How do you deal with death/losses?

how do you deal with death/losses?

How does anyone? As best we can.
We mourn, we revere, and we move on.

Copious amounts of alcohol and memes

3d6 down the line generally. 4d6 drop lowest if it's a high-powered campaign.

IC or OOC?

OOC - either spill salt everywhere, or sit there awestruck because it was still fun/thinking how I can turn this in my favour. Depending on situation

IC - swear revenge, find those who did and hurt them in return.

In a game?
time to roll a new character and come up with something new, maybe workout what didnt work and what the group needs...

in life?
a party, someone passing is not supposed to be a sad moment. so if your paying attention it involves the above rolling up a new character.

My grandfather died today

drown myself in memes

Decapitations, immolations, being crushed, disintegrated, petrified, cut in half, pierced through the heart, or death from energy drain makes being resurrected or revived impossible.

Normally doing so requires a Spellcraft check with a Miracle spell of 15 + the effective level of the character.

If Death is a skeleton with a scythe, is Loss a featus with an axe to grind?

...

...

I roleplay how people do in real life. Might start with denial, might skip one or two parts and go to bargaining, but ultimately lead to acceptance.

Death and loss are not separate from life or gain, but merely a part of it. Once you see past the illusion that we are separate from nature and the universe, returning back into nonlife seems more comforting, but even if it didn't it would happen regardless of how you feel.

The sign of the poisoned womb....

Jesus christ, posting Loss without posting Loss is a fucking art

...

Ah, a powerful magic seal indeed.

Loss has transcended it's status as a meme to become something akin to a genuine art form.

>Character loses a loved one (wife)
>Gather up a party
>Travel to the Underworld to kick Death in the face and get her back
>End up kidnapping Grim Reapers daughter and use her as a hostage
>Agree to trade her for wifey
>Trade goes a bit sideways
>Deaths daughter gets blasted into another dimension
>Nab wifey, head for the exit
>Slightly butthurt Grim Reaper and a horde of demons chasing the party
>The jihad-wizard in our party unleashes a temporal chaos storm annihilating herself, about a hundred demons and causing a rift between dimensions
>Deaths daughter comes through the rift transformed into a Grim Reaper/ Eldritch horror -hybrid
>Devours Death, devours demons, devours half our party
>Rest of the party make a grand last stand
>Manage to drive the abomination back
>Seal the Undeworld
>Wifey was the only survivor, emerging back into a world where death is absent
>Pretty neat campaign

Loss IS art.
Memes are used to transmit ideas, to tell something to the audience.
Art serves no purpose but to be art.
Loss edits exist just because. Not to tell a story. Not to reference a shitty Buckley comic. Not to share an idea. But they simply exist, and people are driven to make them for no visible reason.
That's what makes Loss edits art.

What is happening?
