Enchanted Muskets...
mmmm....

Your joking, right omae? We're talking the ones you load from the front and take like 5 minutes to prep?

That best be a hell of a fucking shot.

Reposting from last thread, the Artwork link from the pastebin is dead, anyone has a copy?

Or anyone has a nice amount of art in hand to share?

>5 minutes to prep?
It can be done under a minute if you are not compete slowpoke.
But yeah, not very usable in combat situation.

Whatcha looking for?
Maybe bows and arrows? Phys adepts can do enchanting, right?

Tell me your Fake SIN names boyos!

I'll share mine.

This real issues with enchanting are

A) It has a huge Karma investment of Enchanting specific spells, on top of the skill itself.
B) It has inflexible timing rules that make using it to get any 'extra' spells onto a run damn hard. If you are going into a run with drain damage from making the preparations, you might as well have just cast the spells the normal way during the run.
C) It has the shittiest triggering system imaginable, which essentially makes them worthless outside of buffs or self centered concealing illusions to anyone whose GM wont put up with Arrows of Annihilation level engineering bullshit. Don't even get me started on how bad Command Triggering is compared with, say, a fiber optic cable or [Elemental] Grenade.

You would only really have to fix one of these to make Enchanting semi-useful, but under it current rules, you do a more work to get weaker magic with extra restrictions.

Can we talk about the video games here as well?

No one's really going to stop you.

>censored nipples
I thought dude nipples were ok

So because of Overwatch's Reaper and my love of dual pistols, I was thinking of doing an edgy or/k/. I could use some help with a few parts.
Whats that quality that pairs well with sharpshooter, the one that reduces the called shot penalty to -1 or 0?
Can I use unarmed for a melee attack with my hands full of guns?
Do two called shots incur double penalties?
Do two smartgun systems grant double bonus?

More of an opinion one, whats a good unarmed martial art that pairs well with gun kata?

has the kind of cash to get enchanted ammo that is expended after a single use
>guys I found a dragon.

>What's that quality that pairs well with sharpshooter?
Strive for Perfection

>Can I use unarmed for a melee attack with my hands full of guns?
Nope. Clubs.

>Do two called shots incur double penalties?
Yes.

>Do two smartgun systems grant double bonus?
No.

>martial art
Consider Bartitsu. It uses clubs (which your guns are in CC), and grants you access to Disarm and Riposte which are nice.

You can kick or pistol whip people, so why not. There even are martial arts that give your kicks extra reach.

Multiple smartguns don't stack, of course. You need a smartgun in each weapon for that weapon to receive smartgun bonuses, and you need smartlink over your eyes or in your head for the thing to work at all.

Wouldn't be double bonus imo, you'd need both guns to be smartlink if you wanted to get the bonus on a check to shoot both.

Gun Kata itself exist omae. And it gives you access to all the cool stuff you can do with guns.

>Do two called shots incur double penalties?
Called Shots consume your Free Action, so you can only perform one per combat turn unless you get an extra one from Perfect Time or something.
Bonuses from the same item never stack, except that item modifications are applied after you split the pool.

see, thats what I'm wondering about. Does the wireless smartgun count then, because its to the gun, not to the pool itself?

>except that item modifications are applied after you split the pool.

Are you sure about that? Core 5 pg. 196 says the split is only done after all modifiers have been applied.

The attacker’s dice pool is calculated with all modifiers (Wound, Environmental, Situational, and the full recoil of all attacks if it’s a ranged attack) and then split as evenly as possible between all attacks.

Say you have a dicepool of 10 and two pistols. Both pistols have smartgun systems. You split your dice pool and applay any off-hand modifiers/called shots/ what have you, then add the +2 from your Smartlink to each attack.

This applies to 4e, by the way. is probably right about 5e; I wouldn't know.

Added note: Just checked, and two-guns in 4e negates smartgun/laser sight bonuses.

They wanted to make two-gun mojo difficult, and it shows. I respect them for that, because it's dumb as shit in real life.

Almost as dumb as dressing up as an elf and hacking a corporation server with mind powers?

Does engulf works in the astral space? Because i just got myself and force 8 spirit gulf'd in the astral by something-something-scary-shit. And i kinda of feel like all the wording in engulf entry is pointing that it is meat space only power. 5e

Dumber. You can twogun in Shadowrun if you want to but, without magic or drugs or tech or Edge, it's going to be exactly as hard as it should be.

Adrianne d'
Her actual name is Adrian. She's not too original.
My character wears one of those sailor things sometimes and no-one's called me a pervert yet, so I'd say p. high.

Sauce?
I'll be honest, if you're going to enchant munitions you should be enchanting missiles. Those certainly don't deform. At least, up until the end.
Which is dumb, because Shadowrun has a lot of things that are way easier than they should be, like running up walls, or summoning elemental spirits to devour all who have ever slighted you.

Those are both magic, though. You can twogun with magic, too.

>You can twogun with magic, too.
And it'll SUCCCCK, just like if you twogun with cyber.
And no, you can walk up walls with cyber too. There's those magnets that let you just walk up walls and on ceilings so long as they're metal, and probably gecko grip boots or something.

how stupid would it be to take synaptic booster 3 with restricted quality

My friends want to go on a run were they get to hunt some big game.
But my imagination can't come up with something better than "Go there, shoot that, and bring it back to me".

Give me cool ideas for runs that involve the wanted extinction of one or more magnificent specimen.

It's not stupid if you feel the need for it. But lightning reflexes is the same thing, and it only costs 10 more karma in exchange for 95,000 nuyen.

>Sauce?
Sarina Valentina. She's transsexual, just FYI.

>5 minutes
In the Napoleonic era, the British army was famous for firing 3-4 times a minute (most armies only managed 2-3, because they didn't practise with live ammo). The slowest part is not reloading, it's following orders to fire together in a volley, properly dress the ranks when there's casualties, shuffling around if there are rear ranks that need to come forward to shoot, etc.

I don't know how fast you could be if you had updated equipment, like an improved lock that didn't require powder priming or a lighter-weight musket, but I suspect a shot every 15 seconds would be the floor for a musket adept.

So I'm looking over the Egyptian tradition, and if anyone has advice I'd appreciate it.

What's a good vessel? For some reason it's an Possession tradition, but I don't know where to put the spirits. If I summon them into ushabti, could they animate the little wax/stone bodies, even if they don't have joints?

If they do need something with flexible limbs, would it be insulting to conjure the spirits into Ancient Egypt action figures from Kong-Wal-Mart? They have realistic ankh action.

Fairly sure Lightning Reflexes doesn't stack with SB or any other augmentation.

(Unless this is a 5e change I'm unaware of)

To be fair, there's all sorts of big dangerous paracritters basically everywhere there's wilderness of any sort. They don't have to leave North America or Europe to hunt highly dangerous and potentially magnificent critters that the authorities would probably pay you a bounty for taking at least a few out, on top of it all.

The various Paracritters books from any edition should give you plenty of inspiration, just pick something you think could make for an interesting target, maybe something else that can show up and throw the hunt into chaos, then plan an expedition/run around it.

The Juggernaut is always a popular choice.

According to shintoism, by the time shadowrun happens mcdonalds will be an actual honest to god spirit.
How do I summon mcdonalds, or use mcdonalds as a mentor spirit?

(You)

So is 29 dice with a blade the highest you can do at chargen with a force 3 weapon focus?

McDonalds is dead. That damn off-brand McHughs had to come in and steal their thunder.

How do you deal with maps while GMing? I've found out Roll20 can use isometric stuff, so basically you can make things in SR:R editor and export them. Or draw top downs by hand. The latter takes endless amount of time because No Assets At All. Maybe anyone knows a good top down asset archive?

Some anons recommended the map editor of a game called Doorkickers a couple of weeks back.

Pretty sure I can minmax higher than that. Gimme a few minutes.

Well yeah, you kinda implied that
Anyway, even if I was feeling transphobic it still can't be any gayer than the yaoi.

I didn't look at martial arts at all, but I did run out of karma so I couldn't have picked any up anyway.

I used sum to 10.

Don't just say you used sum-to-10. Tell us what you selected for each, ya goob.

Well obviously it doesn't matter what I used since you only need max agi, max magic and enough skillpoints to pump blades up to 6, and you can get that with any combination really

Done!
A CCC E (Attributes, Meta, Magic, Resources, Skills)

Got 32 dice on just attacking with his sword, 34 if he goes Full Offense (plus situational modifiers like charging and Superior Position).

You can go imp ability 4 on blades?

Skipping improved aptitude was an oversight on my part, shoulda put that in.

>Nocturna Changeling Adept

Make him human, he has "only" 30 dice (and more Edge to boot...)

Should be loli too.

You can only go to 4 Improved Ability if you take Aptitude, since you round up when you're using Skill/2 to calculate the max rating of the power. That makes Aptitude worth an extra die over Exceptional Attribute at chargen. You only get one though, since their 14 karma costs make them mutually exclusive under the 25-point positive quality limit.

Could have been worse - I think the build also works for Pixies.

Indeed. But I was asked for the maximum and the maximum (as I understand it) was given.

I had (You) in mind when I found this image.

>You can only go to 4 Improved Ability if you take Aptitude, since you round up when you're using Skill/2 to calculate the max rating of the power. Right. Guess that's why I didn't take both of them. And after re-evaluating, I'd repeat the choice. Raw attribute > skill every time.

What a nice loli! Can I have her?

Yourself. I played a con game where my character was an Egyptian tradition mage and also had max ranks in Krav Maga. Grappling someone and punching them in the head *while on fire* is pretty neat.

>Raw attribute > skill every time.
For actual gameplay, I agree wholeheartedly. I take this brand of minmaxing as a thought experiment more than anything.

>What a nice loli! Can I have her?
Sharing is caring, omae.

I thought the skills of the spirit replaced those of the vessel? Or did you also have Channeling?

In the latter case, that's a post-Initiation goal. It would be less than ideal to be without spirits for that long, though it's definitely the main reason I want a possession tradition.

This looks awesome. My friend is running a game for us and we're looking at using Roll20 for it. Do you need to have a membership or whatever to use isometric stuff with roll20?

I made up Mohammed Li alias Marc Tanaka alias Pho Smith alias Heinrich Thessalonikkos alias Diego Jesúz van Knipjeguilden for a news headline

Except they don't have the meats.

Yes.

Well shit. Only the GM has to be a member to use it right? Or do we all have to have membership? If it's just the one we might all pitch in because it looks really useful.

That much, I don't know. Never coughed up for the thing.

>Only the GM has to be a member
Yes

Hey dudes, where are the toxins/poisons in SR5. Friend is rolling up a character with the stinger bioweapon and is trying to find something deadly to inject people with.

SR5 Core, Hard Targets, and Bullets & Bandages.

Spread all over. Some are in the Core book, some in Hard Targets, Some in Stolen souls and I probably forge some here...

lvl 4. Benjamin Adams

lvl 2. Jackson Grimslick

lvl 2. Nathanial Porter

It doesn't seem like there are that many to choose from. Any tips for making some/using some from 4e if I can find them?

It's a bit of a thorny issue, as there's no explanation on what you're supposed to do with modifiers that don't apply to both guns, ie if you have a specialisation in revolvers but one of your pistols isn't a revolver. That means one of two things has to happen; either you add the modifier before you split, effectively giving both guns +1, or you add the exclusive modifier solely to that pool.

How does making an effective infiltrator in 5e work?

I'm putting together a new character who I wanted to be a social face who can also use those talk skills to blend into places he sneaks into for intel and such.

There's so many variables it seems, though. I've got a breakdown gun, lots of sneak dice, rythium polymer, lockpicking, social skills out the ass but I've still got this feeling that as soon as I pass the metal detector I'll be lit up.

Experienced faces chime in please?

Did you remember to pick up the restricted gear quality for ruthenium?

I picked up a set of Sleeping Tiger clothes from Run and Gun. They have rating 3 Ruthenium and are only availability 10.

Ork poser.

Add, then split. Unless you are willing to add another "cheat sheet" with all the individual situations, just apply what's written.

the easiest and most reasonable way to handle it, which CGL naturally didnt do, would be to calculate the pool for each attack individually and divide by the number of attacks you're making.

so rolling 10 dice for your smartgun and 8 dice for your smartgun, if shooting each once would roll 5 for the smartgun and 4 for the dumb gun.

This Thread

What's the purpose of archiving these threads? I mean it's real interesting with the layout and links in everything, and I'm curious about the process, but what's special about the thread?

What's the point of this?

Wat.

welp, useful for me

AFAIK the Sleeping Tiger ruthenium only works when you're not moving. Just so you know.

I might be mistaken, though.

I actually like this idea.

Although I believe it'd be better if you posted the old thread in the new thread.

I think that might be a thing from an earlier edition. I can't find any reference to that in Run and Gun.

There's next to nothing on it in here at all, actually.

One of the ruthenium clothing items does work like that in 5e, but it's definitely not Sleeping Tiger.
