Can we have a thread for wargames that are not Warhammer or historical?

OK, but nicedaemonette/whiteagle will probably be along shortly to scream BRIKWARS over and over.

Would you define historical?

Sorry; I though you said 'games', not 'wargames'.

stuff on this thread

Me an my brothers invented our own wargaming system when we were little based around legos

Too bad Legos have gotten just as expensive as real miniature kits.

When I was a child I didn't had legos because they were so damn expensive.

I really want a definitive list of wargames, so lets organize a list, albeit with some caveats:

1) Must have a existing ruleset and line of miniatures

When I was a child I had legos because my parents loved me.

So they bought you all the toys to keep you occupied so you won't bother them?

>silver spoon

bump

Didn't get get banned from the forums for being a faggot?

Bushdio
Heavy Gear
MERCS
World of Twilight
Beyond the Gates of Antares
Warmahordes
Infinity
X-Wing
Dystopian Wars
Firestorm Armada
Firestorm Planetfall
Dropzone Commander
Kings of War
Batman
Marvel Universe

Endless Fantasy Tactics
Malifaux
Judge Dredd

That's just off the top of my head that aren't GW or historical.

There are tons and tons of threads for miniatures games that aren't Warhammer or historical. just look at the catalog. You have Malifaux, Infinity, Kings of War, Battletech, Warmachine/Hordes, Dropzone Commander, (Sadly no Guild Ball) all on the board right now just off of the top of my head. You are going to have to be more specific.

There was a wargame I had playtested at a convention years ago that seemed promising. I don't know if it had any magic involved but it seemed to be low magic and very grounded in medieval (probably around the 12-1300s) themes. It was pretty much a skirmish level game that allowed room for some customization of individual figures. I remember the guy I was talking to said he had plans for miniatures in the works in white metal.
I don't know what the ultimate fate of the game is but I think he may have actually managed to get it published. From what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of games tested out and pushed at conventions.

>it ain't me

And here I thought I was the only person who played Mercs

Frostgrave

Goddamnit

Kings of War which is Mantic's answer to Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

>Endless Fantasy Tactics
That was the only one that I didn't immediately recognize. Fuck...

Gods of Battle by Jake Thorton. Wargames Foundry is the publisher. There are so many games out there. Break out of your retail mind set. So many shops just sell mtg, x-wing, hero clicks and a few old dusty D&D books.

Full Thrust -starship combat
Dirtside & Star Grunt - scifi ground combat
Anything by 2 hour wargames
Osprey has a number of non historical titles.

>Having parents who are to ghetto to go to garage sales.
Man, new orleans is literally hell on earth eh?

When I was a child I got a job and bought my own legos.

Child you should have been less of a fucking hippy.
