Why aren't space mariners given comfort women?

preferably eldar

How accurate is this?

when you get that armor off they're smooth like ken dolls

First for 9th chapter. For Sanguinius!

Sex drive is conditioned away.

Claimed for the Great Angel!

Not remotely.

Having my first battle soon, 500pts of my Eldar vs Tyranids. How does this list look? Should I go Runes of Fate for the seer?

1x Farseer, singing spear- 105pts

10x Guardians with ScatPlat- 105pts

5x Dire Avengers- 65pts

5x Striking Scorpions with Exarch, 2x chainsabres- 122pts

1x Vyper with dual shuriken cannons- 50pts

1x Vyper with dual shuriken cannons- 50pts

497 pts total

I know the Tyranid dude got the starter boxset, so I'm expecting buttloads of gaunts and a 'fex, no idea what the HQ will be though. Thoughts?

Space Wolves probably are

Reaper should be Horus, I know that much.

9th Legion, not Chapter.

I think it's strongly implied every instinct in a Space Marine is stymied and redirected towards warfare and loyalty to the chapter.

You'll win, you picked Eldar.

game over.

Can anyone give me some good pointers on a 750 point zone mortalis Tyranid army?

I have a ton of genestealers, snd the terrain I have seen is much more "ship interior", so I am looking to make a Space Hulk like army. I just need a lot more thsn just genestealers, but I have no idea what it should be, especially the HQs are leaving me wondering.

I only have the models, never played nids before. Trying to pick up a more fun army than my Iyanden Eldar army

I would call this the best cover image to date, though the white background and inaccurate scales of the characters detract a bit.

Nothing that can't be fixed with a light shooping.

Would 4 boxes of "Get Started!" and a GuC/Wingprince be a solid stab at a nugle daemons army?

Few warriors maybe, close quarters lets them get stuck in easier without sucking so much bullet.

painting my scions like this.
what colors should the eyes and lights be?

Shoop it, then. Here's another egg marine for variety. Only two images I can find from "Dr.Badman."

Depends, how are you going to do their bases?

Gorilla man should be Magnus.

Th'or Bjorn should be Leman Russ

Warriors do look good. Should I stick a Prime in as my HQ? Or just take the Tervigon?

chapters came first

real OGs don't call them legions

Matter of taste.
I prefer bipedal nids for boadring games, only quadrupeds should be hormagaunts erupting from vents and rippers leaping out of corpses and floor plates.

Real OGs were spaghettis so fuck what they called anything.

orange-ish with green grass tufts
think blood gulch from halo 1

tervigon likely won't be able to fit through a lot of entrances, and although the spawning gaunts could be useful, buffing warrior units is probably better

Prime's get work done in small games, where S8 is considerably rarer. Just watch out for terminators.

What's the cheap solution if I need jump pack bitz? Wee little shits are expensive.

Looking for advice for a 750pt tau army

HQ
Darkstrider
Ethereal + 2 marker drones

Elites
Crisis suit, Plasma + TL Plasma
Crisis suit, 2x Fusion, target lock

Troops
9x carbine FW, shas ui, guardian drone, devilfish + sensor spine + dpod
10x rifle FW, SMS turret

Heavy
2x broadsides, TL rail TL SMS
1x firesight marksmen, 3x sniper drones

total 750 pts

the ethereal joins the snipers to get stealth and to have a total of 3 BS5 markerlights, also gives the rifle FW, snipers and broadsides FNP

Darkstrider joins the carbine team

the setup is made from what i own, otherwise i would be using 3x firesight marksmen and more snipers instead of the ethereal

recasts
i think there are bit sellers somewhere
google is your friend

Then turquoise

Runes of fate is always great.

If he got the Tyranid Swarm box and is using most of those gaunts you're going to be severly outnumbered. He might simply go unbound or use the 'fex as Old one Eye for an HQ.

You might want to find room for the Scorpion Exarch to use a claw instead, since it will pose somewhat of a threat to a charging fex with S6 AP2.

With what you have you may not have enough volume of fire to sizeably dent his stuff, so a lot of it will depend on your unit placement and kiting (very manageable with Vypers). On the other hand I don't know what the hell your opponent has for synapse. You'll probably want to kill whatever it is as soon as possible and hope that the swarm eats itself after that.

>the setup is made from what i own

Well tell us what you own then.

General rule of thumb though, Railsides are only more efficient against lots of 2+ armour, multi-wound models or AV14 (though they're still very poor at the latter). In all other cases, Missilesides are the better bet.

A full squad of Carbine FW are also generally inefficient, especially against Marines (and other enemies) that outright ignore pinning. With your setup for them, Breachers would have been the much better pick. Carbines meanwhile are better scattered throughout squads of pulse rifles, if taken at all.

Won't that be too similar to the light blue armor?

>Well tell us what you own then.

Aside from the ones in the army i have
4 crisis, 2x double flamer, 1 with burst and plasma, 1 with flamer and missile pod (yay ebay)

6x stealth suits, one with fusion blaster

1 extra support turret, 1x rifle FW, 16 drones mostly on sprues

I would have gone breachers if i had any, I could split up the 10 carbines and 10 rifles but the point of the rifles was the sit at the back covering my ethereal and enjoying either 3 shots at 15" or FNP

I wanted a squad that pushes forward, carbines are better than rifles for that even if pinning can be ignored by certain races, they are treated as S6 thanks to darkstrider and are very hard to assault

Is the venerable dreadnought for Space Wolves worth taking, especially with the Great axe and Blizzard shield?

Not if it's hight saturation, vs the rather subdued uniforms.
Maybe Red lenses too depends on helmet colour

>Darkstrider
What do you plan to do with him?
>Ethereal
Marker drones are strange since they don't give the bonus if the unit he's in is firing along with him. Usually people leave him bare and throw him into a unit of Fire warriors since there are way more heads there.
>Crisis suits
Drop the TL on the plasma, you don't need the rerolls so badly. Why do you need the target lock? The fusion suit is already by himself and you may not find enough vehicles in 750pts to deep strike and give 1 shot each.
>Breachers and warriors
Hard to go wrong here.
>Devilfish upgrades
Up to you, usually never occurs to me to buy vehicle upgrades.
>Broadsides
Missilesides are usually better for screwing over blobs of infantry. The rail rifle has been iffy ever since it lost S10. It's essentially a glorified missile launcher and you usually take those in groups of 4.

Do you have a third crisis suit or some drones lying around? You might be better served with a meatier crisis suit team of 3 with ablative drone wounds or maybe even getting a drone commander. If not, then this setup is probably as good as you can get.

talking again.
Can you reconfigure the crisis suits? With these options you might want to have at least a pair of dual plasma with a third on flamer/fusion duty.

Stealth suits are also great fun.

Darkstrider is giving the carbines S6 in effect and letting them push up hard thanks to the 6" movement after overwatch

Ethereal markerdrones are being controlled by the firesight marksmen, i only have 1 marksmen so this allows me to have 3 BS5 markerlights instead of 1, which is more than enough at 750 pts, sniper drones dont need markerlights anyway because they always hit on 2+ and always wound on 4+

targetlock is because the 2 suits are not alone, they are together otherwise im practically asking to give away first blood, although i could give the ethereal armor instead

devilfish upgrades give it +1 cover save and auto pass dangerous terrain, basically makes it way more mobile and can make a fort for its troops near a building

dont have missile sides unfortunately, but my back line has 3 SMS so its not _that_ bad to have rail sides instead

I have other suits here , I could remove a broadside for a better crisis team but because i know im taking ethereal i want to abuse FNP broadsides being boosted by 3 BS5 MLS

nope, i built the double flamers, the triple plasma and the double fusion, the other 2 were off ebay

Stealth suits are very expensive but ive ordered some remora drones to pair with a stealth squad for some shrouded hilarity

Sounds like you've thought everything through. Tell us how the game goes user, especially for your HQs, I've never actually seen or heard of Darkstrider in an actual match before.

>especially against Marines (and other enemies) that outright ignore pinning

i just noticed this, where does it state that all marines ignore pinning? they arn't fearless as standard

Noone needs comfort women, when he can slay the foes of the Imperium while the Emprah is watching from his golden throne. That's your destiny, breeding is for normal humans and not for demigods fulfilling their duty.

It's going to be russ gray basically.
I'm going to go for red into orange with a yellow highlight.

They don't.

How did your last game go Veeky Forums? Got pictures to share? Reposting this bout against khorne.

Overall my dreadknights got slaughtered by this big bloodthirster, but mass firepower thanks in addition to misfortune and prescience brought it down turn 2. Draigo and crew did work after that. My interceptors also survived, but my purifiers got sliced by blootletters. Lesson learned about them.

I should take pictures of my matches but over hald of my stuff isnt painted yet, feels bad winning my first ever match as a greyfag

>500p Raptors vs. Orks (small game cause Ork player is fairly new to 40k)
>run Captain, Vanguards, Scouts and Tacs
>opponent running a buttload of Boyz, some Grots, Stormboyz, a Trukk and a Painboy and bikes
>think it's ok since my Raptors army is just for style (only 750 points total, many kitbashes bah blah) and he'll win due to being 2-3 times more models
>he's fairly educated on the rule side since he loves theorycrafting and being prepared
>table him turn 4, since Vanguard+Captain shreds through one unit per turn
>Now he's butthurt as fuck

I told him, that Orks suck balls before he even started collecting them. I may have just fucked up a new player to stop collecting and playing before he even really started playing the game, but he was warned. And I refuse to let people win on purpose, especially when I play a 16 Model fun army that's by all means not competitive.

Orks even suck harder than I thought since I didn't play against 'em since 5th

>11/10 gaming evening

>2 dreadknights and a bloodthirster dead by the end of turn 2
>turn 2
Bloody hell 40k has got silly.

It's cool user. No one in my shop actually can field a fully painted army it seems, and that's like out of 7 or 8 guys, except for this one sisters player I met.

I got tabled by orks my first game lol.

>thinking I know these weebs

>tfw I have a personal autistic issue with fielding unpainted/unbased models
>Don't care about the state of my opponent's army, but it makes me feel awful to field the Gray-Paint Alliance.

18 Skitarii plus armor and automata to go, Veeky Forums

I feel you user. I didn't want to field my second dreadknight that was just based, but I don't have enough stuff otherwise for 1500 points. Good luck finishing up.

I dont mind that much as im only doing beginner matches, but i was being silently judged by the 4 people painting in the store that out of my entire army i'd only painted 3 crisis suits and 1 ethereal at the time

You too user. I think I lucked out because Skitarii are fairly "busy" between the cloaks, armor, wooden guns, etc. They don't get monotonous to paint unless I do a bunch at once. GKs I see as either interesting in the same vein (all the details and such) or horrible (so much silver)

Well fuck them. A painted army should be for your enjoyment, not theirs. Doubly fuck them since you are new.

Yeah. Gk are like that. They have nice models, but the base color scheme can come off as very bland. I actually don't enjoy painting that much, but I want to get better still, and have fully painted stuff. It's weird... You got pics of your skitarii?

ah well, i play tau so i'll probably table them even without cheesing

got some remoras on the way for cheap flyer harassment, just need 10 pathfinders and my fireblade to arrive so i can throw out 50-70 shots a turn from 24" carbines

The last time I faced GK I shat all over both of his dreadknights by turn two.

My last game went well though. Took it easy on a Nurgle CSM player.

Today I should have a game (Round 3) of BA and his house rules. Which reminds me to write a reminder for myself to snap a pic of his rules so we can all discuss them here.

No pictures though, I hate my camera as much as tg at this point.

Pic related.

Ask and ye shall receive. I've been out of the hobby for years, I posted the Dunecrawler in another 40k general a bit ago, some anons were curious when I mentioned that I'd tacked on the Icarus Launcher just because I thought it looked cool. Dunecrawler body isn't glued to the legs yet for ease of painting, that's why it's a bit crooked.

Using the Anvil Strike force, ran a Comtemptor as my warlord and gave him a trait that let him shoot twice. Was pretty awesome.

Thinking of giving him an honour guard by upping his unit to three Comtemptors. Would prolly buy one of the FW ones instead of more Calth tho, this one took quite a bit of conversion work just to look decent.

Love the deep blue and the green, especially the green tanks on the leader guy's back. They're going to look great on the table.

Thanks, I figured everybody and their grandma was going to have some variation on red/white/black, went for blue. Very happy with the results so far, just gotta keep on painting...

Where would be a good place to buy the type of hacksaw you need to neatly cut plastic models for conversions?

All I want is a scifi tabletop wargame that's midway between skirmish and company scale, with good looking and plastic miniatures, a healthy or at least growing community, reasonable prices, balanced rules, a low skill floor but a high skill ceiling, and a high degree of both model and unit options for customization.

Why is that too much to ask?

Jeweler's saw might work, coping saw with fine teeth. Anything that won't just chew the model up, really. For smaller stuff, I've found flush cutters work fine since normally I ditch whatever I'm cutting off (say a hand and gun from a weapon conversion) anyways.

>Why is that too much to ask?

Yes because the person to either side of you probably wants something completely different.

Very nice shade of blue there.

>balanced rules
>high degree of both model and unit options for customization.

ignoring that reasonable prices is subjective to a point, asking for balanced rules and tonnes of models/ factions/ customisation is extremely unliky

Better hope GW turns itself around as that's the only way you're getting that.

Yeah, I use clippers at the moment, but it'd be nice in several cases to have something a bit more able to save both parts. Especially when it's a simple repose of something monpose I have more than one of.

I looked it up, apparently the gentler, finer brother of the coping saw is called a "fretsaw." Hobby shops might have them, people use little hobby saws for cutting model railway tracks and such. Could also just hit up Home Depot most likely

>fat nerd gamur gurl
>Rogal Dorn

>Why is that too much to ask?
It isn't. Play 2nd edition with modern miniatures.

40k is pretty cheap to get into when a unit of tactical marines hits around 400 points. Dark Vengeance literally becomes a complete army in a box.

>Play 2nd edition with modern miniatures.
>healthy or at least growing community,

>40k is pretty cheap to get into when a unit of tactical marines hits around 400 points

Dear lord, were units so expensive back then?

My 7th Edition is showing

didnt a dreadnaught in 3rd ed cost 300 before upgrades?

>300
>$120 worth of Black Knights is less than that, even as a command squad

Welcome to the problem literally every non-mainstream miniature game runs into.

However the miniatures are currently in production, the setting is popular, and there's no absence of interest in 40k's more rules-heavy iteration thanks to the skirmish bent the market's currently in.

115+weapons. Usually ended up around 200.

Squad prices were basically cut in half with the switch from 2nd to 3rd edition. Vehicle costs weren't as heavily changed (..for the most part. Razorbacks used to be 1150 points, after all)

perturabo as bastion
dorn as reinhardt
soldier 76 as roboute guilliman (mr vanilla by the book)

How good are the XV9 hazards?

static 75 points for what is in effect a shas'urve with +1T, +1I and 5 system slots instead of 3, but you are restricted to 3 types of weapons

They're pretty mediocre.

Far more expensive than crisis teams for the same amount of impact on the table. But they're not unusably bad, if you like the model that's probably enough justification to bring them.

Hopefully the new imperial armour gives them some new life

yeah, my main gripe is that they lock in alot of points for not alot of customisation, simply so you can free up elite slots

I like the suit design and can get 2 for £40 on ebay, but theres not much point if i can do the same with crisis suits

>I like the suit design, but theres not much point
Liking the design should be reason enough to use them. Armies without some passion just aren't as good.

i've ordered 3 remoras because i like thier design (and because i find flyers that can hide in cover for permanent 2+ without jink amazing)

I like the design of the hazards, but i also like the design of the crisis suits more or less the same amount

i want forge world to put out some tau infantry models, I like infantry far more than mecha weeb mode

Seeing how Sanguinala is a the only real universal Imperium holiday, and Sanguinius is regarded almost every chapter to be one of the greatest guys that ever lived, is it safe to say that Sanguinius is every chapters Spiritual Liege?

I want some cheap Tau flyers.

The GW models are ugly, and FW just wants to make 600+ point superheavies.

remoras are the cheapest flyer in the game afaik, they arnt the hardest hitting of things but having networked markerlight and 2 seekers each is pretty sweet

And tanks.
More sleek skimmers are a must, just Devilfishes, which are terrible, hammerheads and skyrays gets boring. Also a baneblade equivalent would be amazing.

If they could relive the Horus Heresy, would any of the primarchs switch sides?

Shiny black.

T5 makes a lot more durable, and defensive grenades are great, along with hit and run.

Personally, I love them. I never play without them, and have a setup of 3 of them with all weapon options available on magnets.

Think of them as close range shooters that are really good at shielding your more squishy units from assault units. If you are dedicated to them as charge blockers, FnP makes them crazy good at stopping pretty much anything that wants to threaten them.

Russ probably wouldn't go full retard at Prospero, so you'd end up with an extra full strength legion and whatever remnants of the Thousand Sons survive the flesh change.

Curze and Alpharius might switch sides.

Horus.

No, because he's too good. They can't show homage like they do with the Ultramarines.
