Did you ever had a succubus or half-succubus in your party? How did it go? Which role did she fill? Was she roleplayed realisticaly, or just as a random rogue with high charisma, or worst, as just a tefish outlet?

Closest I've done is using a half-succubus as a cambion, not the monster manual cambion but a poorly houseruled sorcerous origin. Used by a not-Merlin character in a not-Arthurian setting (a lot of original myths have Merlin as a cambion)

I'm in a post-apocalyptic fantasy game where we've acquired a pair of Succubi for our settlement.

As part of the apocalyptic events, Heaven and Hell seem to be just gone, so divine and infernal creatures suffered a serious power loss, as well as a lack of direction or central command. They're still dangerous, but they're predictable in their selfishness, so we've been making use of them as an asset.

What kind of asset? How do you make sure they cooperate?

I once played an indoctrinated Succubus paladin who routinely cut off and shaved down her horns & her tail. She believed herself to be the incarnation of the sin of lust, covering her sinful body with huge plate armor and attempting to keep her voice neutral and deadpan. Think something like Hellboy without the junior mixed with horrific christian inquisition sort of thing.

Nope. We only had regular tieflings.

Thread hijacking: How does the succubus supernatural abilities to read people's thoughts and act accordingly, or influence the actions of people, work?
Could a succubus read/influence someone via mail, radio, TV, computer or other inderect means of communication?

Morale and military, mostly. We've got them sworn to an agreement to not harm the people of the settlement (the setting uses the 'Demon's cannot explicitly lie' rule), and we have a Paladin possessed by an Angel keeping an eye on them.

Then again, so far, the Succubi have been significantly more cooperative than the Paladin. They're driven by self interest, but having a nice town to relax in is way better than eking out a life in the wasteland, while the Paladin keeps questioning the moral decisions of our ruling council and making problems. It's an amusing situation.

Wouldn't most tieflings and cambions (outside of the Forgotten Realms) be part succubus?

I'm pretty sure it must be direct contact. You don't hear of succubi (or spellcasters with charm spells) affecting people through letters (although there's probably a spell for that, like explosive rune but with charm). Radio/TV is more of a grey area since you don't have those in the typical fantasy setting.
