k at the blackjack tables, and though I've managed to get it much better in hand this year I still sometimes go and lose several hundred dollars in a few hours, or faster.

Gambling is definitely an addiction, its not quite the same as the physical addiction to something like nicotine, but there is a physical component. The win/loss cycle triggers the release of dopomine.

But really your mistake is thinking its about money, its not, its about the thrill of winning. If you look at any serious gambler they're never playing to win money, they're playing to win money so they can keep playing.

Yea i get what you mean its the thrill of winning and the social part of it thats is the best im sure. I would just do it for fun and expect to lose that money tho. I am a numbers guy and will literally barely spend a dollar on something that wont be worth at least a dollar still in 10 years. So you could buy a nice guitar, a farm, a book, a roland keyboard, silver, sugar stocks, etc. You know shit that will always be worth money no matter what. This is how I have become well off myself and I also help consult other people spend their money.
